IT was good to start the weekend with a full house. I was quietly confident about Motherwell as my Super Single while the Top Treble was only briefly researched but came in at 7-2.
A late Cork winner brought it up after an early win by Galatasaray and goal by PSG star Edinson Cavani who went on to hit a hat-trick against Guingamp.
My other two recommended bets on the Motherwell match came in too – over 2.5 goals at 19-20 and Scott McDonald to score and Well to win at 3-1.
There's a reduced card this weekend with lower-league games in Scotland and England replaced by play-offs. The Premiership and Premier League still have several weeks to run as do some of the top flights in Europe's main leagues.
I've put up a Euro treble as usual and included some Sunday and European picks in my main selections.
I couldn't resist taking West Brom as the Super Single after making plenty of profit tipping against Newcastle in recent weeks. The home club remains a circus and if the Baggies want a result they should get it. I backed them at 21-10 but now best price available is 8-5.
Other sides I considered were Leicester at home to Southampton, Aston Villa at home to West Ham, Norwich at Ipswich, St Johnstone at home to Dundee Utd and Brora at home to Montrose in the Pyramid play-off final.
The Top Treble is on-form Ross County at home to St Mirren plus, Dortmund at home to Hertha Berlin and Barcelona -2 at home to Real Socieded. Let's hope Barca start where they finished on Wednesday against a side who have struggled on the road all season.
And the Euro treble is Real Madrid at home to Valencia, Athletic Bilbao at home to Deportivo and Lyon at Caen. I haven't touched Bayern Munich or Juventus as both are likely to field weakened teams – especially Juve at home to Cagliari.

It’s the second semi-final in the Championship Play-offs and what a fixture we have as local rivals Ipswich and Norwich square off with a place in the final at stake and a potential £150 million windfall the reward for the lucky team who claims that final Premier League position for next season.
Norwich are slight favourites for the tie and come into this away fixture with an excellent record on the road with the Canaries unbeaten in 12 away games and I expect that record to continue today.
Given what is at stake, you could be forgiven for expecting a tight, tense and nervous encounter but I think we might see the opposite effect with both teams desperate to get a positive result to take into the return leg at Carrow Road in 4 days time.
These play-off fixtures are usually tremendously exciting affairs, with plenty of goals and I expect much the same here with the local rivalry sure to increase the intensity and I will be going for BTTS with the stats to back it up.
Norwich have scored at least once in 14 of their last 15 away games, with 9 of their last 13 seeing BTTS while Ipswich have kept just 1 clean sheet in 9 home games, and have scored in each of their last 7 home games, with BTTS in 6 of those.
Historically the fixture also produces goals with 4 of the last 5 at Portman road seeing BTTS and I would be surprised if the sequence doesn’t continue today.

Brora @ 29/20 and QOS @ 29/10 (or QOS/Draw @ 3/4) are my tips for today. Brora were undefeated in the Highland League, scoring 134 goals in the process and have suffered one defeat since August (away to QOS). Montrose have won one and lost five of their last six away.

When I was working up in Huntly I was talking to a customer who follows the highland league and he was telling me about Brora Rangers who have got an investor wi oil wealth and he’s pumpin loads of money in and got loads of ex pros in the team on good money. Does a corner have to be taken to count towards the corner count for betting. In the Everton game today they were awarded a corner in the last seconds of the first half and the ref gave the corner but Paddy Power didn’t count it. Same thing happened in the Man U game which is live now?

One thing that seems to escape punters when a bet loses and it is because of a ‘poor decision’ by the ref or the team hit the post or miss a penalty. How many times has your bet actually won due to ‘poor decisions’ going your way? It seriously is a trait of uneducated gamblers to highlight the hard luck stories but conveniently overlook the times their bets win from these occurencies. If its lost its lost forget the excuses and move on.
