THE home nations are all in action today as rugby's Autumn Tests showcase some eye-catching matches.

Scotland are out for revenge against Australia after last year's controversial 35-34 World Cup defeat and the hosts are 41-10 at Marathonbet for victory at Murrayfield.

The last four meetings – two wins apiece – have all been settled by six points or fewer and Scotland are 11-10 at Skybet with a +10 point handicap.

In the other internationals England haven't beat South Africa in the last 12 attempts but are just 1-4 at Stan James to do it today. Wales are 8-13 to see off Argentina and Ireland look set to follow up their famous win over the All Blacks by caning Canada – the Irish are evens at bet365 with a -37 point handicap.

Elsewhere today there's the likes of the Champion of Champions snooker final – John Higgins v Ronnie O'Sullivan – plus Brazilian Grand Prix qualifying and NBA action.

Good luck with your bets and as always let's hear your tips and thoughts.

    1pm Higgins v O’Sullivan.

All eggs in the Ronnie basket. If both play like they did in their semis, this could be very one sided. Higgins came out flying in his semi but in the end was lucky to get over line as Ding wobbled. Possibly last week’s exertions in China are finally catching up on him. O’Sullivan, who didn’t make the journey to China last week, was in sublime form v Allen in his semi making 3 centuries + 3 more breaks of 50+ in the 6 frames he won. Ronnie has never been beaten at this tournament, winning in 13 and 14 then didn’t play last year. I expect his unbeaten run to comfortably continue tomorrow with more high scoring.

    Bets:
    O’Sullivan -2.5 11/10 WH
    O’Sullivan o7.5 50+ breaks Evs PP

Grand Slam of Darts starts today and I’ve picked out 2 bets I like.

    2.30 Suljovic v Noppert

Not going to lie, don’t know a lot about Noppert. It’s his debut in this tournament after a successful year on the BDO circuit where he is now ranked #3. BDO players in general have not had much success in this tournament with the exception of Scott Waites in 2010. Suljovic has cemented himself as one of the top players in the PDC and I expect him to come through this game.

    4.30 Wright v Jeff Smith

Another PDC v BDO. Wright, after a couple of average months, returned to form last weekend pushing the winning machine, MVG, all the way in the World Series final. He loves to change his darts on a regular basis but after his performance last weekend, I reckon he’s found a set that works. He’s not renowned for his 180 scoring but he hit 21 180’s between the semi and the final last weekend. I’ve read Smith hasn’t played a lot of tournaments this year as he is Canadian based and hasn’t made the effort to travel across the world. Hopefully Wright carries on his form from last weekend and wins easily.

    Bets:
    Suljovic -1.5 4/6 general
    Wright -2.5 6/5 Sporting Bet

    Big Day of Rugby

    ■■Re-Post from Monday■■

    England -4.5
    Australia -4.5

    Just under evens @ bet365

England are in grat form at the moment and have only one injury worry for Saturday. They haven’t beaten SA for 10 years at Twickenham and this represents their best chance. SA are on a run of poor form and their coach Alistair Coetzee is feeling the heat from the SA press and public. They drew 36 all with an under strength Barbarians team and although only 4-6 of those will play against England you can see something ain’t quite right. Another big motivation for England is their unbeaten run in 2016. Now NZ have been beaten England could become the invincibles of 2016 by winning their next 4 games. Hugely impressive on tour in Australia they should dominate against SA at Twickenham.

Australia have shown they still mean business with a convincing win against an under par/injury prone Wales. They still went about their work like true professionals and did so when beating Argentina recently by 11 points. Scotland are much improved and their match from the World Cup surely still lingers in the memory which gives this game some extra edge. Australia have some real quality players and if they show up on the day no amount of Scottish pride will be able to stop them. Australia will want to prove they are not in decline and will see this as a good opportunity to get a good run going.

I was going to throw up some tips but they’re pretty much what you said. Australia and England for the win. I was tempted to go England over 26 team points @1.8 but -4 handicap is probably more likely. Be interested to get your opinion on Wales Argentina. I actually think Wales will pull it out the bag despite their recent performances. More of a gut feeling, but seems to be most people think Argentina will win. Thoughts?

    • baggio 7 years ago

I haven’t checked the team news but would expect Wales to put up more of a fight against Argentina after last weeks poor performance against Australia. Argentina have progressed so much in the last 5 years but still lack consistency. Could be a close run thing. I have Wales +1.5 in a silly 8 x international acca!

    Japan +8 (v Georgia) 11 am

    1.90 @ bet365

Japan have one three out of four meetings against Georgia and have a decent away record, recently beating Canada who are no mugs. Japan have also just acquired Otago’s Mitre 10 Cup winning coach. Not sure how much time he’s had to have an effect on the team, but he will certainly bring a winning mentality and players will be on show.

Georgia are a pretty decent side, especially at home and are in a similar tier to Japan, however I think +8 is worth taking and if Japan turn up they could take the win.

    Slovakia Extraliga Basketball

BK Nitra @ Iskra Svit (17:00GMT)

Match day 9 in the Extraliga and Svit entertain Nitra. Svit currently sit 2nd in the league whereas Nitra languish 2nd from last. Svit go into this game off the back of a poor display against Komarno and I’m confident they’ll bounce back at home against a very poor defensive team in Nitra. Nitra have lost they’re fair share of games by 15-20 points this season so the given spread looks more than generous.

    Points Spread: Svit (-11.5) @ 17/20, Ladbrokes– 4.5pts staked.

    Good luck!

    • ayeright 7 years ago

I like that bet Hunter and your opinion is highly regarded in the euro leagues .
I have came up with a two bets of my own
half time full time barcelona in the acb league against a poor ucam murcia side 5/6
      Barcelona-3.5 4/7
any ideas or reservations against those bets?

    • hunter 7 years ago

      Thanks mate!
It’s difficult to argue against those selections although I’d be a bit apprehensive with regard to the double result (HT/FT) as Barcelona playing away in the ACB tend to be quite tight low scoring games. The overs/unders @ 153.5 seems high given the above. A big positive is Barcelonas home win against Madrid in their recent ACB game. Also their participation in the Euroleague should be seen as a negative as they will face a fresh Murcia side away from home and might even give some key players less game time.
Looks good on paper but would give a slight caution to the double result!

      Good luck!

Hi gents. Busy yesterday and couldn’t get on so just a recap of Thursday night. It was profit in the NFL with Terrenc eWest getting his rush yards but failing to get in the endzone, but the Bucks bombed a bet in Milwaukee with their loss to the Pelicans.

Terrence West (Baltimore Ravens) Over 55.5 Rushing Yards @ 10/11 @ Bet Victor – 5.5 points **WIN**

    West Anytime TD @ 6/5 @ Skybet – 2.5 points **LOSE**

    Milwaukee Bucks -4 @ 39/50 @ Marathon Bet – 5 points **LOSE**

    NFL Week 10

    Atlanta Falcons @ Philadelphia Eagles
Green Bay Packers @ Tennessee Titans

    Over 42 Total Points Double @ 81/100 @ 365 – 10 points

Three of the four teams here have given up the most points in the last two weeks being the Falcons, Titans and Packers, with the Eagles coming in at 11th with 46 points. All four teams are over teams halfway through the season. Atlanta 8-1, Tennessee 7-2, Philadelphia 5-3, and Green Bay who are 4-4 but are 2-1 on the road. I do like the game lines on the over here. Atlanta/Philly @ 50 and Green Bay/Tennessee @ 49.5. The double pays 66/25 @ 365 which I’ll have 2.5 points on too.

    NBA bets tonight to follow.

Hey Mr f are memberships renewed automatically or do I have to update myself ?

  14. scattercash 7 years ago

So Florida we’re so bad last week couldn’t touch them today. South Carolina are a tempting +12. Penn state a nervous -6.5. So with that it’s clemston -21 auburn -10. A very tentative treble with penn state and a cheeky fiver for interest on the three with South Carolina. 12-13-1 record so far hope to put that right tonight.

    Top 14 Single

    Bayonne v Clermont

    Clermont -6

    1.90 @ bet365 2pts stake

Even though Clermont have lost their internationals they can still field a relatively strong team that will want to continue their good start. Bayonne are at the opposite end of the table with no win in 9 games, so if Clermont win it should be by at least a converted try.

    NCAAF Picks for tonight;

    A fair few interesting games on tonight but done my best to pick out a double;

    Texas A&M -5 and Clemson -17 pays 1.26/1.

Agree with @scattercash and think Clemson will come out and absolutely smash it at Death Valley on Senior Day with the likes of Watson, Williams, Gallman all being treated as a senior. I will also be on Clemson -30 at 12/5 but with lesser stake obviously.

    O’Sullivan -2.5 11/10 WH *loser*
    O’Sullivan o7.5 50+ breaks Evs PP *loser

Crap day on the snooker. Higgins of last week turned up and he barely missed a pot. Ronnie of last night unfortunately didn’t turn up. Lost 10-7 and 2 50’s short of a winner.

    Suljovic -1.5 4/6 general *loser*
Wright -2.5 6/5 Sporting Bet *winner*

1/2 on the darts for minimal profit. Suljovic played well but I underestimated Noppert. Wright was far from spectacular but still managed to win 5-1. Hopefully better tomorrow.
