BANK HOLIDAY Monday sees Hull try to do themselves a favour at the wrong end of the table against an Arsenal side bidding to finish second behind Chelsea.
Hull beat Liverpool last Monday but the Gunners are a much tougher proposition so they'll need to go some to produce a result.
From a betting point of view the match that interests me more is Dundalk v Bray in the League of Ireland. Last season's double winners Dundalk have started where they left off last season and have won eight and drawn two of their first 10 matches.
Bray sit second bottom after just two wins and have lost their last two 5-0 and 3-0 at home to Galway and Shamrock respectively. Dundalk have won all five home games to nil – three of them by 3-0.
Last season Dundalk beat Bray 5-1 at home and 3-0 away and they report no injury problems and are fit and raring to go after a 10-day break.
Stephen Kenny's men are no bigger than 2-13 at 888sport so for value you have to look at the handicaps and they are 1-2 with Ladbrokes -1 and 6-5 with Ladbrokes -2 and the latter is the Super Single.
Elsewhere it's Cagliari v Parma and Almeria v Celta Vigo and I've picked out a stats-based goals treble. Cagliari and relegated Parma both look likely to be in Serie B next season but Cagliari can give themselves hope with a win.
Start the Top Treble with over 2.5 goals at Hull v Arsenal which pays over evens and looks decent value when you consider the Gunners have netted at least two goals in the last nine meetings between the sides, winning eight of them.
Hull will be looking to pick up at least a point in their fight to beat the drop and are boosted by the return of Nikica Jelavic. The Tigers could score but I expect Arsenal to win.
Add over 2.5 goals at Kayseri v Sivasspor in Turkey. Kayseri have netted in all of their home games this season and seven out of eight have gone over 2.5 goals.
Complete the treble with both to score at Gothenburg v Falkenberg. Four of the last five meetings between the sides have gone over 2.5 goals while Falkenberg's last three have seen both scoring with a total of 14 goals.
On Sunday I put my faith in Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the Super Single but he failed to hit the target against Nantes. However, PSG's win brought up a 2-1 Top Treble after earlier successes for Chelsea and Napoli.

Tbone, boylesports are a business like any other bookie. They won’t have made the decision based on you winning £800 – it will be something that’s been pending for a while. They should be able to give you reasons and you can try to appeal the decision but at the end of the day you can’t force them into a rethink because they don’t have to take your business.

Seen 1 or 2 posts suggesting Arsenal to win 2-0 and 3-0,id be very cautious in suggesting a win to nil as we all know Hull are desperate for points and have found the net regularly recently, liverpool 1,Palace 2,chelsea 2,man city 1,Villa 2 some notable goals against Chelsea and City was enough to put a little bit of doubt { not much}in just backing Arsenal on the win markets prefering backing them to score 2+ as i feel they may need a couple to win this game.
There is value and reasoning for backing BTTS in this game @ 10/11 or 5/6 most firms,not on it myself but just a reminder.

Mr F – it was a good response by Dundalk straight after the penalty. I think two of their goals have now come from set pieces (corners) which is a good sign too.
I actually had quite a decent sum on 3+ Dundalk goals with a slightly smaller cover bet on 4+ Dundalk goals (as well as the -2 handicap). I’m quids in now whatever the outcome so I’ll let the -2 bet ride as I think it’s looking in good shape at the moment.

Boys, as you know it is Bank holiday and that means a day of rest for Dave, whilst my good lady cuts the grass. Put a bet on yesterday in a William hill shop lille to win and Napoli to win double £100 staked returned to the shop for my winnings only to be told the bet was void.explain I asked the girl behind the counter said I placed the bet after the match had started the lille game that is so I said they were 1-0 down after 24 mins wot gives she said she made a mistake putting the bet on as the game had already started not good enough I said she offered me my money back no I said the bet has won stalemate at the time.woke up this morning phoned William hill to place my grievances only to find I lost my slip!they said the bet was placed at 4.07pm when the lille game kicked off at 1pm what are they doing taking bets for games that kicked off 3 hours previous!I was under the influence at the time and just picked up the football card in the shop and put my hard earned on turns out they knew I placed the bet the girl remembers me but I can’t get my money back without the slip LESSON LEARNED not to bet whilst drunk and not to bet in any shops the service in my opinion is SHOCKING that they took a bet for a game that started 3 hours previous OUTCOME William hill are £100 better off because their staff took a bet off me for a game that was already finished. I lost my slip without it they won’t give me my money back.silly on my behalf I know losing the slip but come on a major betting outlet taking a bet on a game that finished 3 hours earlier shocking in my opinion.
footie fan, firstly the computer should flag up the fact the game has finished so that’s something for Hills to look at. Secondly they should be paying you on the Napoli single. Thirdly, losing your slip doesn’t mean you should lose your money. They should ask to fill out a claim form and as long you replicate the bet you placed, that is write it out the same way with the bet and stake, etc they should pay you. You say they know you in the shop so I’m surprised they haven’t told you what to do. If you want me to look into further send me full details of the shop and bet to mrfixit@dailyrecord.co.uk
@FootieFan – sorry, I did read that but because the story went on a little (and i was keeping half an eye on the Dundalk match) my brain didnt make the connections.
OK, as I see it there are several issues here mate – apologies to cover in detail but a logical approach is needed as I can see.
1) Sometimes when they take a bet, unless you ask for a price (which I always do btw) they just take your money and the slip. Someone else then usually scans the slip, enters details in etc. So I dont think they deliberately took a bet on a game that had already concluded.
2) In the event that your first leg was already in play or concluded you double should then become a single (i.e. you should get a winning £100 bet on a Napoli single). I didn’t see this first time round – you’re owed more than £100! :)
3) Because of point 1 your bet would be flagged when they put the bet on the system that it couldn’t be a double. They should have a scan of your original slip (from when you got your receipt) so ask them to go back into their system and find that scan. It will show that you paid over £100 and the time / date you placed the bet and what part of the bet should be valid/ I’ve known them sometimes to cross check against CCTV if needed to validate that you were the one who placed the bet on this. If, when you go into the shop, they won’t investigate they probably have a form to complete for lost slips (it happens – trust me!).
4) When you go back into the shop focus on the key points. You placed a double which is now a single. Forget about why they didn’t hightlight the French match as that’s not material. They key thing is that you have a winning single.
5) It goes without saying don’t bet whilst under the influence! ;o)
Good luck with William Hill – they’re not a bad lot you know. Maybe just need to structure your points with them and focus on the fact you have a winning single. Dont let it go though as I think you have a valid case here.
