Mr Fixit’s Top Tips: Let’s get serious on Super Sunday

THE day started badly with some of my more fancied picks beaten by the weather and it took a long time to get better with Leicester winning at Newcastle.

That landed my Super Single although I took Leicester draw no bet and in reality I was a Wolves goal away from making it a profitable day.

There were more comments about how difficult Saturdays are I can see where people are coming from. Too much choice is a problem and all season there have been strange results.

Chelsea winning at West Ham would have bombed many accas early and Wolves' 0-0 at home to a Sunderland side who finished with 10 men was a big surprise. I understand where Nathan is coming from when he says leading teams will sometimes come a cropper against strugglers parking the bus but Wolves have been banging in the goals all season.

Greg and Scott Allot missed out with their bets while it was one out of two for Jordan with Leicester and Rennes scoring. Desmond was the day's best performer with a btts double and over 2.5 goals double that started the day as a treble.

Talking of parking the bus Super Sunday features two managers who could reverse park berfectly into a tight corner. Sam Allardyce is the master of shutting out opponents but that plan often goes out the window in derbies and anyway can Liverpool be stopped these days – they look so powerful going forward.

I expect a Liverpool win and plenty of goals when Everton visit Anfield and right after that we have Man United v Man City. Sparks should fly after the pre-match comments and Mourinho can't park the bus here as he needs a win to close the gap on the leaders to five points.

A draw will suit City but if they win is the title race over? I'd say yes and Paddy Power have already paid out on the trophy being displayed at the Emirates while Chelsea boss Antonio Conte admitted his side's defence of the crown is over.

So it's a big day and in Scotland too where Hibs will fancy their chances of stopping Celtic's unbeaten run at 67. Neil Lennon's men came to close to winning at Parkhead earlier in the campaign but I reckon the leaders will win or draw and make it to 68.

Earlier Southampton entertain Arsenal with the Gunners expected to win and on the Continent big games include Napoli v Fiorentina, Villarreal v Barcelona and Marseille v St Etienne.

For my Super Single I've plumped for Augsburgat home to Hertha Berlin. I've featured Augsburg a few times recently on both to score trebles and they hardly let me down. The y've hit some form too with their only loss in five coming at Bayern Munich.

Hertha on the other hand have lost three out of four and with four of their last five going over 2.5 goals it could a high scorer.

Arsenal have impressed me recently even when losing to Man United. They played well that day but defensive mistakes cost them then a weakened side superbly put away BATE 6-0 in Europe. Southampton's only recent win was against an Everton still under the charge of David Unsworth and if the Gunners are on their game they will win at St Mary's.

For the Top Treble I'm taking them not to lose and adding Udinese at home to Benevento. One of the best stories last weekend was Benevento's keeper netting in injury time to earn them a first point of the season against a poor Milan side.

Can see them returning to normal at an Udinese side who netted eight at home to Perugia in the cup before a superb 3-0 league success at Crotone on Monday. They've won four out of six and should edge out a side who remember have no points and just three goals on the road and are missing a couple of first-choice players.

Complete the treble with Atletico Madrid who travel to leaky Real Betis. Atletico have won five out of six with their only points dropped at Real Madrid and should triumph here even without Antoine Griezmann.

Betis are exciting to watch but recently too many goals have been conceded – 15 in five. Atletico are unbeaten in six visits to Betis and should edge this one.

For a both to scorer treble taking Hibs v Celtic and Man Utd v Man City plus Amiens v Lyon. Amiens have netted six in three at home and can give Lyon a good test.
