IT'S the start of a busy week with the latest round of Champions League qualifiers taking centre stage.

There are also two games in the English Championship and while stats don't really back it up the best bets could be both to score after just one of 24 teams (QPR) failed to net on the opening weekend.

Again the English games look tough to call with a draw a possibility at Nottm Forest v West Brom while Middlesbrough could edge out Sheffield United.

I've picked out a treble from the Champions League and the reasoning is on a separate Champions League post.

Well done to all the winners last night including HullShaker and nathan and check out previews for Tuesday game from some of our contributors. We asked for match previews and there was a good response with the first ones up now.

Put this up now as away out early doors – few other games in the lower leagues and might try and piece a longshot together but main pick as follows…

    BILLERICAY TOWN VS. CONCORD RANGERS:

I tipped up Billericay as my main antepost last week and have been following their dealings and growth over the last few months; they have established a really impressive squad who will take some beating this campaign.

One of the few sides who may come close are local rivals Concord who play out of Canvey Island and who, themselves, have assembled a  host of ‘localised’ stars from the Essex and surrounding area under the watchful eye of new gaffer Sammy Moore who has built a new look side over the summer.

Players of a decent pedigree for both sides will be on show including a certain Billy Knott who Bradford, Lincoln and even Chelsea (Youth) fans may remember and it looks like Concord will give the hosts a tough game – it will likely be one of the few matches that I wouldn’t confidently tip Billericay goals and an emphatic win with so much lower league talent on show.

I’m taking both teams to find the net in what could be a cracker of a game:

    One selection:

    BTTS…4/5

Cheers @bettingman1 – it look a long time to get my head around the pitfalls of SA football and the leagues/teams to avoid as well as learning about the ones to follow and trends to look out for!

    Liverpool v Torino (FRIENDLY 7.30)
Over 3.5 goals at 1/1 (NAP)*****
Over 4.5 goals at 12/5 (NB)****
    Over 5.5 goals at 9/2
This is the last friendly before kick off at the weekend and as it’s at Anfield i’m willing to put my money on the goals markets.Jurgen klopp will probably play the first eleven for the first half the rotate to the second eleven second half, that doesn’t put me off one bit as the second eleven has been as deadly as the first eleven. One thing football fans will notice this upcoming season is Liverpool’s new approach where they hold an exceptionally high line, which in turn means opponents will be stifled even more, this new tactic comes as Allison will be used a sweeper keeper.I expect Liverpool to get caught out from time to time but if it means winning more games then the benefit of it out weighs the risk,Man City are the only team to adopt such a style and Liverpool are following suit.aka the high press.
    Best of luck

Morning Mint lad i’m good mate hope your well too.I get the feeling also that Fekir is a done deal, there’s a surprise for us fans and i reckon it could be Fekir,Pulisic’s father prefers him to join Liverpool and a pre contract is more than likely, lets hope so.Best of luck mate for the upcoming season.

I’ll be keeping an eye on the card markets in the Astana v Zagreb game as a certain Mr Beaton is the man in the middle. I grew up with this lad and the boys done well. Maybe he didn’t get many birthday/xmas/valentines cards as a kid and that’s why he dishes out the cards regularly. Even his first season which he took charge of just 5 games he managed 20Y & 2R and since then he’s not relented with a cards per game average over 3 for 6 seasons. He started this season with 4 in the Killie match at the weekend. A match penalty could also be possible as he’s been known too point too the spot occasionally

    • nathanufton 6 years ago

You know, inside info like that is Gold !! I have a buddy, he was my section Corporal in Cyprus and he shoved me into football refereeing ( probably so he’d have less games to officiate ) but I did enjoy it. Well he moved out to Australia ( lost count of how many of the guys I’ve served with have moved there ) anyway, about 4 years ago, he started coaching an amateur women’s football team, we’re talking the worst of the worst women’s team you could imagine. They started their first season and they won I think 14 games on the bounce and were crowned league champions. 12 months earlier they were last. I spent 12 months looking for bookies that covered that market, but because the league was so low down the pecking order, nobody took bets on it. Its that long ago now, I cannot even remember what the side was. Imagine, we’d of had the heads up on all of that and probably driving a nice new car. I’m gonna add Mr Beaton ( billy no-mates ) to my active ref radar and see how it pans out. This is really human nature, but worth thinking about; when a person has literally no clout in the social pecking order – no power, being the man in the middle can give them an injection of confidence, quite often that person who’s spent most of his life being ignored by everyone will thrive in that environment of extra responsibility and take any/every opportunity to exert his authority because come the final whistle, he’s back to being billy no-mates. Being the man in the middle, may well be his ONLY chance of getting any credibility in life.
      Cheer @mr h

Yesterday, just about everything I looked at came in, some I bet on, some I stayed away from. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but when it goes belly up, it nullifies any progress you’ve made particularly in the style of betting which i’m currently having a bash at.

Start with a small amount, in my case a £5, pick one or two off here and there and see how many days you can keep it going.

I started my day on Sunday with a tiny 2/7, in the evening I picked up I think a 1/2 to put me around £9.
Yesterday, I kind of did my own thing and took Ostersunds away at a massive 29/20. I didn’t tip it because I wasn’t entirely convinced as to why such a big price was there and somehow forgot to ask the community on thoughts, so I apologise for that. I think they won 2 nil.
I’d ummed and arred about BTTS or maybe a close fought win for Villa and both sets of fans and Mr F advised to steer clear, I did. Both teams had a goal inside 17 mins and got Villa added 2 more around the 70 minute mark. That’s the problem with betting, when we do our homework and the numbers look good, we have to take the advice on affer. I cannot grumble because the community gave some interesting feedback on both sides and it created a safety net. So thanks guys, I know it played out how I kinda expected but that extra bit of info on any other day would of saved me from a bank buster.
I then saw hullshaker having an eye on the Bolivian league and he picked a belter out, but my question was about the other big game – Real Patosi vs The Strongest. My interest was with the away side. His input recommended value in taking a -1 h/c on the away team. Both of his Bolivian tips coasted in. Cheers @hullshaker . I cautiously took a straight win to see my new balance of around £36.

I’ve been looking into Quarabag winning and a BTTS in the Ajax game, @mr-fixit already had Quarabag win and overs 2.5’s in the Ajax game. I shall carry on with a bit of personal admin, I then have until the 6pm kick off to see what I can find out.

I don’t want to drive a sh*tty stick into the middle of a hornets nest here, but am I missing something here? Notts Forest priced so short for promotion. I know they’ve brought in fresh faces, I know they have a quality manager, but they’ve really struggled this past 4 or so years to keep pace ( points wise ) with the top 6-8. We’re not talking a few points off, but there or there abouts 20 pts from the top 6. If you remove the likes of Rotherham, Bolton and Reading ( possibly Wigan, possibly Swansea ) who could find themselves regularly in the trapdoor fight, there’s still 8-10 teams who’s squads are more bedded in and equipped to push for a top 6 finish than Forest. What am I missing here guys? I know there’s at least one Forest fan on here ( he gives me grief every so often so I know he’s reading these posts ) Can you share please?

Burnley are in talks to sign Matej Vydra permanently from Derby County, with Nahki Wells moving in the other direction on loan, according to Sky sources.

Another striker. How many doe Lampard want on the books? I kinda consigned myself to figuring out that the shape Lampard wants to play wouldn’t accommodate Vydra. Just hope we get more than 11 mill for him. I think with add-ons, if it happens, we might see a fee closer to what I think he’s worth £16-18 mill.

  21. cockerspaniel 6 years ago

    I like the look of over 9 corners. L/Pool v Torino . 1/1 bet365
Sky are only offering 8/11 for the same bet.

    • nathanufton 6 years ago

bet365 have always been a bit of a step ahead on the corners market. If you can hold off for 5 mins and no corner comes in, you might be able to lower the line in the sand by 1 or take an enhanced price.

  22. GregBrowning 6 years ago

    ??????? Non league Tuesday???????

It’s round two of fixtures for the three conference divisions – historically the conference south has always been a bit of a gem for goals. It’s hard so early in the season to work out where to go for goals but have picked out a double – there’s also a good opportunity from the Vanarama National League

    Skybet Speical

12 matches from the Vanerma National Legaue

I think the bookies are being a bit generous with markets set for total match goals . 31+ goals in all 12 matches is good value in my opinion. You Always get a coupe of games that see 4 or 5 goals. There was 26 scored on Saturday and worth some teams already showing their defence frailties I’m happy to get on this

31+ match goals in the Vanarama National League 10/11 (NAP)

Qurabag downed my rolling acca today. I took them to win doubled up with the Ajax btts.
WBA got an 87th minute equaliser against Forest but Middlesbrough pushed Sheff Utd aside with a resounding 3 nil win. I know its early doors and there’s many twists and turns left but BTTS seems the way to go so far in this years championship.
I’ll be around over the next few days but I need to get my head around the start of what could be a new chapter in my life.

My own thread on this site. Its been a blast being part of this community and I am really stoked to be chosen to hopefully add extra value to this already awesome bunch of guys and gals. My written English needs a little tweaking and i’ll make sure my stats are spot on. If only my old English language teachers could see this now…. 4 attempts to pass my O’ level, yet I have a very small foot in a very big door called sports writing. I have to try to find something of value in the small match between Derby and Leeds at the weekend.
    Wish me luck guys.

Good luck – and don’t worry too much about the language as we can edit.
Getting the tips right is more important – and that way you might earn more than the teacher.

    Liverpool v Torino
    Over 3.5 goals (NAP)***** WON
    Over 4.5 goals lost
    Over 5.5 goals lost
took over 1.5 first half goals at 5/6 so still happy with that, missed penalty also, plenty to look forward this coming this season and got a great double lined up for the weekend, plenty of value.
    Well done all winners.

    Well done all winners

On a side note, newly promoted Alty just beat FC United 4-3 away. What a result.

My second team, home town, great to see them putting in a solid following the 2-2 draw v Leamington on Saturday I watched. Great atmosphere.

No signs of promotion fear here, going to keep a close eye on them and be at a fair few of the home games when I can. A team to watch for Team goals at good odds.
