IT'S another quiet night on Wednesday before the international start on Thursday.
Last night I again put up just one bet and this time it was a loser as Shrewsbury had a man sent off then conceded a last-minute goal to Walsall. Loved the tweet from Shrewsbury about Trevor Kettle blows the whistle and it's a soft red card.
There were plenty of goals in the EFL Trophy -including 12 at Gillingham – and as alves said maybe the best way's picking them at random. Look at that woman who landed a 12-team accumulator with William Hill at the weekend for more than £500k … going by names she liked the sound of. Although I'm not sure what's so great about Burnley and Bournemouth.
Five games though went under 2.5 goals and one was Greg's so he was unlucky with his 5-1 treble although his nap won at 10-11. Well done to all the other winners last night.
On Wednesday there are four more games – Carlisle v Fleetwood, Bury v Stoke U21s, Grimsby v Sunderland U21s and Bristol Rovers v Swindon. All could see goals while Carlisle might be worth a punt against a Fleetwood side that played in the FA Cup on Monday and had to find an extra gear after being reduced to 10 men.
There is one National League game between Chester and Wrexham and HullShaker may gave us a steer on that one. I've decided it's a no-bet day for me.
There's not much else to look and my main focus is writing play-off previews for Northern Ireland v Switzerland and Croatia v Greece as well as the Scotland v Holland friendly.
