WEDNESDAY was wonderful but Thursday was terrible – that's how it goes in betting as there are always ups and downs.

I didn't fancy too much in the Europa League but wasn't the only one to think AC Milan would beat Arsenal.

In the end the Gunners were too good for a side that didn't show up and it was possibly a win for Arsene Wenger's experience against a younger manager in Rino Gattuso.

There were winners though with Greg landing a nice 9-5 over 1.5 goals fourfold and Scott's members bet winning at 4-5 thanks to Atletico Madrid and under 3.5 match goals.

HullShaker was among the winners on the site so well done to you all.

On Friday I'll be focused on Hibs v Hearts which should be an Easter Road battle royal and I'll put up a separate preview.

Elsewhere Girona should beat Deportivo at home in La Liga while in the Bundesliga Mainz face Schalke while Roma tackle Torino in Serie A and Monaco travel to Strasbourg.

There are the usual lower-league games in Holland and France so watch out for tips from Greg and others.

I haven't much time to look at tonight's matches but have picked out a treble. Always fancied Girona and Roma and adding in Braga at home to Moreirense,

Roma had suffered a form dip before beating Napoli 4-2 away which was a great result. They have won five in a row at home to Torino in Serie A but lost to their rivals in the cup at the Olympic Stadium in December.

Girona are having a great season and sit a lofty seventh. Deportivo on the other hand lie second bottom and could struggle at a side who have won three out of four with their only loss against Barcelona.

Sean Ireland has posted a good write-up tipping a double on Braga and Girona so check that out while Jordan is going for Girona to score 2+.

Morning gents, wow Arsenal winning a football match and they did so with ease and that was one reason why i didn’t Nap Milan even though i still lost on them,I napped over 2.5 goals which should of landed with the amount of chances but it was one of them nights where it wasn’t meant to be,just wondering if Arsenal are playing like they are in the premier league to avoid the europa next season, looked a different team last night.

Al duhail play at 510 today, prices on bet 365 will appear around 5pm, I’ll be having a look then and post something. Prices are available just now at skybet but it’s limited and there’s no team goals option. I fancy them to bag at least 4 today. They won the reverse fixture 8-2 and have netted 23 times in the last 5 meetings between the sides.

Stats certainly suggest it Sean, could do with Cannavaro coming out of retirement and lacing his boots back up to sort out that defence first hand. I’m gonna take on Alan to score at Evens as long as he starts. Made a blistering start last weekend.

    • sean567 6 years ago

I know he’s short priced but I’d be likely to side with goulart to score twice myself. Takes the pens and after netting the first 2 Chinese games and then 4 in midweek in the afc he wont be short on confidence

    for tomorrow
    Man Utd v Liverpool
Liverpool to win at 7/4 (NAP)*****
    Over 2.5 goals at 9/10***
    Over 3.5 goals at 9/4**
How unusual the bookies can’t separate these two and the game is been played at Old Trafford, both teams are 7/4 to win the game and i know where my money is going. Before anyone says red tinted spectacles think about it Man Utd have a massive game on Tuesday night which is bigger than this game in all honesty, whats more important finishing second in the league or making the next round of the champions league,Liverpool have already done that and did it at a canter,Man utd have it all to do so surely we are not going to see the strongest side from Maurice,if we do i will be surprised but even so Liverpool are the better side here,my only concern is that Liverpool have not been tested for a long time now but given Liverpool’s away form and there ability to score with ease i see value on the away side here.
    Best of luck

    • pageone 6 years ago

@maccathered, am a diehard United fan. But since you are the guide, I follow your lead.

    • chelseagirl 6 years ago

How your views have changed from the last game when you said these games are tight affairs with hardly any goals. However I do agree that Liverpool should win this game i will be on them indeed i have doubled them with RANGERS and both to score in their respective games which gives a 30/1 dub. I will single these bets too.

  15. maccathered 6 years ago

It’s also worth backing Liverpool to win 4-1 or 5-1 50/1 and 150/1 respectively.

    • ste_smith 6 years ago

To counter this point. Man Utd have conceded 6 PL goals at home all season having already played Man City, Spurs and Chelsea.

    • onetrue21 6 years ago

United fans getting their excuses in early this week.
Plain and simple….we are a better side than them, we have better players than them and are in much better form than them.
One of my rules is not to back my own side but 9/5 is very tempting.
Massive week for them…..we do them tomorrow and the pressure is on big time during the week.
Still the biggest game in the country tomorrow…always has been always will be.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

I back my side with confidence.Salah will be raring to go,one thing Man utd cannot do and thats attack and defend, they showed that against Crystal palace, they do one or the other.

    • hudson 6 years ago

As a neutral I find this comment confusing “Plain and simple….we are a better side than them, we have better players than them and are in much better form than them.”
Yet they are 2 points ahead – imagine what they will be like when their form picks up!!!

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Well don’t be confused mate ,it’s quite simple,Man utd are probably at the best they can be,Liverpool are improving at a rate of knots and getting better each game, they are the second highest scorers in the league and at this present time the most inform team, yes they are two points ahead but they were 11 ahead at one point so that in itself should tell you something.

    • hudson 6 years ago

      ???

    • chelseagirl 6 years ago

Maybe the biggest game in England but the biggest game has always been the OLD FIRM. Rangers win on Sun. around 4/1.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Then that stat is about to change.

    • ste_smith 6 years ago

Yep, Liverpool will be added to the list of teams they’ve played ?

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

We’ll see what happens. My thoughts are that it’s going to be a close game and we are going to be well up for it – regardless of the CL game. This is a fierce rivalry match with a lot of pride at stake. Do not think there will be a drubbing that’s for sure.

    • onetrue21 6 years ago

I cant see that many goals either…..baring in mind Sat in the Kop the last 2 at Anfield was like a week in HMP Walton….they were so anti football….United mustered TWO yes TW0 shots on target in those 2 games.
They will shut up shop again tomorrow no question…they are over the moon with 0-0 again.
I’d be much more confident backing the away win than a goalfest.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

They can’t be anti football at home after all they are the biggest club in the world lol

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

That’s what I think, with the CL game in mind Mou will set out to defend and counter. on Saturday. Yes it’s at Old Trafford and the players will be up for it, but at the end of the day rightl or wrong, a point for United really isn’t bad – it keeps us above Liverpool and if we don’t go all guns blazing we’ll have energy left for the big clash against Sevilla. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love for United to go for it and batter yee haha.
Another low scoring affair for me this, tough to call a winner between the two sides, but think my lads might just knick it – my hunch is Rashford to score.
      Anyway, we’ll see!

    • maccathered 6 years ago

You wish United couldn’t batter a fish.

    Morning guys

    CSL bet builder
    Guangzhou O2.5TGs
    Alan ATGS
    Goulart ATGS
    5/1

In Guangzhou’s last three home games they have scored 4, 4 & 5 team goals. In each of these games Alan & Goulart have both scored at least one each. In the last 2 head to heads at home with Changchun, Guangzhou have also covered this goal line scoring 3 both times and in the last H2H, guess what – Alan and Goulart both scored!

Incidentally, if I could have added Guangzhou to score a penalty I might have added that as they have scored one in their last 3 games also!

    Good luck folks!

Hi gents. Short price from Spain tonight but at me that shouldn’t cause too much problems. La Coruna have been in poor spirits for some time now. They’ve only score once in their last six games, and lost five of their last six away from home, conceding 21 goals in the process.

Girona have won their last five at home to nil, so I’m hoping that continues with a couple of home goals.

    Strasbourg vs Monaco

Ok guys, you’d remember the 90/1 First Goalscorer winner I picked out a few weeks ago. I’m on him again tonight. Strasbourg are playing at home to Monaco. If Jean Eudes Aholou can score away to PSG then the midfielder every chance to score at home against Monaco. He’s scored 5 goals in 27 appearances.

The price difference with 888sport is huge compared to other bookies. He’s available at very decent odds and worth a few quid. I’ll be on him for first and anytime goalscorer and hopefully I’ll be increasing my weekend betting fund. Here’s an idea of the prices so you can see that he’s way overpriced. 888sport have definitely made a mistake with this one.

    First Goalscorer
    34/1 888sport
    12/1 Paddy Power
    11/1 Betfred
    10/1 Skybet
    10/1 Hills
    10/1 Ladbrokes
    10/1 Coral

    Anytime Goalscorer
    13/1 888sport
    4/1 Paddy Power
    4/1 Betfred
    10/3 Ladbrokes
    10/3 Skybet
    10/3 Coral
    3/1 Hills

Good luck if you decide to get on.

    Win Double
BRAGA….won their last four games in all competitions, including a 6-0 demolition of Estoril last time out. They have won 10 of their last 11 home games in the league, and six of those ten wins were by two goals or more. Moreirense have lost eight of their last 11 on their travels. They really struggle to score against the big teams: in games against Porto, Benfica, Sporting and Braga, they have scored just once in six outings.
GIRONA..Girona have won their last five games on home soil, scoring 13 goals and conceding none. In contrast to that, Deportivo have lost seven of their last eight on the road including some real thumpings such as a 7-1 loss at Real Madrid and a 5-0 reverse at Real Sociedad.
Double pays 4/3 Skybet GOOD LUCK

Anyone on here watch the Guangzhou game, been paid out on Anytime for Alan but 2+ goals has been marked down as a loser. Various sources say he got a double but wondering if one was potentially an own goal maybe?

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

You need tell the bookie it’s being reported Alan scored the fourth and fifth.
Ask who their arbiter is – that is who decides for them the scorers.
If there’s a doubt ask them to check tapes.

    Afternoon gents,

Thanks for the mention Mr F – was well pleased with the Wilstermann goals but the later picks were both losers (though in my defence I stated the gamble and that very low stakes were a must)

Two games that interest me this evening; one in Iceland and one in Paraguay – will write up the latter later…

    VALUR VS. ÍA (1900 KO):

Valur’s games are worth looking at for two reasons: goals or corners – I’ve ummed and arred about it and have plumped for the former.

The three 2017 H2H’s saw 6, 6 and 4 match goals and it’s well worth noting that Valur have scored 6-3-1-4-3-6 TEAM goals within the last 3 seasons at home against tonight’s opposition.

    Threeselections to consider:

    VALUR OVER 2.5 TGS…20/27
    ????

    VALUR OVER 3.5 TGS…37/20
    ??

    VALUR OVER 4.5 TGS…17/4
    ?

    Best of luck.

Bumped into Don Cowie of Hearts in the hairdressers an hour ago and his words were “tonight will be tough”.
He said Berra has had an injection and should play but they still have a few injuries…the youbg lad on loan from United a big loss.
You know Lennon will have them fired right up with Leveins words ringing in all their ears.
Hibs at home 5/6 on current form too good a price to dismiss for me.

    Afternoon gents

Holland looks like the place to be tonight – French card looks tricky with nothing standing out

    Telstar v Helmond
    De Graffshcap v Dordrecht

You could pick any of the Dutch Juplier games for goals tonight but have opted for these two – all four likely to get in the score sheet and that should lead us to goals. Telstar have seen both sides score in their last 7 games with 5 of them seeing 5 or more goals. They are strong at home and should manage a couple against a struggling Helmond side

Dordrecht have won 5 of their last away from home – whilst the hosts have also won 5 of their last 6 games – should see both on the scoresheet with neither side defensively strong

Over 2.5 match goals double 1/1 (Bet365) (NAP)

    *****************************

    Skybet specials for me tonight

34+ Goals to be scored in the 10 Dutch matches – there are always games that produce 5+ goals and they will offset the few games that only manage a couple of goals

34+ Goals to be scored 4/5

Will be on the usual first half goals and over 1.5 goals in both the Dutch and French legaues

    • Jordan 6 years ago

34 looks a good total tonight, Greg. I’m on two other games that I’ve picked out for goals so here’s hoping ??

@mr-fixit , just an early early heads up on the up and coming Notts forest V Derby match. Derby have a growing list of injury worries ahead of the 2.30pm Sunday kick-off.
George Thorne and Ledley are both injured, with Ledley possibly out for a month, Huddlestone is also injured but racing to try to get fit for the match. If he does get fit, I have no ideas how Derby will figure out who to sit in front of the defence with him because its square pegs and round holes. Without back-up in the defensive midfielder role, Huddlestone is 2 yards off the pace leaving us very vulnerable.

We’ve played 4-2-3-1 most of the season and since we’ve loaned/sold/lost the main guys who played the 4-3-3 ( Bryson/Hendrick/Hughes/Russell/Martin ) I doubt the gaffer will opt for that formation. Our ace up the sleeve is Vydra playing off the striker, but with Nugent also injured, Vydra being played anywhere else on the pitch is a no no.

In 31 matches between the 2 sides, there has never been a 0-0. Also ignoring the last time we played them at their ground that never yielded a red card, 4 of the previous 5 ties at the city ground had seen a red card.

Vydra – scoreless I think in the last 4 matches for the rams has scored 9 goals against Forest in 8 appearances. On the reverse fixture early this season, it took him just 25 seconds to open the scoring that saw the rams take a 3 nil win and the bragging rights.

Forest will be fired up for this, they never capitalised on their great win away to QPR with a 0-0 at Norwich and it seems like a distant memory since the last time Derby won. ( QPR equalised in the 87th minute ). Derby are still yet to do the league double on anyone this season, yet we always manage to up our game on big occasions. There is no bigger game for us, and to stick one on our most despised rivals in their own back yard would be enough to almost repay the fans for the run of form that has effectively ended our dreams of auto-promotion. For Forest, for the same reasons, this game IS their most important match of the season. They’re not getting relegated, they’re not gonna make the playoffs, but they will fancy their chances against my beloved that have yet again hit the season run-in for the 4th straight season now. Well we wouldn’t want to deprive the reds of at least something to celebrate for another season. Derby’s freefall.

Its gonna be an interesting game. I said when they appointed Aitor Karanker that he’s a quality manager. Forest have been blowing hot and cold since his appointment, but they’re making progress. If they stick with him and he’s given time, maybe not next season, but the one after, Forest could be capable of being a team nailed onto a top 4th to 8th instead of where they’ve been for the past 4 or 5 years.

Point to note, Aitor Karanker has managed a team that has beaten the rams on 4 of 5 occasions and drawn once. I think he was manager of Middlesbrough when they used to take us for 6 points each season. He’s a bit like Mick McCarthy, but with a personality. He – much like Mick McCarthy manages a crap side, BUT some teams – like the rams, he knows how to play against.

We’re due a fiery affair in this match and cards could be the way to go if the bookies are not too stingy with where they draw the line. Vydra is an ever present goal threat and really should be adding to his tally. With so many defensive midfielders out, Derby are going to have to go for it and field an all out attack minded squad. Derby have been very average of late. Aside from the last match – 1-1 v QPR, Derby had conceded at least 2 goals in their previous 4 matches.
I think this will be a high scoring match.

As soon as I get any late team/injuries news/formations, i’ll post. I have until about 1.30pm Sunday to come up with something worthwhile to bet on.

Banter aside, I know we have a resident Forest fan on here. I’d be interested to hear your thoughts about mine + your own – for the benefit of the site.

    • elvis parsley 6 years ago

      Forest are inconsistent.
Derby are having their annual arsenal type slump, and will start winning when promotion is gone.
Score draw for me 1-1 or 2-2

    • nathanufton 6 years ago

Interesting. The bookies seem to have this down as a 1-1. Auto promotion is out of sight now and what with Fulham seemingly being the most consistent side in the league, they’re not out of the race yet to join Wolves, maybe even catch them.
My concern for Derby is the defensive midfielder problem as stated above. + Nugent up front, although he’s been inconsistent with finding the net, brings the best out of Vydra, now Nugent is crocked too, Jerome showed promise up front for the first few games but he’s in a goal glut.
Its a shame about Thorne, although he’s not totally out of the picture – and yet to find the form we know he’s capable of, he’d relish facing the Reds. When we took him on loan from WBA – 3 seasons back? He made his debut against Forest in the 5-0 deforestation. He started the move that saw Bamford feed Hendrick for the 3rd.

Although i’d rather dip my balls in a boiling pot of habanero sauce than bet against Derby in this fixture, I have a feeling the Aitor Keranker stats against Derby could stop the Rams getting all 3 points. But this winless streak cannot go on forever. I wonder if a win for either side could start a nice run of good results till the season end.

Rode my luck with my 2 Chinese picks earlier, can only think he was benched to tighten things up at the back given recent defensive frailties.

Value pick I took earlier and this little fella is defo starting tonight for the Romans, the young turk has netted 5 goals in his 5 last league starts with only 1 blank in recent 2-0 defeat to the resurgent Milan. Dzeko is a notable absentee this evening and hopefully this guy can step up.

      Excellent Jamesy ?

Rarely regret any bets I make but looking like a crapper for me tonight – easy to sulk and throw the toys out of the pram but great to see so many winners on the site – well done folks.

45 pints? You’re making me jealous.

Had a cracking day on the in play bets.
Also see lots of other with great winners including Mr F. Well done all.

    Last one from me and it’s not an in play. Think there’ll be some goals in Venezuela tonight;

    Venezuela Premier League
    CD Lara v Carabobo
    Over 2.5 mgls
    11/10
    2 POINTS

      Carabobo O1.5 TGls
      17/10
      1 POINT

    INPLAY:

    Estudiantes Caseros v Almirante Brown
Estudiantes Caseros over 1.5 team goals
    6/5 (at time of posting)

This caught my eye earlier but with no markets available before kick off, I left it alone.
Just checked it inplay a few minutes in and the odds are very generous for top v bottom especially, alongside the stats.
