REAL MADRID made hard work of it but got the job done to set up a probable Champions League Final against Liverpool.

The Reds take a 5-2 lead to Roma and it should have been more. I can't see Liverpool slipping and I've posted a separate preview where again I go for goals.

That was my call last night on the Real v Bayern game but my over 2.5 goals bet was left as a winning single after Dunfermline drew with Dundee United.

Both Scots play-off games were draws and tonight's should be close again with Alloa facing Raith after holding them to a 0-0 draw on Saturday that denied them the title.

The other Championship semi-final sees Arbroath entertain Dumbarton and I fancy the Sons to qualify as they beat decent sides such as St Mirren and Dundee United and competed fairly well until switching off over the past few weeks.

In the League One play-offs it's Stirling v Peterhead and I'd favour the away side who finished the regular season with six wins. Peterhead won the last three meetings between the sides this season and four of their last five visits to Stirling. The Blue Toon are 5-6 at William Hill.

There's not much else to look at unless you're a National League expert.

Dumbarton are 13-5 at bet365 and less risk at 6-4 draw no bet at bet365. For a double I'm going both to score at Roma and Dumbarton not to lose.

Well done to any winners on Wednesday – I was away all day so not sure how people fared.

The latest £10 to £1000 challenge on Twitter started yesterday with a record number of voters picking over 2.5 goals at Real Madrid. Bet No.2 could be tonight but haven't decided yet.

No idea how the ref didn’t book a Bayern player towards the back-end of that one despite two or three definite bookings. That downed the RQB that looked to be solid throughout the game but such is the risk with those kind of punts. In truth, it summed up the poor end to April and it’s a shame to not start May with a winner. Still, we go back to the well again on Wednesday.

Steering clear of Rome initially where I’m struggling to find value. Instead I’m looking closer to home.

The Southern League Premier playoff games are one off, one-leg affairs which means an early-ish goal should open them up. Slough have played good football all season for the level, and did themselves proud in the FA Cup this year. Their home tie with Kettering looks a cracker. They are the top two highest scoring teams this season, but have the worst defensive records out of those who finished in the Top 5. Slough are strong at home but have just two clean sheets in their last 15 on their own soil. Kettering’s away games often saw goals, though often in unpredictable fashion – but they rarely draw a blank and I fancy both sides to bag here if the usually frosty playoff fare is avoided.

I’m adding Kings Lynn to score in their home tie with Weymouth. They tasted defeat just once at home all season and scored in 21 out of 23 of those. Weymouth were much leakier on their travels, conceding two thirds of their total goals conceded when away from home. Both sides netted in each meeting this season but I’m trusting the home side to at least net here.

    Slough v Kettering [BTTS]
    Kings Lynn [To Score]

    Double @ 23/25 (Bet365)

  3. ash 6 years ago

Hi I was hoping someone could help me.

I placed a bet with william hill yesterday under there #what odds.
The bet was over 1 goal, over 2 cards, over 3 corners in each half and was priced at 6/10.

They have classed it as a loser claiming that over 2 cards had to happen in each half, surely this cannot be right? That would mean betting on a 4 goal game with at least 6 cards at 6/10…..
Is there anything I can do?

    • cockerspaniel 6 years ago

Phone customer services ash.-the odds do seem a bit skimpy.

    • ash 6 years ago

I called up the guy started by saying over 1 goals came in, over 2 cards came in, realised it should have won, put me on hold and then went back to saying the cards had to happen in each half

    • cockerspaniel 6 years ago

      Try again mate. Good luck?

    • ash 6 years ago

Thanks mate, called again and they eventually paid out :)

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

For this bet 6-10 is clearly the wrong odds. I’d asked for the stake back – get on to them again and ask them what the odds should have been.
Were you thinking it was just the corners bet in each half and the rest in the whole match?
If you have no joy email me at mrfixit@dailyrecord.co.uk and I’ll look into it.

I had this problem before wi Hills, got paid out on it eventually after numerous calls and emails stating the would be no where near that. Was same scenario tae all to PSG if a can mind right.

Real through to the final, waiting on Athletico to follow them in. Not impressed by Real’s defending and can see Liverpool taking a few off them but Real’s quality up front should bee too much for Liverpool’s defence as well so who knows what way it will go.

Cash out at £1775, may look to take my chances Atleti winning the EL then cashing out and enjoying the CL final as a neutral as it should be a cracker, the type of game that you don’t want a bet on!

    • ged72 6 years ago

Good luck with your bet . I’d take the cash out because if LFC make it , there quality up front could be to much for Real Madrid.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

If Liverpool make it they win it,i said this time and time again.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Liverpool have every chance but you can’t say they WILL win it. Absolutely no guarantee.
Real were poor last night but they’ll turn up for the final as they always do.

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

yeah exactly @mr-fixit – it’s dangerous to rule Real out, they are one of the few teams who have proven recent form goes out of the window – when they need to step it up, they find the extra gear when needed. I’m NOT saying they’re going to win, but this will be a close game IMO.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

If Liverpool make it to the final they will p*ss on this Madrid team, game will be over by half time.Sounds mad bt its true.

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

@maccathered – tread carefully man, you know what overconfidence brings…. also anything can happen in a final – form doesn’t apply, it’s 50/50

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Don’t think Real will get a look in tbh, there attack isn’t as good as ours and our defense is a lot tighter than theirs.

    • davisam 6 years ago

Far, far too confident mate. Your defence is still weak at defending crosses, as seen last week by conceding 2 at West Brom. Left and Right backs are brilliant going forward but can easily get exploited going the other way (I appreciate the same is true of Madrid) so they are by no means water tight. Man for man Real Madrid have a better defence but because Zidane plays with no tactics Liverpool definitely have a better defensive unit. The reason he plays with basically no tactics is because they tend to outscore anyone they come up against, I think it could be 5-4 either way in the final, no chance you can speak about either team with the confidence you have above.

    • boabee8867 6 years ago

Macca..correct me if I.m wrong here…but is football not the same as any other sport or level……its how you perform on the day that counts …nothing else ….not what anyone on this site thinks or hopes for….

    • maccathered 6 years ago

True, back Madrid win it then good luck.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

I wouldn’t let anyone influence you as it’s your money.
Personally I’d cash out and lump £300-£400 on the Atletico Madrid/Liverpool double.
Atletico should win the EL but Marseille are a decent outfit and the final’s in France so could feel like home.
Maccathered has been spot on with Liverpool all the way but when it comes to the Final this will be tight – Madrid have all the experience of how to get it done and there’s no way it will be easy for the Reds.

    • ged72 6 years ago

I agree with Macca , although not as confident , as are goalie an lovren always have a howler in them. Be a great final though if we get there. COYR.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Real Madrid have given up almost 40 odd chances to Bayern over the two legs.Bayern’s finshing was poor Madrid should of been dead and buried last night,if they give Liverpool so many chances then they will get beat, nothing is going to change between now and the final,Madrid look jaded and like i said before Liverpool do have a good record v Madrid,if Liverpool get there then see who the sharps back and i’ll bet you it won’t be Madrid.

    • davisam 6 years ago

I’ve fancied Liverpool in every round so far but the only test they’ve had is Man City who have little to no European pedigree. Every pundit has been far to harsh on Madrid, they’ve had by far the hardest route to the final – Tottenham and Dortmund in their group, PSG in the last 16 (early favs to win the tournament), Juventus in the QF and Bayern in the SF. They’ve knocked out basically every heavy weight in Europe bar Barcelona so for some people, including pundits, to write them off and say they are lucky is an insult. Fourth final in 5 years, going for 3rd title in a row. Hargreaves was ridiculously biased last night, talking as if Bayern’s mistakes were like a refereeing error costing them goals rather than their own players, Bayern made those mistakes, that was part of their overall performance and the conceded more goals than Madrid so deserved to go out on that basis, despite playing well over the two legs.
Thanks MrF, I’ll consider cash out if AM make it through on Thursday but if I was to pick a winner now I’d still go Madrid because of their know-how and experience. Take your point re. Marseille as well, hoping Salzbourg can pull it out the bag tonight, unlikely but they are no mugs.

    National League Play Offs:

    North –

Kidderminster v Bradford PA – BTTS

9 of the last 11 league games for Kidderminster have seen BTTS. They’ve also only failed to score twice at home all season. 6 of the last 10 Bradford games have been BTTS.

All 8 previous meetings between these two side have been BTTS including the last game of the season which Bradford won 2-1.

    South –

    Hampton & Richmond v Truro – BTTS

Hampton have been BTTS specialists at home this season with 7 of the last 8 home games being both teams to score. They’ve failed too score just twice at home all season. Truro aren’t as profilic but should knick one and have only failed to score three times away from home in the league.

Truro have scored in all there previous meetings against Hampton with these two also meeting the last game of the season which was 1-1.

Have to agree with Macca on the Real Madrid front.

In my opinion it’s an absolute travesty that they’ve reached another Final. They’ve been rotten all season and I would sincerely love to see them ripped apart by Liverpool in the Final. No mercy, no subbing Salah at 5, something akin to what Germany did to Brazil 4 years ago. That would put them in their place.

It’s unbelievable that this team has accumulated more Champions League titles then the greatest Barcelona side in history, but then they’ve had so much luck on the way (particularly the 2 finals with Athletico).

    In the meantime though,
    Liverpool bts
    Torino Under 19 bts
    Slough bts

    Then roll on the final.

Keep hearing about the Chinese leagues being goldmines to bet on but I don’t think I’ve ever won a bet on those leagues. If I bet under 10 goals it will be 9-1 if I bet over 1 goal it will be 0-0. Is there some kind of secret formula? Made a tidy profit on European football but most are coming to an end this season may have to avoid China altogether unless there are any resident Chinese experts here?

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

CUP games… you have to be careful with them

Usually the China Super League IS good for goals particularly teams such as Guangzhou Evergrande and Shanghai SIPG – I recommend you look at statistics for the results this season so far, you can see the goals for yourself

    Arbroath vs Dumbarton

I don’t disagree with Mr Fix it about Dumbarton being the better overall team here playing at a higher level , but I think tonight will be a tough fixture for them, and they travel to a ground they haven’t won at in over 13 years. Dumbarton welcome back players rested for the game at the weekend ( as do Arbroath ) and their captain so should see a better performance than recent results suggest but against a team who also perform well at home and have had a remarkable season.

Dumbarton to qualify over the two legs i like but at 4/6 would rather wait for the result tonight and see where the chips fall, but for tonight’s game my recommended bet would be both teams to score at 5/6 . Il also be having a nibble at BTTS & over 2.5 goals at 11/8 for added interest. I fully expect Dumbarton to win at home in the return leg though.

    BTTS – 5/6 ( bet365 )

Also fancy over 3.5 goals in the parnu / paide game in Estonia at 1700 ( a leaf out of Greg’s book ) and BTTS at Kidderminster vs Bradford PA tonight.

Good luck with all bets today/tonight, Roma / Liverpool should be a cracker !

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

In those 13 years how many times have they met?

    Night Owl:

CRUZ AZUL U20 VS. AMÉRICA U20 (2200 KO):

Everything points to a few goals here and surprised the prices aren’t shorter; 80% of both teams last 5 successive games have seen 3+ goals whilst the same figure of H2H’s have also gone over ‘2.5 MGS’

Table-toppers America have netted 3-2-5-2-3 team goals in that spell and happy to go with this:

    OVER 2.5 MGS…4/6
    ???

    Best of luck.

  59. cockerspaniel 6 years ago

No joy with my red card and Roma bookings. Though how the L/pool defender was not sent off for the hand ball on the line is beyond me. Had a couple of betvictor priceups won, so no damage done. Some good winners tonight Well done to all of them.

Cheers lads the Final is going to be Mental

    Thursday supersingle

Atletico to win/under 4.5 mgs @ evens skybet

Only lost 2 games at home this season, haven’t conceded at home since mid January, past 12 months only two of Ateltico’s home games have seen four or more goals and in European competition Atletico have only lost 3 times at home since Diego Simeone took over in 2011. Lokks a cracking bet to me. Good Luck.

  62. alex_mufc83 6 years ago
