WIMBLEDON might just have been the most popular team on the coupon on Saturday – and they justified their billing with a 5-1 win over Bury.
My Super Single was Wimbledon at evens but noticed they were 4-6 before kick-off … probably because HullShaker had so confidently backed team goals for a nice profit.
Jordan's nap was over 1.5 Wimbledon goals and his other bet – Lyle Taylor to score – would have been voided by most bookies as he didn't start. Desmond and Greg drew a rare blank on their tips and Selectabet picked two out of three with Scunthorpe having one disallowed as they fell just short.
I was a Forfar goal away from a 23-1 homes fourfold – and they were the shortest price of the four – but my homes were nowhere but I need Chelsea to win at Middlesbrough on Sunday to complete the Top Treble. The stake can be covered if anyone fancies that but I'm leaving it for now.
The other English game sees a revitalised Leeds entertain leaders Newcastle. It should be a cracker and I expect the visitors to come out on top. They were going to be a Super Single at 29-20 but best price is now 11-10 with Marathonbet.
On the continent highlights include the Milan derby, Athletic Bilbao v Villarreal and St Etienne v Nice and I'm still looking at stats and team news.
I've got a couple of Super Singles for now and a Top Treble and have added a goals bet. First up I'm on Hoffenheim -1 at home to Hamburg in the Bundesliga.
Before the break Hoff were in great form, drawing with Bayern last time out, and they can climb into third beind RB Leipzig and Bayern with a win against rock-bottom Hamburg who have taken two points from 30 and lost their last three league games by three goals.
My other Super Single is a tennis double from the ATP World Tour Finals. It's been exhausting watch Andy Murray make his way through to the final and his semi-final win against Milos Raonic was his second game this week to beat the record for the longest three-setter at the Finals.
He looked dead on his feet after the marathon match and must have been dejected later when Novak Djokovic swatted aside Kei Nishikori 6-1 6-1 with the minimum of fuss. Whoever wins at the O2 will finish the season as world No.1 and it could be one match too far for the Scot although I'll be delighted to be proved wrong.
Djokovic is the 1-2 favourite and I'm doubling him with John Peers and Henri Kontinen to beat Raven Klaasen and Rajeev Ram in the doubles final. Peers and Kontinen have won nine matches in row and all of their service games as they ended the round robin stage with a perfect record.
They were expected to meet world No.1 pairing Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares but they were easily beaten yesterday in the semis by Klaasen and Ram. That was an impressive win but Peers and Kontinen are favourites and have looked the best pairing all week.
Hoffenheim are also on the Top Treble and I'm happy to put total faith in. Add Eintracht Frankfurt not to lose at Werder Bremen and they too were in terrific form before the break with four clean sheets and an unbeaten run of five games. Werder on the other hand have slumped to three 3-3 defeats on the spin and are in relegation trouble.
Complete the treble with another side who were on fire before the internationals. Torino travel to basement boys Crotone having lost one of six and netted 16 in that spell including a 5-1 win over Cagliari and 4-1 against Palermo. New boys Crotone have gathered five points from 12 games and Torino can add to their misery.
The goals treble is both to score at Leeds v Newcastle. Elland Road will be packed and hopefully the game lives up to its billing. AC Milan v Inter is usually a low scorer and for the seventh time in a row it should go under 3.5 goals – take under 2.5 if you want a better price.
Complete the treble with Diego Costa to score at Middlesbrough. The Spaniard is back to his best and has netted in his last three away games and in five of his last eight matches.

A very tidy day yesterday. Using that insurance as a means of taking a slightly bigger risk than usual on Young Boys. They are visited by a Sion side who are, to be honest, on fire. However, there aren’t many sides that escape here with a clean sheet. Sion have been conceding their fair share when winning, too, so hopefully Young Boys can notch a couple.
Newcastle should be tested at Leeds but I like their chances of at least scoring. Similarly, Sociedad are scoring freely home and away and are a nice price to notch at a leaky Gijon side.
