CAN anyone call this megabucks match? Out of all the play-off finals this season the only one I was confident about was Preston to beat Swindon.
Preston battered their League One rivals 4-0 but the others in England and Scotland have been closely contested.
And it shouldn’t be any different at Wembley this afternoon with a prize said to be worth £135million up for grabs.
Both sides were dominant in their semi-finals and while Norwich boast the better attack it’s Boro who have the edge in defence.
Boro did the double over Norwich in the regular season with a 4-0 home win before Alex Neil took over the Canaries.
Neil was in charge for a 1-0 home defeat by Aitor Karanka’s side that probably cost his side automatic promotion but they bounced back well to clinch third spot.
So both sides are in good nick and it could be a tense thriller that is so hard to call.
I’m hoping the teams don’t cancel each other during 90 minutes so both sides to score has to be considered at 1-1 with William Hill.
Norwich are 28-17 favourites with 888sport to win in 90 minutes with Boro 2-1 at BetVictor and Ladbrokes and the draw 23-10 with BetVictor.
To win promotion the Canaries are 4-5 with bet365 while Boro are 1-1 with BetVictor and bet365.
Both sides are 11-1 with William Hill to win after extra time with both 12-1 to progress on penalties – and that could be worth split stakes.
Boro have a doubt over top scorer Patrick Bamford and his absence could be crucial as they’re a bit lightweight up top without him.
Norwich don’t have any problems on that front and Cameron Jerome who will lead the line is 13-2 at boylesports to score first.
1pt Norwich to win on penalties
1pt Middlesbrough to win on penalties
(both 11-1, William Hill)
