WASN'T a great night for me with the likes of Valencia, Real Madrid and Schalke failing at home.

Well done to anyone who picked a winner including Greg with his Man United nap which was a brave call in the circumstances.

Goals weren't too bad and luckily Twitter followers voted for over 2.5 at Roda v PSV on bet 2 of the new £10 to £1000 challenge so that's something like 11 or 12 single winners in a row and bet 3 will be posted sometime on Thursday.

There are two Premier League matches – Burnley v Chelsea and Leicester v Southampton. Quite fancy Burnley, who have won their last five, and certainly Burnley not to lose while Leicester may have to settle for a draw at home to Southampton.

In League One Blackburn can join Wigan at the top of the table by beating a Peterborough side who have play-off ambitions.

Other games I've looked at are in La Liga and Holland. Alaves and Levante are in good enough form to beat Girona and Malaga respectively while Real Betis, who have won five in a row and four of them without conceding, look best bets of all at home to a Las Palmas outfit who have lost five out of six.

Leaving Ajax alone after the title was lost at the weekend and instead backing both to score at Utrecht v Groningen. Utrecht's last five have gone that way as have five out of six for Groningen.

Early post for the Night Owl and I’m making tracks to La Paz with my oxygen tanks packed and ready to go…

THE STRONGEST VS. TUCUMAN (2315 KO):

I’ve been writing about the Bolivian altitude advantage for a long time and historically it has been a massive part of their home dominance – but that scenario has played out hand in hand with The Strongest/Bolivar being the best domestic sides and no slouches on the sub-continent.

BUT, The Strongest are at their weakest in the 6 or 7 years that I have followed their fortunes and that’s relected in an utterly unprecedented domestic run of 4 back to back defeats. They are NOT (currently) the force they previously have been.

The visiting Arentines can capitalise on this at some massive prices – they are a great footballing side and have proved they know where the goal is with 4 away goals in their last 5 Libertadores matches.

    Three selections to consider:

    TUCUMAN TO SCORE…EVENS
    ????

    ***WON***

    BTTS…11/10
    ???

    ***WON***

    TUCUMAN OVER 1.5 TGS…11/2

    Midtjylland > 10 Match corners, Hammarby / Fenerbache > 1.5 `MGS Evens – Main Bet
Midtjylland > 11 Match Corners, Hammarby > 2.5 MGS, Burnley BTTS 4/1 – small stake
Hamad ATGS 8/5 (Hammarby) – small stake
The game in Denmark usually sees a shed load of corners. Should be goals in Sweden where recent stats and H2H. The Turkish cup game was a 2-2 in the first leg – worth looking at cards if you can find a market if the first leg of this Istanbul derby was anything to go by!

Sad thing is @wasclueless is that it seems the bookies have cottoned onto the corner counts in big Danish games! You could typically get 8+ Match Corners @ 2/5 but it’s 10+ Corners for that price tonight… I might look in-play instead, but Brondby did rack up an astonishing 17 corners here last month.

Still, I’ll probably end up on something similar. Good luck!

fingers crossed for a corners fest ;)

Two games that interest me tonight…

    SHAW LANE VS. ALTRINCHAM

It’s fair to say that SLA have had a pretty hectic schedule and with this being their 5th game in just 10 days – I reckon a few of those players might just be looking forward to getting pulled off at half-time…beats a bottle of lucozade sport I suppose.

Altrincham have played 1 less in that spell and head into this one table-toppers and with their tails up after spanking the hosts 5-1 just a few weeks ago. This will be SLA’s return to home soil at Sheerian Park after the last 2 home games were rearranged as away fixtures due to the state of the pitch.

There could well be goals here with plenty still to play for; Altrincham will be looking to close the gap on that Champions title whilst The Ducks need to push hard for a play-off spot.

Won’t be a dull affair and I can see both teams contributing – no value markets out there yet but will be post if like the look of anything.

    **********************

    VALUR VS. IBV (1800 KO):

Icelandic action here and when I think of Valur I think of corners. Can’t quote any stats or figures as stuck on a very delayed train to London but Valur very frequently dominate games through offensive possession and wider wing play – check them out when the Urvalsdeild begins on the live feeds.

The result of this is regular high corner counts – this one could go the same way.

    Two selections:

    OVER 10 CORNERS…4/5
    ???

    OVER 12 CORNERS…13/8
    ?

    Best of luck today!

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

Agree with you on Alty hull, I was at Moss Lane to watch the mighty Robins batter Barwell 4-0 on Saturday, 2 goals in each half. Despite a shaky first 15 minute spell where Barwell really should’ve scored, Alty were dominant for the rest of the game and a real threat going forward… hit the bar, and could’ve been 5 or 6 nil.

Over 2.5 mgls is 8/15. It might be worth doing Bet365‘s Bet-Builder for this one, Altrincham win & Over 2.5mgls looks tempting at 7/4 – this is what I picked for the Barwell game.

Afternoon gents , quite a busy card for a Thursday. A lot said about Man U yesterday but you can’t be knocking back even money at Bournemouth regardless of how bad they’ve been

    Burnely v Chelsea KO 7.45pm

Must win for Chelsea in their quest for champions league football against a side who unbelievable are challenging Arsenal for 6th Place. A win for Burnely propels them above Arsenal. both sides needing the points and should be a decent game

Real Betis v Las Palmas KO 8.30pm

You have to feel for Las Palmas, they look certainties to go back down and much of that is due to their inability to win away from home ( one win in their last 34 games in La Liga is brutal) They travel to play inform Betis who have had a terrific season and have won 5 on spin – Europe beckons for them next season

Burnley v Chelsea over 1.5 goals
    Betis to win

    Double pays 9/10 (Marathonbet) (NAP)

    ****************************

The 5 Swiss games at 7pm

Going for a goal in the first 10 mins and and a goal before 30 mins

Should see goals in these 5 games and I agree with @lockhart that all 5 over 2.5 goals looks a good shout

Mr F, long time follower and gold member. Can I ask you why the challange bets are on Twitter? I don’t have Twitter and don’t want another social media site to have to log into. We pay for the members bets here and they are put on another platform. Couldn’t it be put up on the main site Or both if you have followers on Twitter

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

The bets are on Twitter because it’s easier to do the vote.
As a Gold member you will share the spoils of the win as was the case the last time.
I will let people know on here when each vote takes place.

    • old al 6 years ago

Mr F – I think we’re asking to advertise the result of the vote not nessesarily to take part so we’ve got the option to follow.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Yeah I can do that but it’s easy to look on Twitter and also have a vote if you have an opinion.

  11. leroy 6 years ago

Noted above that the corner prices aren’t as value as they have been in Denmark, but I fancy them to add up regardless. Definitely feel that Brondby are the more reliable side, but I’ll be watching this one in-play to see if any value opens up.

    Midtjylland v Brondby

Brondby To Score and 11+ Match Corners @ 19/25 (Bet365)

Leicester vs Southampton – over 5.0 first half Asian corners

    Spain Primera Liga 20:30
Levante vs Malaga – over 2.0 goal line
Levante vs Malaga – over 19.5 multicorners

    4-Fold 8.19/1 Bet365 **NB**

As @wasclueless alluded to Midtjylland vs Brondby frequently produces high corner counts and just looking back to last month when this same fixture happened makes for some interesting reading. There were 21 corners in total but Brondby’s pretty much made up for most of it; (3-6 at HT), (1-11 second half) & 4-17 at full time all in Brondby’s favour. This was by no coincidence either, Brondby were the better team and the stats proved it, they had 76 dangerous attacks to Midtjylland’s 52 and 15 shots on target compared to Midtjylland’s 8. Based on these stats there are some good plays available here such as Brondby corner match bet, Brondby 1st & 2nd half corner match bets, Brondby multicorners, Brondby team corners etc but I’m picking Brondby -1 corner handicap seeing as they covered it so comfortably last time out.

    Good luck all

Chelsea are yet to keep a clean sheet at Turfmoor and statistically that shouldn’t change tonight against the best Burnley side we’ve seen since their most recent promotion. With European football well in with a shout they should be well up for this. Chelsea have been lucky over the past coupe of weeks with a big comeback at St Marys last weekend. They’ve kept only two clean sheets on the road this season and I fancy Burnley to continue their scoring form. A very nice goal time, but I can’t see them keeping Chelsea out their own net, so BTTS is the pick here.

I think the bookies have goals way way overpriced here and i’m certainly willing to take them on!There just isn’t enough games left for Southampton to mess about it’s do or die they have to attack no other option and given the hosts ability to counter with pace we could be in for a pretty high scoring game, expect an open game here end to end.Correct score 4-2

    Early Value Bet….

Saturday sees the Wolves travel to Bolton.

We won the home fixture 5-1 against Bolton. Not taking this to be easy. We have a bit of a history with Bolton stemming back to the days of John McGinley and losing out in playoffs in the 90s. Also fair to say that Bolton are fighting for survival.

I expect us to win as Nuno has thrown down the gauntlet to the team that he wants us to break the 100 points barrier with a max 104 still up for grabs.

A win will give us the title and anyone thinking the players will be struggling to be motivated knowing we’re already promoted is having a laugh.

Last week I said we’d get 2 against Blues as my most confident pick of the season. It was suggested that the players would have had a late night celebrating promotion the previous night…. not a chance with this team.

Some great value, especially in goals which will worsen before the game I’m sure.

    Wolves 2+ goals – 11/10 – 5 points (NAP)

    Wolves 3+ goals – 7/2 – 1 point

    Wolves score both halves – 9/4 – 1 point

A point to note…. as a season ticket holder for a long time this is the first time we’ve actually been confident that something special is on the horizon. The owners aren’t messing about and certainly aren’t just hoping for survival. I think we will spend by this summer and really go for it. Also have no concerns that any star players will depart.

7/4 is available for a top half finish and I’ll be honest I’ve lumped on this.

Prem is a funny league. It’s like 2 leagues in 1… top 6 and the rest. Nobody outside the top 6 concerns me and I think top 10 is there for the taking.

I think we will surprise a lot of people next season.
