May 27: Scottish Cup Final Betting Preview

MRF_GriffithSCeltic

LAST week it was about the Invincibles – today Celtic are aiming to become club legends by lifting the Scottish Cup.

Only three Hoops teams have won the Treble and Brendan Rodgers is set to be the fourth with victory against Aberdeen at Hampden.

Celtic have cruised to the title and beat the Dons in the Betfred Cup Final – one of five victories against their closest this season.

When I say close the difference was 30 points and three of those triumphs were 3-1, 3-0 and 4-1.

Aberdeen collected a record 76 Premiership points and played consistently well the whole campaign but when it comes to Celtic they’ve possibly got a mental block.

Thirteen defeats in the past 14 meetings doesn’t suggest they can topple a side on the verge of history.

Bookies agree and Celtic are a best 8-15 at McBookie to win in 90 minutes and 3-10 at bet365 to lift the trophy.

Aberdeen will tempt some at 6-1 with bet365 while they are 14-5 with BetStars on the outrights. A draw pays 10-3 at boylesports.

Both sides have been scoring freely in recent weeks and hopefully this will be an action-packed thriller. That could depend on whether the Dons really believe.

Only two out of the five clashes this season have seen both score but I like its chances at 3-4 with 188BET.

Three of those games have gone over 2.5 goals and that’s possibly the better bet at a smaller price of 4-6 with McBookie.

Aberdeen are 11-20 with McBookie just to score and 14-5 with the Scots firm to net two or more.

Picking scorers isn’t easy as Celtic share the goals. Patrick Roberts will be a popular choice to score first at 13-2 with 888sport on what could be his last game for the club before returning to Man City.

Leigh Griffiths smacked the opener against Hearts last week and is 7-2 at bet365 to repeat the feat.

Stuart Armstrong is another who will fancy his chances and is 10-3 with Betfred to score while Callum McGregor has contributed plenty of goals in big games recently and is 15-4 at Winner to net.

Aberdeen will look to 19-goal hitman Adam Rooney to be their saviour.

He netted inside 20 seconds in the semi-final success against Hibs and is 7-2 at Betfred to enjoy his return to Hampden with another goal. To again break the deadlock the English ace is 8-1 with the same firm.

Scotland call-up Kenny McLean packs a powerful shot and is 13-2 at bet365 to celebrate World Cup inclusion with a goal.
