May 3: Mr Fixit’s Top Tips

MRF_TopTips_Genting

TONIGHT it’s all about the Champions League and I’ve posted a preview on Bayern Munich v Atletico Madrid where I tip the Spaniards to qualify.

Meanwhile, the SPFL play-offs start with Peterhead v Ayr and Clyde v Elgin and tight games are expected.
Peterhead ended the season with a run of six defeats and will be without banned top scorer Rory McAllister so I’m willing to risk Ayr at 2-1 at William Hill. Ayr draw no bet is the safer call at 23-20 with Ladbrokes but remember they won 4-0 at Petehead in the match McAllister saw red in a week past Saturday.
There is no doubt the Blue Toon took their foot off the gas after securing a play-off place but it’s difficult to switch it back on again. Ayr’s record against the Highlanders was poor until that big win – failing in seven successive meetings – but with McAllister available for the second leg at Somerset they’ll be keen not to lose.
Clyde boss Barry Ferguson will have his players well prepared for a big occasion and they are 6-5 at McBookie to take a lead into the second leg. They’ve beaten Elgin at home twice this season and look good to make it a hat-trick.
Last night there was a thrilling end to matches at Chelsea and Dundee. Chelsea’s comeback from 2-0 down handed Leicester a fairytale title triumph and Dundee’s last-gasp winner relegated Dundee United and brought up one of my Super Singles and the members only Betting Club choice – as well as Greg Browning’s nap.
The other SS was a longer shot on Dundee -1 while the Top Treble was a Helsingborg goal short of landing.
I recommended three bets on the Chelsea-Spurs game and all were winners – draw, both teams to score and Harry Kane to hit the target.
Having looked at the card in more detail my Super Single is Ayr DNB – they should win but with it being a two-legged affair I’ll keep the draw on side.
On such a quiet day I’m reluctant to put up anything else but it’s a bit busier tomorrow.

    Congrats again to Leicester. Amazing story! Always love a good Spuds meltdown too ha ha. Onto today and I totally agree with Mr F and reckon Atlético will do the business and should qualify. Both teams to score at 6/5 does look tasty too.

    My own personal bank builder is coming along nicely, yesterday took it from £255 to £467. Have had a few successes in the early Japanese games, still keeping it simple. Up to £727 for a days profit of 55%. Have eyes on a couple of AFC champions league games which I guess I have 3hrs to pay a closer look at. I’m now on a ” bank 1, bet 1 strategy “.

      Nathan is this the same strategy as before where you look for 1/10 bets and roll them over?

      • Profile photo of nathanufton
        nathanufton 7 months ago

        yep
        not exclusively 1/10’s but riding out the first goaless 12-15 mins or so that on the overs in-play market. I’ve been a bit quiet on it since xmas as I’ve had other stuff to deal with but felt it was long overdue to give it another bash. Every time it fails, I learn something new. This past failure just after xmas was about staying on script and never jumping onto a 2nd goal AND never betting on teams that have 10 mins to play with a 2 or 3 goal lead. You’d be surprised at how many times it craps out. I’ve also learned to schedule my bets with specific targeted kickoffs, if theres something in-play and I have no action that takes my fancy, I had a tendancy to still trust my instinct and steal an extra match goal without doing the necessary background stats checks. So now I JUST concentrate my main method on those games on the horizon rather than betting for the sake of it.
        The 2x 11am kickoffs that interest me are Suwon Bluewings and Melbourne Victory in the AFC champions league. Past that timeframe, I have nothing specific that I am looking at, I might have a closer look as and if those 2 matches deliver.

          Hey Nathan, could I just ask what it is you look at betting on on the overs market? I see you’ve said you ride out the first 12-15 minutes, then get on the overs market if still at 0-0, is this correct? Do you bet on o.0.5 or o.1.5 goals? Sorry if this is confusing just interested in what it is you look at.

          • Profile photo of nathanufton
            nathanufton 7 months ago

            @shauncpfc Always 0.5 overs, the price gains momentum, lots of it in the first 0-20 mins , the longer you leave it, the better. I do often see lots of goals in the final 20 mins of the 1st half.

    – last 4 matches played in all competitions for Bayern Munich ended with maximum 2 goals scored;
    – Bayern managed to win all five matches at home this season in the Champions League;
    – Bayern Munich played 10 semi-final against Spanish teams managed 7 wins;

    Atletico Madrid :

    – Atletico Madrid have a 4 consecutive wins with the same score, 1-0;
    – Team coached by Diego Simeone has a string of seven consecutive matches won, the last 6 being with no goal conceded;
    – for Atletico is the 5th European Cup semi-final against a team from Germany, their record is 3 wins and one defeat;
    ————————————————————-
    Probable teams :

    – Bayern Munich: Neuer – Lahm, Martinez, Alaba, Bernat – Alonso – Costa, Muller, Vidal, Coman – Lewandowski;
    – Unavailable: Badstuber and Robben (injured);

    – Atletico Madrid: Oblak – Juanfran, Gimenez, Savic, Luis – Nigua, Fernandez, Gabi, Koke – Griezmann, Torres
    – Unavailable: Godin and Tiago (injured)
    ————————————————————-
    Interesting stats and betting :

    – In the first leg , Bayern dominated possession with 69%, bet to succeed at least identical performance (over 68.5%) is 1.85;
    – Atletico Madrid qualified in the last 6 clashes with german teams . Last time they were eliminated in ’78. 1-0 after the first leg, to pass Bayern is 1.75, 69% of teams who have won the first leg 1-0 have advanced farther in the League;
    – Bayern boast 11 wins in a row at home in the Champions League. In this period they were conceded only 6 goals and scored 3.72 goals / game. 1.83 is the value that the Bavarians today to score at least 2 goals;
    – Atletico won only two matches in their last seven disputes in the latter stages of the Champions League. Bayern to take their revenge after round match and winning has value 1.56 and 2.13 qualification;
    – Thomas Muller managed to score 15 goals in the last 18 League matches in which has held for Bayern. Unibet offers 2.75 that the German player to be present on the scoreboard tonight;
    – if Atletico will advance in the last act of the competition will be for the 3rd time in history . Each time they were defeated in both 1974 and 2014. For their triumph in this season’s League 3.25;
    – Germans have earned goals in 4 of their last 5 matches played in the latter stages of the Champions League, the weakest record of in the competition. Both teams to score tonight at Munich has a value of 2.23;
    – Robert Lewandowski has three games in a row without scoring for Bayern in the Champions League longest period of his transfer in Bavaria. To score and Bayern to win the match 2.80;
    – Today’s match is decisive and certainly we will have many duels and sharp fragmentation of the game, especially on the wings. 1.70 is that tonight to have over 28.5 fouls;
    ————————————————————-
    I think that Atletico will not have the luck that had in the first leg. Even in Madrid, Bayern managed to dominate his opponent on almost throughout the match, surely Bavarians will put enormous pressure at home. They will be much more focused tonight and will try to exploit every chance . The team prepared by Pep Guardiola now benefit from the audience that will try to push them from behind. Atletico is a team who make less problems in attack and rely too much on the defensive line. This time, it is hard to believe that Atletico will resist . I think Bayern is the better team and at the end of 90 minutes will achieve victory, but not at a difference of more then 1 goal;
    ————————————————————

      radu, I think the feeling on the site is this could go either way.
      If Bayern score early they’ll be in the driving but not getting the away goal could come back to haunt them.

      I’ve lost a few £££ on the AFC Champs league in previous weeks mate so would caution small stakes – if I were to put anything on it I’d go with Urawa/Melbourne Victory both to win double @ around 2.08. Urawa will want top spot and Pohang have nothing to play for – Victory need to better Suwon’s result and will be fresh with the A-league ending prematurely for them – plus Gamba have nothing to play for.

    19:45PM – Champions League

    Bayern Munich v Ath Madrid

    Fantastic win for Madrid at the Vicente Calderon last week with that sublime Saul goal – Atletico come into this game as favourites to progress, and deservedly so – however, Bayern are imperious at the Allianz having won 10 from their last 11 Champions League games there. They’ve won all 6 home games in the 2015/16 campaign scoring 19 on the way so are averaging 3 goals per game – the stats would suggest Bayern will score several here and the last time Bayern failed to score at the Allianz in europe was April 2014 v Real.

    Atletico should welcome back Godin tonight which will reinforce their back line even more-so than last weeks game. They can boast the best defensive record in this seasons Champions League having conceded only 5 in 11 games. I’m extremely tempted on the unders market with under 2.5 goals @ around 8/11 but I’m never keen on putting unders on – as anything can happen in a game that can screw this up such as red cards, deflections etc. Atletico don’t need to win this and will progress with any draw result or better – or even a one goal loss, as long as they score.

    I can see Bayern scoring – but may take a while to break Madrid down – and if Bayern do score then Madrid would need to go for it. Like Mr F has suggested, I do think Madrid will score tonight so I’m going with:

    Both Teams To Score @ 6/5
    Small Stake on 1-1 final score @ 15/2

    Good luck today chaps, I have a few games today will be keeping my eye on so may post later too.

    I’m loving the Swedish games at present. Seem to be very profitable when looking at goals. In particular I have been doing Yankees and Canadian’s on first half goals. Nearly 70% of all top tier Swedish games are seeing at least 2 first half goals so far this season and at present bookies odds are not reflecting that high percentage. For example yesterday I did a Canadian on the 5 18:00 games with 4/5 winning giving you 7 x stake back. Inidividual odds at sky bet were all around the 6/4 up to 2/1 mark. Yet the bookies are pricing the btts markets and over 2.5 all way under evens so they expect goals.

    Certainly seems to be a good tactic of late and certainly worth doing small stake Yankees on for big returns. I did one on Sunday with Man Utd v Leicester @ 5/2, Southampton and Man City @ 6/4, Falkenburg at 11/10 and Salzburg (who let me down) but it gave me £100 back on a £11 stake.

    Just got to pick the right games I guess!

      elander whats the format for betting using yankees and Canadian bets

      • Profile photo of elander
        elander 7 months ago

        Yankees for 4 games, Canadian for 5. I basically do a £1 stake on a Yankee which is £11 total (11 x £1 on all possible doubles,trebles and fourfold) and then generally a 50p or £1 stake on a Canadian which is for five matches. Total stake either £13 or £26 covering all the various permutations. Depending on odds you need at least two to come in to get money back or there abouts and anything else is profit. Best to do only on individual odds around 1.8 and higher.

        • Profile photo of elander
          elander 7 months ago

          I’m going to do one on the four afc games this morning for interest, though not particularly confident. as odds for first half goals all quite juicy at 2.5-3 mark. They have been pretty low scoring of late, hence prices, but maybe the trend will end today! Australian and Chinese teams are good for first half goals generally. £1 Yankee returns £160. Need 3/4 to happen realistically for nice profit.

    ___________________________

    Its a really poor card today and as such it been a real rake for 3 teams to back. In truth I would rather have left the CL game alone but really struggling for a treble. Just 4 years ago Nalchik were a in the RPL but after being relegated that season have fallen into the lower tiers, currently division 2 south. A return to the National League looks on the cards as they head the division with impressive stats. They should see off Astrakkhan today who have lost 11 in 21. Al Ittihad have been hovering above the relegation zone for some time in Egypt for for whatever reason they have hit a purple patch with 3 straight wins to boost them to 12th and today I think they will make it 4 in row as they host the bottom side with no wins and 16 defeats in 25 matches. Lastly the CL games. Normally this is a perfect scenario. When a good side loses away in a two legged match I usually back them to at least win at home. I’m not so sure about Bayern partly because of the tight Atletico defence and partly because of the mess they made against Juventus- albeit they did progress. I am backing them here though as I think they will pull out all the stops to win but not sure if that will be enough to progress.

    Best of luck with your bets today

    How long will it take for Munich to snap if they can’t find a way through? Look at Spurs in the final 10 minutes against Chelsea last night. They made Chelsea look like the victims! That takes some doing. Perhaps Bayern will lose their heads if the game stays even for too long.

    Bayern v a madrid.
    Over 4.5 fh corners. Bayern had the majority of possession and plenty of corners the 1st leg. Youd be foolish to think bayern wont fo gung ho soon as the whistle goes and be at athletico. Knowing how well they can defend i can see a fair few corners in the first half.

    Treble:

    Norway Cup 18:00
    Brattvag vs Aalesund – HT result Aalesund

    Champions League 19:45
    Bayern Munich vs Atletico Madrid – over 2.5 MG’s & over 9 corners

    5.25/1 **NAP**

    Tippeligaen side Aalesund should prove too strong for their opposition Brattvag who play two divisions lower than them. So far most of the Tippeligaen teams have been knocking 3+ past these lower oppposition opponents and today shouldn’t be no different with it being very likely Aalesund head into the interval as leaders.

    In the first leg at the Calderon, despite it being only 1-0, there were a host of chances; obviously the goal went in, Torres hit he woodwork, Vidal drew excellent saves, Lewandowski missed chances etc. With the stakes being high and Madrid likely to play their defensive game with possibly nine men behind the ball at times, it will invite pressure from Bayern who will try to go for the jugular over and over again and there should be goals. Madrid themselves wil be dangerous on breakaway counters throughout so over 2 goals has a fair chance tonight.

    The first leg yielded 10 corners. With Bayern likely to dominate possesion and attack from the outset tonight this should at least be equalled.

    Sweden U21 League: 16:00

    There are a few games which should pop up in-play on Bet365 but the ones I’ll be on are

    Afternoon gents

    Staying in Scotland tonight

    Peterhead v Ayr
    Clyde v Elgin

    Peterhead have completely gone off the boil since there Cup final against Rangers in the Petrofac! They do t lose too many at home but Ayr have an experienced team and will be looking to avoid defeat! They boast probably one of the best players in the division in Ryan Stevenson and should manage at least a share of the spoils

    Taking Clyde for one main reason, Elgin have been murder away from home all season! All of there good work has been done at home and a clyde are in good shape coming into this! Again taking Clyde to get at least a draw and I think Elgin will be happy with that

    Ayr / Clyde – Double Chance

    IN-PLAY

    Odense Reserves v Esbjerg Reserves

    6 from the last 7 H2H games have seen 3 goals or more – 4 from Odense’s last 5 have gone over 2.5 goals and Esbjerg sit bottom of the league after 4 games having conceded 8 in those. Odense have a high scoring and conceding average so hoping today will be similar – bit short currently but might be worth a small stake when the over 2.5 goals prices get better.

    Tempted with the 5/4 on offer for over 2.5 goals in the Sirius U21 v GIF U21 game. Currently HT – 3 from last 5 H2H gone over 2.5. Sirius’ last 5 games have all seen 3 goals minimum and GIF’s last 13 have gone over 2.5! With both teams conceding a high number of goals so far – this stands a decent chance.

    Couple of Swedish U21 matches starting at 4PM to keep an eye out on the goals markets…

    Jonkopings U21 v Kalmar U21

    Kalmar’s last 5 matches have gone 3 goals or more whilst 3 from Jonkopings last 5 have too. Jonkopings have conceded 11 from 6 and Kalmar have scored 11 goals in 5 matches so far.

    Djurgarden U21 v Hammarby U21

    All 4 H2H games have seen a minimum of 3 goals. Hammarby’s last 4 have seen 3 goals or more and 5 from Djurgarden’s last 6 the same.

    Both games are likely to go over 2.5 goals – so keeping an eye in-play on the goals markets.

    365 have Ayr as marginal favourites for tonight’s match now, which makes it strange how they are still going 5/6 for either to qualify. Peterhead have only scored 2 goals in their last 8 games now, pretty awful.

    Ayr and Atletico both to qualify for me, double pays over 2/1.

    Odds 2.35 2 units

    As much as I think simeone is an incredible manager my gut just sais Bayern tonight. under is probably the sensible play as odds suggest but with Bayern chasing this I’ll take my chances on the over. If one bet hits then no harm done.

    I agree with Hampy and Meadway with regard to Bayern corners. However, the line is incredibly high, so I am going for something slightly different:

    Bayern race to 9 corners

    7/4 (Bet365)

    Low stake mainly for interest, although it has a really good chance at those odds. Obviously it relies on Atletico holding onto their advantage for as long as possible, so fingers crossed….

    Evening gents,

    BAYERN v ATLETICO MADRID:

    Lots been said about this one already and not too much too add but that it should be a cracker and although I agree with the Bayern pressure, I can see Atletico catching one on the break.

    No-one has beaten Atletico by 2 goals or more in a stonking 72 games and that gives great ammo for the Spaniards to qualify but I’m taking BTTS at 6/4…too big in my opinion

    *WINNER* – Posted earlier today, just the 1-1 pending now

      Yup Crane – the eagle (pigeon 😂) has flown on some of the Nordic games – bookies not daft and took a hit last year so not seeing anywhere near the value we’ve had before.

    Not around until later tomorrow so will put this one up now…

    HARROGATE TOWN VS. FYLDE:

    First leg sees us in North Yorksire and it should be a belter – nice up there and posher locals call it ‘Harrowgate’…normal Northerners call it ‘Arrerget’ but that’s got bugger all to do with betting.

    Flyde won the recent H2H 2-1 at their place and in the last two seasons we’ve seen the 2-1 as well as; 2-2 at Harrogate; 1-4 at Harrogate and a 1-2 at Fylde.

    I can’t see this one being a low scorer and although HT do score well at home, I can see Fylde getting at least one to drag the Yorkies kicking and screaming back over the Pennines to their place.

    Bets to consider:

    BTTS & OVER 2.5 MGS…10/11
    (3 Points)

    OVER 3.5 MGS…13/8
    (2 Points)

    Good luck with all bets 👍
