THERE is a raft of friendlies on Saturday as the qualifiers for Russia continue their build-up to the finals which are now just five days away.

Games to consider include Hungary v Australia, Estonia v Morocco,  Serbia v Bolivia, Sweden v Peru, Denmark v Mexico, Tunisia v Spain and France v USA.
Things to check include team news and venues as some games are on neutral ground, for example Spain are playing in Krasnodar.
Having done well enough on the friendlies through the week I'm putting up a double which could be my last before the start of the World Cup as I begin to focus on the opening round of games. The double is France to score 2+ at home to USA and Spain to score 2+ against Tunisia.
My Super Single is Mexico draw no bet against England in the final of the Toulon Tournament. Thanks to Scotland's involvement I've watched a few games and the finalists are clearly the best sides taking part in France.
However, after drawing 0-0 with England in their group opener it's the Mexicans who have looked the best outfit as they sailed to the Final while England had to come from behind to beat China and in the semi-finals Scotland.
The much younger Scots deservedly led at half-time but Aidy Boothroyd made some changes and in the end Scotland ran out of steam but could have been out of sight in the first half if they'd taken their chances.

England are favourites at 5-4 with bet365 but didn’t overly impress against Scotland and I’m chancing Mexico draw no bet in 90 minutes at 11-10 with bet365. To win they are 2-1.

Scotland are 9-7 at 188BET to equal last year’s display and finish third at Toulon. Scot Gemmill’s side face Turkey who were fairly well beaten by Mexico in their last-four clash and I’m backing Scotland to edge it.

Well done to all Friday's winners and remember to take it easy when netting on friendlies.

Hi gents. No joy last time out, and I doubt I’ll have that much of a busy June as I like to enjoy the tournaments rather than punt on them as it can be very unpredictable. Still a few days away but still some decent football to bet on.

In Sweden I’m taking goals at Brage. Four of Varbergs five away games have seen over 2.5, with three of Brage’s five at home seeing the same market land. Although the last h2h was a few years ago, this fixture has seen plenty goals with both scoring and over 2.5 in all four contests.

After much umming and arrrring, my bets for tomorrow’s test matches.

    Australia v Ireland (11.00 am)

Ireland are resting 6 of their best players and with home advantage this gives the Aussies the edge. The Irish will employ a tight forwards game, peppering the Aussies with high balls. This tactic might bite them in the ass with some quality catchers in the Aus backline who like a run. Aus have been much improved recently, breaking the hold that NZ had on them since the whitewash by England. Definite value in:

    Australia ML
    1.95 @ bet365

South Africa v England (4.05 pm)

Tough one to call this with SA only two games in with a new coach and England playing like a bunch of f*cking girls. One of them being Mike Brown who was exposed by the Barbarians could have a tough game against the speed of Sbu Nkosi. A try for Nkosi looks good value:

      Reasoning:

Can’t see a depleted France stick 20+ points against the strength and depth of NZ

Argentina in the form of Jaguares are playing well, looking to get some momentum building after a poor couple of years. Arg are mid season where Wales are end of season and have a mixed squad of youth and experience.

    UFC 225 Tips

Rafael Dos Anjos to beat Colby Covington – 6/5

No idea why Covington is favorite in this fight. He has only one big win over Demian Maia under his belt but has never beat anyone as good as Dos Anjos. I see this being a dominent win for Dos Anjos.

Meghan Anderson to beat Holly Holm – 6/4

Another one where I think the bookies have it wrong. Holly is the slight favorite in this one but for the life of me I dont know why. She is still living of that famous KO win over Rousey but people forgot that was 3 years ago and she has lost 4 of her last 5 fights since. Anderson on the other hand is a beast and has won 4 straight all via TKO.

Event starts at 3am on BT Sport 2.

    • philwindy 6 years ago

Half-time and Naestved dominating proceedings, especially towards the end of the half. I can’t see many goals 2nd half and well go for a 1-0 win to the home team . Small stake for interest.

    Afternoon gents

Focusing the friendlies today and will echo Mr F’s Comments about keeping stakes small for these games

I fancy Australia ?? and Morocco ?? to win their respective games but going to go for a goals double

    Hungary ?? v Australia ?? 4.30pm
    Sweden ?? v Peru ?? 6.15pm

The men from down under certainly preparing well for the World Cup with a 4-0 hammering of Czech Republic. Hungry had a horrible qualifying campaign and we should see at least two goals here

Been really impressed with Peru – they seem like a side intent on attacking. They are flying at the moment and come Into off the back of a 2-0 and 3-0 win against Scotland ??????? and Saudi Arabia ?? – can’t see Peru no scoring against for me an average Sweden side

Back over 1.5 match goals double 11/10 (Ladbrokes) (NAP)

    World cup Ante post tips
World cup winner Brazil at 4/1 (NAP)*****
I don’t think their is another team that can match Brazil at this present time, they have the best players in Firmihno,Neymar,Coutihno etc etc and it’s not just down to this why i take this bet,Spain have lost a great and influential player in Iniesta who leaves a void in the Spanish team that will take some filling,Germany have not been at it lately and i find it mighty strange that Sane has been left at home for me Germany will meet Brazil before the Final and Brazil will prevail.
    Outsider tournament winner
    Portugal at 25/1
Crazy but this team gets going somehow when it comes to tournaments and know how to win games ugly if they have to and with Ronaldo on board they could go far.
    Top Scorer
    Neymar at 10/1 (NAP)*****
Taking any other score would be nonsense,he has become fit for this tournament and after a long lay off you can bet your bottom dollar he’s ready to go.
    Best of luck

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

A couple of things – I agree with you about Brazil but I don’t think it’s clear cut.
Secondly, they can only meet Germany before the final if one or both don’t win their groups.
Thirdly, Iniesta’s in the Spain squad for what is likely to be his last major tournament.
Portugal for me have no chance although I understand why you have backed them.

    • nathanufton 6 years ago

I know Germany have not had the best of results of late, BUT cast your mind back to the confederations cup, the U19’s and U21’s tournaments. All 3 tournaments practically running at the same time. The U21’s side was raided because Joacim Lowe left all his old guard at home. They won the tournament. The U21’s raided the fringe players and U19’s-U18’s…. They won the tournament. The U19’s were well and truly spent, god only knows who they raided for to swell their ranks but they also won their tournament.
I said it then, i’ll say it again, German international footie is poised to dominate for maybe the next 4-6 years AT LEAST.
Brazil had home advantage in that Semi 4 years ago, unbeaten at home in 37? years? That 7-1 scoreline was an embarrassment to the whole country. Scolari ( a terrific manager at all levels ) was clueless and even though Brazil have had a massive turn-around in form being practically unbeaten since the last WC, I still think they’re a country mile behind Germany.
I fancy England to face off against Brazil in the 1/4 final and I think we’ll give them a wake up call. There’s no expectation for England to do well but our results speak for themselves. We’ve had a solid qualifying campaign and some good results against some good sides in Friendlies.
For some stupid reason, the prawn sandwich brigade at the FA hq think England should be targeting winning at Quatar. I think its a pipe dream, but even so, if we’re to stand any chance of making progress in these big tournaments, we’ve got to perform at them. Belgium will be a tough game, but it is winnable – their backline for one. I think we” definitely make the last 8, but are Brazil going to fold again? Last time around, it took them until their third group game to hand their opposition a convincing win ( 4-1 ? ).

I have also noted that the usual big guns – Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar rarely have WC games their own way. So if Germany do win it, it is highly likely they’ll once again oblige with the golden boot winner.

  36. nathanufton 6 years ago

Solid tips today from the usual suspects today, although England U21’s wanna spoil the party a little.

Last night I started from scratch and took an Avai and Goia double. Woke up to a nats whisker under £40.

Dropped my pot on a Serbia/Australia/morocco treble.

Serbia are bossing it at 5-1 up, Australia left it late to get the opener and with 87 mins on the clock and Morocco 2 up, Australia concede. I was about to reach for the Kleenex. They then get an injurytime winner. Morocco just grabbed a third and have also conceded but quietly confident the 2 goal cushion will see this treble come home.

    Fingers crossed for £181

Maybe a value bet in Brazil’s Serie B tonight at 8.30pm.

    CSA/AL win 11/8

    CSA/AL vs CRB/AL
Home side priced up at 11/8 (betfair) or thereabouts generally. Think this might be based on the fact they lost their last two home games.

No head to heads to draw on but CSA sit 2nd against CRB in 19th (2nd bottom).

CSA have won 5 out of last 7 Serie B matches, CRB only won 4 away games out of their last 24 away matches. Losing 10 out of the last 13 aways.

CRB also without a win in the last 4 Serie B games home or away.
So 11/8 on a home win for me is too big for a team 5 adrift of the leaders Fortaleza and looking to catch up.

    CSA/AL win 11/8
