I TOOK a bit of a step back on Sunday and of three bets I posted it was one winner, one loser and one void.

The winner came from the over 2.5 goals treble at Ross County, Liverpool and Real Madrid while the moneyback fivefold was voided by Burnley's last-gasp equaliser at Spurs instead of returning 10 points. Rangers, Milan, Napoli and Monaco all won. Remember to check out our foreign football tipsters with Julien Lauren making a good case for Monaco and Radamel Falcao goals.

Hibs to score 2+ was the Super Single and while they won the corner count 15-1 at Dundee they couldn't beat hero leeper Scott Bain more than once. Talking of keepers if you haven't watched Scott Fox's howler against Rangers then do so – the ask yourself, “What was he thinking and is Moreles the invisible man”.

Jordan's tip on Antwerp was an easy winner and Greg had one win from three bets on the Hibs and Rangers matches. My app double and members bet also won so it wasn't a bad day.

We're now in international week but as no Fylde or Barrow players were called up all eyes will be on Mill Farm for Monday night's live action.

Well, HullShaker will be watching and until the weekend when they won 1-0 at Hartlepool the Fylde games were great for goals. HullShaker has already posted a preview and is going for both to score and over 2.5 goals at 4-5 and both to score in the first half at 11-4. I'd have put up a post but the Barrow folk might have boycotted us.

On the Bank Holiday there is a full National League card with top-flight and North and South games. I don't get time to follow these leagues and was out most of the day so didn't get a chance to post but there were loads of tips commented including Jordan's over 2.5 goals at Woking.

There's not much else to look at so it's a no bet day and it could be the same tomorrow with the dreaded EFL Trophy games dominating the card.

Remember to check welovebetting for their tips and video chat.

Followed Hull with Fylde recently ( v Dag and Red) and the BTTS YES was up before half time. I’m on them again in a Monday double.

    Re-post from Sunday’s thread:

    FYLDE VS. BARROW:

Years back, I knew a lass who came from Barrow (somebodys got to) and went to visit her for a weekend – what a place.

Her mates used to greet each other with ‘high-fours’ or ‘high-sixes’ depending on how close they lived to the Sellafield plant – to this day, it’s the only town I have seen where the locals wear open-toed clogs to cater for their webbed feet.

But it’s not all mutation and incest up there, they love a goal or two as well; in the combined 12 games played in this current NL campaign only 3 have failed to see both teams scoring and this trend is rife throughout both sides’ last campaigns with phenomonal numbers getting a big fat tick next to BTTS.

With the last 3 H2H’s ending in scorelines of 1-0, 1-2 and 3-2 (all to Fylde) coupled with the current and historic form, there’s every chance goals for both sides could be on the menuonce again.

    Two selections to consider:

    BTTS & OVERS…4/5
    ????

    BTTS 1ST HALF…11/4
    ?

    Best of luck ?

what about darlington v spennymoor ?
thought you would be all over this game.
      btts 4-7

      maidenhead v orient
      maidenhead btts all 6 games
orient scored in last 5 games, every game seen 2 or more goals.
      btts 4-7

      woking v torquay
last 4 h2h here been btts and over in last 2 years.
      btts 4-7

      Dartford v east Thurrock
Thurrock btts in 9 of last 10 and scored in them all, and seen at least 2 goals in last 19 games.
Dartford a bit miserly in defence but both h2h last season were btts.
they have 2 home clean sheets but they were against 2 teams with crap away form.
Thurrock unbeaten in last 9 games and double chance odds of 11-8 look appealing to me.
      btts 4-7

      darlington
      maidenhead
      woking
      btts treble

      and will add
      Dartford btts for a fourfold
and east Thurrock double chance at 11-8 for another fourfold

Darlo just out of sorts at the minute – got some good signings in but folk like Cartman up top who scored a lot of goals is gone…probably just a dip but I’ll be leaving them until/if they regain form which I’m sure they will.

Blyth v Harrogate (Stagger already picked this out) and York v FC Utd probably the best for goals with BPA v Chorley looking ok to.

Also worth noting that early wobblers North Ferriby have been receiving plenty of credit for their turnaround performances so, again, best watched and not backed against.

WILSTERMANN VS. SAN JOSÉ  (2215 KO):

Rare as rocking horse sh*t for me to back WDW on anything in SA but this price is just too big and I assume has been priced strictly on the last 2 meetings which saw a draw and a win for San Jose as there appears to be little change in team news or personnell.

Aside from a few draws, it’s been a dim outlook for the visitors who sit just above bottom place and head in to this meeting on the back of 3 back to back losses and just one win in 9 – more notably here is the fact that of their last 9 AWAY games…they have lost or drawn all but 1.

Wilstermann have surprised this season but they haven’t let it slip and sit a comfortable top placed
after 5 games comprising 4 wins and 1 draw…they have scored an impressive 15 goals in that spell giving an average of 3 goals per game.

I would have priced the home side somewhere in the region of 8/13 on so not going to turn my nose up at 365s price:

    WILSTERMANN WIN…10/11

Nice work on the Treble Mr F – plenty of winners from Crane, Jordan and the usual suspects!

With the Wilstermann pick a winner, I’ll chance my arm at another Night Owl…

AMÉRICA DE CALI VS. DEPORTIVO CALI (0130 KO):

Much like some of the other smaller SA leagues, Colombian tend to play each other a hell of a lot each year in both league and cup comps – a look at ‘recent’ H2Hs suggest little chance of goals but remember those most recent 5 games were all played in the last 3 months.

Look at the block of games prior to that – still incrediby recent and relevant – and you’ll see 6 more back to back H2H’s played within the last 13 months with scorelines of: 3-0, 3-3, 2-1, 1-1, 2-1 and
3-3…fickle buggers some of these Colombian sides!

Yes, it’s a gamble and yes, I can see exactly why they’ve been priced so high on that immediate run of games but it pays to look beyond that as proven in the Bolivian pick earlier – I wouldn’t rule out some goals:

    OVER 2.5 MGS…17/10

3 league of wales players from last season scoring a few at conference level this season.
cant get scorer odds in my neck of the woods for non league but might be useful for you guys who live in less primitive surroundings.

gary Roberts southport, ex bangor, a midfielder with an eye for goal and a fair few red cards thrown in, 3 goals this season.

henry jones afc fylde, ex bangor, cultured midfielder who has 3 goals in his last 4 games {his team are live on bt sport today, as hull shaker is very aware im sure].

Jason oswell stockport, ex newtown, this guy stuck out for me at newtown as a striker wasting his time playing with shit team mates and has proved me right since moving to stockport with 7 goals so far in a team who were pretty shot shy last season.

    • HullShaker 7 years ago

Great stuff Elvis – 365 go as far down as the National League for goalscorers…your man Jones is 4/1 ATGS tomorrow.

My money would be on Danny Rowe at 21/20.

    Hello!

    Picks for tomorrow:

    –> 1 pt Woking vs Torquay –> WOKING to Win @ 2.42
    –> 2 pt Coritiba vs Vitoria –> UNDER 2.5 Match Goals @ 1.79
Coritiba is missing their striker and doesn’t have enough fire power to score a lot of goals. They can, of course, win…but not by much I guess. Vitoria’s manager has already mentioned recently that they need to play defensively and exploit counter-attacks to get the team out of the current situation (relegation zone). They have improved a lot but have been playing very cautiously and I expect that to continue.

    Good luck to all!

Real Madrid sunk my challenge on day one with a limp 2-2. They couldn’t hit a donkeys ar*e with a banjo. With Monaco decimating Marseille and Ac Milan scraping a 1 nil, you’d of thought Real Madrid with all their superstars could finish of a mid table Primera team like Valencia. Even the price was shockingly bad @ 2/13, I got 1/4 for Mayweather to beat MacGregor ffs.

Anyway, not seen the match line-up yet , need sleep so won’t post anything up until tomorrow late afternoon maybe. If the games on show don’t tickle my fancy, i’ll maybe leave it a day and see what is on Tuesday.

    Maidstone, Maidenhead BTTS 1.6/1
    Maidstone > 8, Maidenhead > 7 Match Corners Evens
Whitely ATGS (Dag & Red) 7/5 small stake
Maidstone scored in last 3 homes and today are against freely scoring and conceding Dagenham (last games 5-1, 2-2, 3-3, 2-2, 1-2). Maidenhead have seen BTTS in last 5 and are against Orient who have scored in their last 5.
Carrying on with the corners trial – All 4 of the teams average around or over 11 match corners (Dag & Red 14)so will take the 2 lowest lines in both games as a double
Small punt on Whitely who has done me well so far this season now with 6 goals in 6 games.

Gateshead unbeaten at home [international stadium] this season since they won against Motherwell in pre-season friendly. Expecting them to hold this series for a while with hopefully another 3 points at home.
Squad is fully fit except new guy defender Scott Barrow.

    Gateshead to win
    Gateshead draw no bet

will add some btts or over 2.5goals selections from above [Hull’s Flyde looks proming for over, beside wasclueless’s btts] or possible below tips and give it a go.

No luck for me yesterday and it was a bit of a mixed bag of a weekend. Quick post before I head out, but hopefully get a write-up on later.

I’m keeping stakes to a minimum with these non-league sides playing twice in three days. Rotation is common but hopefully with it being so early into the season, most sides will be fresh enough to go again. Still, wacky results will be no surprise.

    Leamington v Telford

Leamington seem better at home than away, beaten 4-0 by Nuneaton on Saturday in a match where, if you wanted to, you could walk between clubs (albeit a long walk) so with Leamington at home today they shouldn’t be too tired

    Over 3.5 goals

Leamington fan here-not expecting us to win today. Hope i am wrong and good luck with your bet.

    • HullShaker 7 years ago

      We’ve got a Leamington fan ?

Wonder how much club coverage we’ve got across the board? Be good to know – could we set up a ‘Talent Register’ of Club allegiance – a page or thread to refer to when considering specific (particularly lower league) clubs for bets?

For example, folk would know to ask Kauto about Leamington team news, Elvis re Bangor’s injury crisis and Craneguy about erm, err…well, you get my drift.

Seems an untapped resource given the popularity of the site?

    • spursman 7 years ago

Well i used to live in Coventry so that’s how i know about the distance thing, Finn Harps would be my local club so any team news would be gladly shared…..wanted i don’t know but shared gladly…lol

It’s a great idea – starting with my team Clydebank but on junior games you only get WDW.
Bookies would be skint if they offered goals bets.

    • HullShaker 7 years ago

Easy to set up as a thread and would add a real community aspect to the site – no need to run an exhaustative alphabetical club list if folk used the ‘search on page’ option they could key in ‘Ipswich’ and it would come up with Warktheline and any other Ipswich fans.

If it could be ‘pinned’ for a few days sure it would populate fairly rapid.

  21. Jordan 7 years ago

Hi gents. Don’t usually stretch this low at a price but the stats back up todays pick. I imagine a few of us will be posting bets from the VNL today, and I have one myself.

Torquay travel to Woking in what should an open contest. The visitors have lost five of their opening six games this season, conceding 2+ in their last five. Woking have won twice, but they’ve not kept a clean sheet in any of their six games, and when these two meet, there’s usually a goal or two. Seven of the last ten h2h’s have seen both score and over 2.5 goals, with the last five at Woking seeing that market land. The braver would take BTTS & Over 2.5, but I’m chancing the goals on their own. Five of Torquays six have gone over 2.5, with four of six for Woking. Stats and history point to goals, as does the price. Fingers crossed.

    VNL – 3:00PM

    Woking/Torquay Over 2.5 Goals @ 7/10 @ 365 – 5 points

So over the weekend on 3 occasions a big favourite to win was behind or drawing and the conditions were right for a corners bet. My thinking is that big favourites when behind (especially at home) usually drop a gear and wave after wave of attack will lead to corners galore. These are the 3 I was on:

Celtic v St Johnstone (just after half time with Celtic 1-0 down and I think 5 or 6 corners)

    O 10.5 @ 2.025 2pts
    O 11.0 @ 2.025 2pts
    O 11 @ 5/4 4pts
    O 12 @ 12/5 2pts

All winners for a profit of 13.45pts

Then it was onto the Corinthians V Atletico GO with the away team leading 1-0

    Over 11 @ 11/10 2 points
    Over 12 @ 12/5 2 points
    Over 13 @ 9/2 2 points

All winners for a profit of 16 pts

Finally Last Night Real Madrid vs Valencia at 1-1 with the corner count around 11

    Over 15 @ Evs 4 points
    Over 16 @ 9/4 2 points
    Over 17 @ 4/1 2 points

First 2 won for a profit of 6.5 points

Almost 36 points for 3 bets is unreal. Now obviously these cant be posted as tips due to the nature of the bet and the fact you have to be monitoring inplay but I thought I would share my experience over the weekend. I may just have got lucky but will definitely be looking out for more opportunities in the coming weeks and see how it goes.

To ensure I break even if the first bet comes in I will use the following staking plan:

x corners @ evs or better 4 points
    x+1 corners 2 points
    x+2 corners 2 points

    • hudson 7 years ago

Cracker Jordan – not an easy afternoon either…my btts/overs nowhere to be seen.

      Onto the main event tonight!

National League efforts – garbage … managed to cover the corners bet at 2/1 on the Maidstone game …

  38. leroy 7 years ago

I should’ve taken my own warning as a lot of the non-league games were quieter than usual. Still, pish from myself. Well done Jordan and other winners. A quite few days in store so unlikely I’ll be having a bet until the first lot of World Cup qualifiers on Thursday now.

    MONDAY BTTS YES Double
    AFC Fylde v Barrow
    Blyth Spartans v Harrogate
    (5/4 Coral)
    – when it’s 0-1 and a home team goes down to ten men with ten minutes left, if a side scores, who’d you expect it to be? No – it finished 0-2 at Blyth.
I would still like to be in on the Fylde action tonight so I’ve chanced my arm on BTTS YES & Over 3.5 mgs (7/4 Coral)

Last year I had reasonable success in backing some of the likelier sides antepost in the CL group stages. Unfortunately, finding a modicum of value this season is proving difficult given some groups look like being no contest (Groups B and D) while others have an open look to them (Group G in particular).

However, I’ve picked out a few fancies.

    Champions League Anteposts:

I think there’s a bit of juice in this price if you accept that Groups B and D really ought to be formalities. Should Olympiakos or Sporting overcome Barcelona and Juventus, and likewise should Celtic or Anderlecht finish above PSG and Bayern, then I’ll have to take such sporting shocks on the chin.

Effectively, if you’re willing to risk the poor odds on those four giants escaping the group stages (although the 1/3 about Barca and Juve to qualify is pretty generous) then you’re getting a better than even money punt on Manchester United to top their group. United look a much different proposition this season and have the manager and the defence to see off their group opponents over the course of six games. Aside from an away trip to Benfica, you’d expect United to take 3 points in each of their other 5 fixtures.

PSG & Bayern Munich [Dual Forecast]
    Barcelona & Juventus [Dual Forecast]
    Manchester United [Group Winners]

I like the look of Napoli to get out of their group at a reasonable price. They are building up a bit of European experience in the last decade and competed well, despite the final aggregate score, when downed by Real Madrid in the knockout stages last season. They comfortable saw off Nice to qualify and have kept hold of all of their stars this summer. With last season’s squad very much intact, I like their chances of getting out of the group stages.

Monaco have picked up exactly where they left off last season, despite the fact that they have replaced a lot of their starting XI with stacks of cash. Falcao has continued his scoring form, young Belgian Youri Tielemans is an astute acquisition and the often-overlooked core still remains – Subasic between the sticks, Glik and Jemerson at centre-half and Fabinho now alongside the experienced Joao Moutinho in the middle.
I would be slightly concerned to see both Mbappe and Lemar leave before deadline day (and it does look likely), but with 14 league goals in their opening 4 games without Mbappe, Monaco ought to have a strong chance of getting out of a wide open group regardless.

      Monaco
      Napoli

    France v Netherlands

Over 2.5 goals at evens looks like a really good bet in this game on Thursday. It´s our last chance to qualify, but I can´t see it happening to be honest. France also want to win this game to keep the first place in sight. I think this French squad is just too good and will win 2-1 or 3-0.

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

Again agree France should be too strong.

  52. craneguy 7 years ago

evening craig, did you get paid oot on psg gem aff wh?

    • Alves 7 years ago

Aye, said the other day. After phoning, emails and pestering them on twitter they finally paid oot. The guy on the phone was a complete pr*ck about it tae, saying it was obviouly pretty clear it was all for PSG. I was ready for shutting ma account just for that. Got email saying they’re not paying out but will ‘word these bets better in the future’. No chance that was for PSG to have 2+ cards per half at that price

wee heads up on ayr v Montrose tomorrow nite in the challenge cup

ayr failed to deliver on tgs on sat but had to happen at some point spose, wee mcolls got a decent outfit down there and are only team in Scottish 3rd tier that are full time, last round ayr won 5-1 at home and Montrose won 3-1 away so think goals should be on the cards, 365 GL set for 3 at 1.975 but i’ll be waiting on odds for btts&overs, o2.5 ayr tgs and o3.5mgs

    just saying…………..

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago
