ANOTHER giant has departed the World Cup leaving six European nations to fight it out for the big prize.
France will face Belgium in the first semi-final after they defeated Uruguay and Brazil respectively.
They're first and second favourites in the outright betting with England third at 5-1 with sportingbet ahead of their meeting with Sweden today. They are as short as 7-2 with McBookie and William Hill.
On yesterday's evidence I'd take Belgium to beat France but there are no guarantees and it should be a cracking game between two sides who boast world-class forwards.
A Belgium-England final pays 5-1 at 188BET while a France v England final is 7-2 at William Hill.

Gavrilova is the epitome of a hack, and a clay court one at that. For me Sasnovich is the better player on this surface.
Bencic won Junior Wimbledon a few years back and reached the 4th round at age 17 before injuries hit. Navarro has been solid over the years but she is a clay court player.

i,m looking at the England game from a fitness angle…they were kicked, punched, grappled to the ground against Columbia , and an extra 30 mins on the pins….the next morning only 8 of the squad made the recovery sesh ( 2 of them were keepers)..and they had a long journey back to the hotel from the game….so it,s 2/1 Sweden to qualify for me….but as always ….nobody knows till you get your toe out to that line……..only my opinion…..

Gerrard won’t win a league title in Scotland. They’re being run by a man living off a family trust fund,the club owed approx £18m in soft loans prior too the summer spending and recorded a loss last season. Effectively they are splashing cash they don’t have too close the gap. If it fails and they don’t manage too win a title in the next 2/3yrs and access Champions League income in Govan I fear another financial meltdown in Govan. And I am a Celtic fan but that’s the stark reality of it
As a neutral I can see Gerrard here for a couple of years – maybe until Liverpool want him back.
He’s done a good job so far, he’s said all the right things and he’s recruited well.
Clearly he demands respect and players will give him a 100 per cent.
I know it was only Bury last night but a couple of Rangers fans who were there told me the performance and attitude was night and day from last season.
Will be really tough to catch Celtic but Gerrard looks determined to give it a go.
Gerrard has assembled a vastly improved first choice group of players and shall be superior too anything seen last season. No strength in depth though which could be crucial when injuries and suspension creep in but Aberdeen will be strong, Hibs will be strong and if Levein can grasp a steady eleven from the transfer merry-go-round that parks up at Tynecastle every window no doubt its set for a more competitive season than the last 7yrs.
NO disservice too Clarke Killie or double cup finalists Motherwell but they will do well too continue that over although both should hold their own

Think this will be a game too far for the Russians, they were still very fortunate to get through against a disjointed, managerless Spain.
