IT was a pretty quiet day on the site with Barcelona as expected winning and Feyenoord doing the same.
I couldn't see much value to it was a no bet day for me but well done to any winners.
We had some server problems on Thursday that are hopefully resolved so apologies for that but if it's going to happen at least it was on a day of little football.
There's a bit more to look at tonight with Fiorentina v Juventus the big game as the champs aim to return to the top. We also have Leipzig v Augsburg in the Bundesliga, St Etienne v Marseille in Ligue 1 and Athletic Bilbao v Las Palmas in La Liga.
A fourfold on the favourites – Juve, Leipzig, Marseille and Bilbao – pays 17-2 at Marathonbet and shouldn't be too far away but I need to looke at the games more closely.
In the Championship Cardiff travel to Millwall and Cambridge entertain Lincoln while we have the usual Jupiler League and French Ligue 2 games that are good for goals. Holland's been better in recent weeks.
I've been concentrating on the weekend card and my write-ups for the Daily Record and they're finished now and I've decided to simply go for a double on Juventus and Marseille.
Juve have kept 14 clean sheets out of 15 and while Fiorentina will give them a test they're winless in four at home and crashed 4-1 to Verona in front of their own fans last time out.
Marseille have won five out of six with the only drop points to Monaco. They're full of confidence having hit 15 in two games against Bourg in the cup and Metz in the league. Saints have a poor record against top-half teams this season and lost 3-0 at Marseille earlier in the season.
I also have a Scottish Cup treble that may shorten. It's three hot favourites who should win by at least two and they'll feature among Record tips on the handicaps.
What I can't ignore is a double on Rangers to win at Ayr and Aberdeen to beat Dundee United at home pays just under evens. Add on-fire Kilmarnock, a best 1-5 at home to Highland League Brora, and the treble pays 6-5 which I can't ignore.

Victory enter this game having lost their last two games to the two sides in the competition. The loss of key players has hurt the club, but they do see the return of Geria today. Defensively Victory are as bad as ever, but they are always good for a goal, and I do expect them to contribute today.
Like their hosts, Roar enter this one on the back of a loss, however they are certainly in the better form of the two sides. They seem utterly incapable of keeping a clean sheet, but scoring has not been a problem for them of late.
To put it simply, this is a coin toss as to who could win. Victory traditionally have the upper hand, but form is with Roar at the moment. Having said that, both of the host’s recent losses have been against the top two sides in the competition… so I do fancy Victory to edge it. Goals seems the obvious choice for me though.

Dutch Eerste tonight and I’m on the same team I’ve followed the past few weeks. The Utrecht reserves are still taking beatings from everyone, most recently a 7-0 thumping at Graafschap. Today they host an RKC side who are yet to taste victory on the road this season. All three ties between these two sides have seen BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals and I’m on the same to happen tonight.

Anyway, tonight’s Millwall v Cardiff:
Cardiff are deservedly in the chase for the top 6 finish and must surely fancy their chances at finishing 2nd. Their results this past 2 months, much like Wolves, Derby and Villa have all been terrific. Each week, I have one eye on ” if ” not ” when ” Wolves may drop a few points to allow the chasing pack to close that gap to 2nd spot but its barely budged between the 11 and 15 pts mark.
I also have another eye on who in the top 6-8 is also dropping points. Bristol, Sheff Utd and Leeds have all dropped down a gear – results wise, but 2nd down to maybe 4th, 2 games at this stage with dropped points consecutively could see any of those teams Derby/Villa/Cardiff barely hanging on to a top 6 spot.
Millwall made Derby’s task of getting all the spoils at the Den very tough indeed and in fairness to them, that point was very well deserved. Millwall are never gonna finish in the top 6, they’ll finish mid table and any manager that has to face a top 6 side would be a fool to set up his team to expect anything g more than a point.
I don’t think Cardiff will have it all their own way tonight. I think it will be a very tight affair with few chances. If it doesn’t end all square, then it will be because Cardiff will of taken the game most probably by a single goal.
I think this match has under 2.5 tmg’s written all over it. What are your thoughts guys?

Absolutely goal-fest across (most of) France and I picked out the only one ending 0-0!
Still, always willing to take the risk on the French lower leagues because the value is there. The other ‘National’ game I picked out ended 3-1 with BTTS priced at 13/10 before kick off, so I just picked the wrong one.
