AFTER a Super Saturday I just put up one bet on Sunday and unfortunately, it was beaten by Motherwell not scoring.

I was lucky to keep the BTTS double alive with Aberdeen's last-gasp equaliser against Rangers.

Steven Gerrard was unlucky not to start with a win and I was impressed by the display but reckon he needs another striker.

I suggested there would be a red in the match but thought 23-10 was a little short. Alfredo Morelos walked early and while it was harsh he was silly enough to give the ref a decision to make.

Well done to all the winners including Greg, HullShaker and Jordan and good to see Johnb back with winners on Hibs. I was at a beer festival all day but I reckon Johnb must have been drinking more than me if he's advising bets on his side to win the Premiership.

Hibs are a breath of fresh air with the way they attack and second place is a possibility but not first.

I hope Rangers, Hibs and Aberdeen can give Celtic a title race but at the moment Brendan Rodgers's side remains a level above the rest.

Didn't see any of the Chelsea v Man City game but from what I heard City will again be tough to pin down.

Hull v Aston Villa's the pick of the bunch on Monday and when I've got a clearer head in the morning I'll see if anything jumps out from that game or any others.

It's going to be a busy night so no problem if Monday's a no bet day.

Jordan has picked a tip backed by stats on the comments section but with no write-up. I've added it on here.

@mr-fixit of all of the championship games this weekend, only QPR have failed to score. Surely BTTS would be the way to go with the Hull/Villa game?

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Last three meetings at Hull have gone under 2.5 including two 0-0s. Those stats put me off.

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

      Good call Nathan

You were really unlucky with Motherwell Mr F, they missed 3-4 sitters

Great first weekend for punters overall though

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

      Yeah saw the highlights.

  3. Alves 6 years ago

Need another striker cos Freddo is banned for 2 games. Obviously Burnley games took it out of Aberdeen and squad in depth showed, Celtic Hibs looks a decent 1/2 now

    • elvis parsley 6 years ago

As a Welshman I don’t usually take much notice of SPL but early signs suggest an entertaining season.

Celtic will win as is customery especially as there are 4 closely matched teams vying for 2nd place who will take points off each other in their mini league and will see any points taken off Celtic as a bonus.

Hearts seem to have been overlooked for 2nd but looked quite good yesterday.
To be honest I can’t split hearts hibs Aberdeen or rangers so should see some decent action right through the season.

Morales is a lump of wood, utters dross. If that’s what Rangers are pinning their hopes on to stop 8 in a row then that’s one team out of the supposed ‘title race’ ?.

St Mirren at home then 2 tough away days at Motherwell & Celtic, hypothetically they could be heading too Parkhead 4/5 points adrift after 3 games and a defeat against us will all but kill of their ahem… Challenge

They’ve filled their summer signings with defenders as if that was their only problem. Their front line is abysmal and midfield is full of cloggers with no class. Celtic will stroll too yet another title with Hibs, Rangers, Aberdeen and Hearts fighting for runners up.

Man City and Hibs are 11/10 and 11/8 with sky at the moment- decent double imo. Price will drop come the weekend.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

I don’t think City will beat Arsenal cocker.

    • cockerspaniel 6 years ago

You could be correct macca, but 11/10 is big in my opinion. I am also on Hibs minus one at 4/1. GL with your bets .

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Yeah they are big at that price and it’s understandable to be tempted by it,however i don’t think we will see the same Arsenal as last season.Arsenal should be a lot more organised now they know who is managing them and no player will be in any doubts,i wouldn’t read into City’s win yesterday to much as Chelsea are in trouble as i said a few weeks back and looked like they are weeks away in preperation for the season.

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

Yeah Chelsea looked out of sorts yesterday. Morata already been getting tons of stick, not all his fault though he literally isnt getting any service. Tough times ahead for the blues.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Whats your take ‘alex_mufc83??as a united fan are you not worried for the season ahead??I know i would be, no marquee signing’s and doesn’t look like there will be anyway, other top teams look strong whilst united’s pre season has been pretty lame.No signing’s leads me to believe that this will be Mourihno’s last season(if he last’s that long)i reckon he will be gone within the next couple of months and i’m on that at 10/1.Its strange how Man Utd are struggling to attract the big players now.Lsat nights game v Bayern was a shambles for united not 1 shot on target and only one shot off target, pre season or not thats a concerning set of stats against an open team.

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

Yeah I’m concerned about United. So far it’s looking like a continuation of the second half of last season, slow, sluggish and predictable attacking, only this season with the added issue of demotivation/Manager problems. it’s been a pre-season of excuses which doesn’t instil me with much confidence going into the season. I’m a realist, no red-tinted specs for me.
In my opinion United desperately need some pace in the midfield, despite a somewhat bloated midfield, someone like Perisic would have been ideal. Saying that I’m pleased with what I’ve seen of Fred so far, and do think he’ll be impressive in the PL. He has skill, holds the ball well, very good at passing and running with the ball.
The Bayern game was dross. Whilst pre-season can’t be taken as absolute proof, it does give an indication of performance in the PL – if we were creating and scoring goals I’d be much more optimistic going into the start of the season. Think United will have a fight on their hands just to make top 4, I think we’ll just about do it with Chelsea being in slightly worse shape than we are. Obviously I’m happy to be proven wrong and gladly eat my own hat if United perform better.

    • tennisace 6 years ago

Chelsea are going to take a few weeks yet to get used to Sarri’s system. Lack of striker is worrying.

Can’t see past City, Liverpool 2nd for me but let’s hope for more of a title fight this year

    • alva glen 6 years ago

Go for MAN.C. at Arsenal it will be my big bet of the w/e. They won there at the end of last comfy and I don’t think Arsenal will be any better than last.

    Morning gents,

Been a good weekend and hoping to keep the momentum going into Monday with a trip to Bolivia!

It pays to be fickle in this betting lark and loyalty to struggling teams will get you nowhere but the poorhouse.

As Wilstermann continue to wilt since the return of the Clausara, it may well pay to give them a wide berth; I’ve officially dumped them (for now) and I’m having the tattoo covered up – possibly by one with 3 stars and a lion rampant…

ROYAL PARI VS. NACIONAL POTOSÍ (2000 KO):

Just like Jorge came out of nowhere to blitz the table last year, Royal Pari have found a run of form matched only by the The Strongest – it’s a run that sees them in 2nd place…no mean feat for a newly promoted side playing in a division that has always had it’s pre-ordained favourites.

With just 1 loss and 1 draw in their last 9 games, Pari head into this looking to make it 5 back to back wins; the level of their achievement is reflected well in those last 4 scorelines; 4-2, 0-2, 3-0 and 0-3!

Despite form that could be worse, Nacional Potosi have lost their last 5 games away from home and I’m not sure whether a trip to the Estadio Ramón Tahuichi Aguilera will be top of their ‘places we want to visit’ list.

Two selections to consider but I’d not recommend anything other than humble stakes:

    ROYAL PARI -1 H/CAP…8/5
    (Bet365)
    ??

    ROYAL PARI OVER 2.5 TGS…7/4
    (Bet365)
    ??

    Best of luck ?

bad day yesterday guys. -26 units for the month so far.

    We will bring it back.

We had two instances of a team being 4-1 up in the 9th and losing again yesterday. Rare for it to happen this much.

I’m aware many of you are asleep when this occurs so the idea would be to set up autocashout on Betfair for 85-90% of the profit.

We are going to mainly take MLs, we lost two winners tonight due to the run line. Odds are a bit shorter but better than a loss.

Still working my system out so stay with me.

Mourihno next premier league manager to Leave has been cut from 10/1 now 5/1 and imo this is a solid bet, just been reading a piece by Chris Sutton and he reckons he will be gone by christmas,i reckon he will go before,he could even go in the next few days, obviously he has not been backed by the board in his transfer dealings and this will more than likely make him quit and if results don’t go his way then he’s certainly a gonner.

Hi gents. New layout for posting bets. Find I waffle on the majority of the time, when most of my posts are stat driven and laws of averages unless it’s something I’m more familiar with. So instead I’ll just post stats for reasoning.

    ?? Swedish Superettan – 6:00PM

    Varnamo vs Landskrona

Varnamo concede at least one goal in 75% of their home matches.
Varnamo have scored 73% of their goals at home.
Varnamo have conceded the opening goal in 75% of their matches.
Varnamo have lost 75% of their matches.
Varnamo have lost 75% of their home matches.
Varnamo have lost their last 5 home matches.
Varnamo conceded at least one goal in each of their last 5 home matches.
Landskrona conceded at least one goal in each of their last 7 matches.
Landskrona have lost 71% of their away matches.
Landskrona have scored in their last four games at Varnamo.
Landskrona have won the last five games against Varnamo.

Nothing wrong with being thorough Jordan, if info is available for people to utilise, only a fool would ignore it. You do the write-up means, you’ve done the stat trawling – the hard bit. Your tips always speak for themselves.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Perfect for a comment but not for a post. Need something for an intro.

    • Jordan 6 years ago

      Nathan/Mr F

This new format or posting bets isn’t a dig to those that put details write-ups. What would be the point in that? I don’t have time throughout the day/evening to sit there for an hour and type up an introduction of teams I know little about. Like I said my tips are stat driven, so that’s the reason I’m on it, and people can see that from the stats. Nobody comments on my football posts regardless so may as well leave them here. Not fussed.

    • Jordan 6 years ago

You can see the traffic yourself so I doubt you’d be gaining from a post.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Every post gets individual traffic including yours so posts are beneficial.
All I’m asking for is an intro of 50-100 words so it’s not a lot.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

The stats are fine but I think you need to write a couple of paragraphs to give reasoning – 50-100 words is fine.
We can’t put posts with no write-up although the stats are good to see.

Molde to beat Hibs 17/10 in the first leg at Easter Road on Thursday.

For the big hitters molde 4/9 to qualify past Hibs.

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

prepare to get slaughtered by Johnb….. lol

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

I think it’s a 50-50 call. Hibs playing well just now but need to defend better in Europe.

  21. derekj1978 6 years ago

No doubt. But he lives in a fantasy land when it comes to Hibs. I’m a Motherwell fan and I guess if I tipped up them scoring two or three every game and Motherwell players to be top scorer in the league then it would land now and again. Mostly it wouldn’t. Tipping Hibs to win it, there is simply no chance that will happen. I like Hibs and the way they try to play the game but that kind of talk is mental. The Scandinavians will get a result on Thursday and go through

    • mr h 6 years ago

If you tipped a Motherwell player to be top scorer you’d get sectioned ? Hibs only chance of a trophy is either the League Cup or Scottish Cup and they’re gonna have to go some too take either from us tbh. The treble-treble is a huge possibility despite the denials from Rogers, your damn tooting it’s on his mind

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Strangely last season’s top scorer played for Kilmarnock – so why not someone from Motherwell or Hibs? Anything is possible especially if bigger clubs share the scorers as Celtic did last season.

    • mr h 6 years ago

Because none of Motherwells strikers are as good as Kris Boyd.

Curtis Main has 213 league appearances and scored 31 goals, his highest scoring league campaign was 8 for Doncaster Rovers.

Curtis Sammon has 392 league appearances and scored 62 goals, he’s managed double figures just once in 2010/11 season.

Now how are any of these 2 going too finish top scorer? I get the whole it’s improbable but not impossible but none of these two will be top scorer

    • mr h 6 years ago

As for a Hibs player it may well be Mr F, Karembi and Mclaren are both dangerous players playing in a dynamic attacking team under Lennon. Not like Robinsons cloggers who kick anything above grass level

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Main will get more than Sammon but as has pointed out remember Michael Higdon.

    • derekj1978 6 years ago

      Michael Higdon ?

    • derekj1978 6 years ago

Top scorer for the steelmen not that long ago

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Yeah Higdon was top scorer a few years ago and obviously Boyd, who was 100-1 at Christmas, did it last season.

I reckon btts is a stick on at 4-5 and a hibs win spread of 2-1 3-1 or 3-2

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

Yeah i think BTTS best shout for that game, both have goals in them, and both are leaky

Any Hull or Villa fans able to throw in their 10 cents worth on tonight’s match would be greatly appreciated. Going just on the games played this weekend in the championship, only QPR have not scored, but as Mr F said, the last 3 matches have all gone under 2.5 with 2x 0-0’s. I think I saw somewhere a 1-1 happened last season. Hull are without Abel Hernandez and there’s a 3 way tussle for who will spearhead their front 3, it seems a weak point for Hull, and last years Villa has long gone with John Terry, Lewis Grabben and another all leaving Villa park. Most of the Villa news is about the ” will he stay of go saga ” around the Jack Grealish issue – know the feeling ( we have it at Derby over Vydra’s future ). I’m sure Villa would like to know where they stand and quick, so they can make a plan b’ if they lose him. It seems pretty much like ” sh*t or bust ” for them, they’ve had new investment from yet another billionaire, so the finances are in place, but time is not on their side to fill the gaps by the 3 players they’ve lost. If they don’t get out the division soon, they could be here for a lot longer than they want. Villa had a solid defence last year, it gave them the X factor, but i’m wondering if that is enough to see them push a mid table team like Hull aside or if it will be the 4th draw from 4 on the bounce in the head to heads??

I might be barking up the wrong tree, hence i’m asking if we have any resident Hull or Villa fans that can either advise or dissuade on this one.

    Thanks in advance.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

I can’t really call it although would slightly favour Villa. But if I can’t call it I don’t bet on it.

    • HullShaker 6 years ago

Only thing I’d add is that there is still a hell of a lot of bad blood re Allam’s ownership with many die-hard fans refusing to attend games. Not the be all and end all but it does have an impact on the team and general atmosphere especially at home.

    • simpledxb 6 years ago

@nathanufton – resident Villa fan here. Lifelong villa fan and saw them in pre-season in Dresden. For me this game could go one of 3 ways (i.e. I am not touching it with a barge pole). As always, depending on ‘which Villa turn up’ we could i) slaughter them; ii) Brucey bore draw footy; or iii) start last season like we did at Reading and play like a pub team.

We had a strong pre-season – scoring more than we normally do pre-season and a few surprise showings. Bruce was trying a new 3-5-2 system which resulted in us scoring a lot but not being as solid as we have at the back (adapting to a new system).

Am watching this with baited breath. Alternatively am just praying for Derby’s luck in your first game – I cannot believe Reading were not out of sight at HT….

Ironically if I was going to bet on anything it would be goals…. BUT it all depends which system Bruce goes with tonight. We should be beating teams like Hull week in week out… but I would wait a while to see how things settle at Villa before betting on or against them. My two cents.
      #UTV

    • nathanufton 6 years ago

Appreciate it mate, was thinking of btts or possibly a Villa win, but as you know more about Villa than I do, you’ve helped me dodge a bullet. I’ll avoid it. No sense in being daft. I’ll wait and see how they bed in with results.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

      Cheers, my thoughts exactly.

    • simpledxb 6 years ago

@nathanufton etc… Goals it was. First opening day win since about 1914 or something ridiculous. Awesome 2nd half performance and the Scottish Cafu is a new legend. UTV.

I fancy Forest to beat Tescos (Baggies) tomo…

    • aw 6 years ago

Well… what Villa will turn up? Missing promotion meant that pre season dealings went on hold until the third richest men in football (allegedly) took over and even now we have only brought Tuanzebe in on loan from Man Utd, and a Keeper on the books at Athletico Madrid but has never played for them. Rumour has it he’s going to be second choice anyway.

Pre season went ok. Wins against the mighty Telford, Walsall, Burton and Dynamo Dresden don’t really suggest any kind of form. Those games were played 3.5.2 however we had no striker available for the German match, and only Kodjia is believed to be fit now so will it be 4.5.1 like last season?

Positively Ritchie De Leat has played well as had André Green so I’d expect them to start. The Grealish saga will determine a lot this season. Keeping him will be a massive boost. Selling him may provide other opportunities such as Nick Powell from Wigan rumoured to be coming in.

Until Villa play tonight fans don’t have much of an idea so personally I’d keep clear for a week!

Just been hearing Pulisic from Dortmund is likely to sign a pre contract with Liverpool to join next season, the same as Neiby kieta,if you can find a bookie that is offering pre contract then take it it’s very likely to happen as he hasn’t signed a new contract with Dortmund. Also if you have backed Fekir to join then keep the faith as it could still be on.

      Maccathered,

Good evening sir, hope your well not really getting time myself off late just busy with work and stuff! Always checking in when possible. A pre-contract pulsic deal sounds perfect. And so want fekir top player and something tells me it’s a done deal! Hopefully have a fast start in the premiership as pre season have looked proper fit and ready. #YNWA

On a separate note, Derby are doing a medical for a Chelsea defender, he’s a youngster but highly rated. I think a few teams were tracking him, but once again it looks like inside info from Lampard and Jody Morris has swung this in Derby’s favour.
Also if the rumour mill is to be believed, Derby are about to sign experienced Ipswich striker Martin Waghorn for £5 mill raising to £7.5 mill. It looked like Middlesbrough were in pole position for his services 24 hrs ago with Derby out of the running but a new offer tabled seems to of scuppered Middlesbrough and Sheff Utd’s chances of signing him. It seems like Derby’s idea of ” trimming the squad and wage bill ” equates to ” Just sign here Mr Mel Morris, if your missus moans, buy her a new kitchen “. This would put Waghorn in a race for a any one of 3 main strikers in a 4-3-3 formation ( with 1 slot available each match ).
The 4-3-3 formation would suit our new line-up but leaves very little room for the inclusion of a 4-2-3-1 with Vydra playing a few yards behind the front man in the number 10 shirt. I noticed on Saturday, Tom Lawrence was wearing the number 10 shirt but playing on the left wing. Any position other than off the shoulder of the point man is completely unworkable for Vydra, so it begs the question, if we don’t sell him, where do we play him AND no mention whatsoever about Chris Martin….

evening jordan son, far preferred your old format of posting tbh personally like reading the tipsters on here mr f, greg, ace, desmond, hull etc’s write ups, thoughts, quips, bit of humor etc……………. stats we all look at h2hs, form etc etc and make what we can of it, again just me and not a criticism but stats are a boring read…………… remember ryan allans posts? just pages of percentages and horrible to read……… they do have their place in a post though if preceded by some sort of write up, GL with yer punts………………

No joy from the Swedes after a decent start. Back tomorrow gents. Well done any winners and good luck tonight.

  31. nathanufton 6 years ago

@hullshaker , I took a gander at your Bolivia post because my ” go to ” Bolivian team The Strongest play tonight. I know their home games are at altitude which is a massive advantage but the way I look at it is if you’re playing away from home and the home side is relatively closer to sea level than a team used to playing in the clouds, I am inclined to believe that The Strongest players physiologically would take the ” Oxygen ” situation into these away games and run the legs off the opposition.
Plumb last Real Patosi Vs The Strongest, looks like a shoe in for an away win, goal stats for home 4 scored, 13 conceded, away team 14 scored, 4 conceded.

I’m seeing odds of around 1/2 for The Strongest win.

    • HullShaker 6 years ago

Evening Nathan – just rooting out a potential Night Owl and this fixture is one of three on the shortlist; early thoughts for value would be The Strongest -1 on the h/cap…it would have cleared 4 of the last 5 H2H’s and on current form looks good to go – pays 11/10 and looks a fairer shout than Strongest team goals.

Hope that helps sir and good luck.

lol. I just looked in twice at the villa game, both score inside 17 mins ( first post on this thread ) – then looking like this was gonna stay 1-1 and Villa start turning the screw. They were 4/1 when they went 1 down.

Plenty of cover available in Bolivia as Royal Pari take a 2-0 lead into half-time and I’m staying put for the Night Owl and sharing a front row seat with Derby fanatic Nathan Upton…

REAL POTOSI VS. THE STRONGEST (2215 KO):

Reasoning above and The Strongest are looking bang back in form as they travel to a team who are not in the best of shape.

As mentioned, the La Paz giants would have cleared the handicap in 80% of the previous 5 H2H’s and nothing much to put me off the same again given current form and standings:

    THE STRONGEST -1 H/CAP…11/10
    (Bet365)
    ???

    Best of luck.

Writing off my bookings at Hull. All bets down , well done all winners.

  44. nathanufton 6 years ago

Real Patosi’s ground is the highest in the world, I think around 3700m above sea level or a shade under 4x the mt Snowden. The Strongest also play at altitude, but this fixture last year saw The Strongest win 2-1, but the last time Patosi visited The Strongest, they were thumped 6 nil.
Had a feeling Patosi were more akin to sea level, turns out my ” hunch ” was wrong. But either way, if Patosi have the advantage of constantly playing at a higher altitude than The Strongest and have home advantage and still lose the previous head to head, i’d say their ” advantage ” is nullified. With stats ( goals ) almost 180 out of sync with eachother – 4 scored, 13 conceded vs The Strongests 14 scored to 4 conceded ( in 4 games ), as @hullshaker has pointed out, the value bet looks like taking the -1 h/c for the away side. I’ve ridden my luck a little today, I cannot grumble, I never took my own thoughts on the BTTS Hull/Vlla game – a kicker – but sensibly rode that game out to let some stuff bed in. So i’ll have me a slice of The Strongest straight win at around 1/2. I need sleep, good luck folks.

  45. HullShaker 6 years ago

Final score 5-1 to Royal Pari and I’m cock-a-hoop with that one – a team way out of leftfield who I’ve watched fly right under the bookies radar ?

    (Bet365)
    ??

    ***WON***

    ROYAL PARI OVER 2.5 TGS…7/4
    (Bet365)
