MICHAEL VAN GERWEN is out for revenge when he faces Kim Huybrechts in the Grand Slam of Darts quarter-finals tonight.
MVG lost at the same stage last year to the Belgian – who reeled off a nine-darter in his shock win over the world No.1.
The bookies reckons van Gerwen will settle the score and he's just 1-6 at the likes of Coral and Ladbrokes for victory in the best of 31-leg showdown.
Huybrechts is 49-10 at Marathonbet and both players are capable of hitting plenty 180s, with Skybet going 10-11 for over 17.5 match maximums.
In the other quarter-final Adrian Lewis is 4-6 with Sportingbet to reach the last four at the expense of former world youth champ Michael Smith, a 7-5 underdog at Boylesports.

Mlac my only worry with it now is that I think Dana ‘I bathe in my own money’ White might have influenced this one to go a few more rounds. It’s a strange statement to make but it happens in Boxing. Former World Youth Champion Michael Smith is a very skilled dartist. He hits 180’s with consummate ease (excellent grouping on them) and is just one of those players who has a quick throw but he gets excellent results with it. I like the price on the win at 13/10 but I dont know how he will maintain his scoring in the longer format. He absoloutely battered in the 180’s against Chisnel and I’d expect no less from him tonight.
Huybrechts hit the 9 darter against MVG in last years quarter as well as 12 180’s on his way to eliminating him. That was without doubt the best I’ve ever seen him play. Today there is a sense revenge will be on the cards but both players will be fighting for the win and I’d expect to see high averages and a substantial amount of 180’s.

It’s either going to end in the first round or its not? The only way I can see a loss is if the fight ends in the second round. Is that correct? Confusing to say the least. Wish I’d just taken the fight to end before 59 seconds market haha
