It’s the final week of the Premiership and there is of course the play-off semi-final second leg between Hibs and Rangers. That’s the games McBookie’s Damian Walker is picking from for his final tips of the season. His posts have been well received with plenty of winners and I thank him for his efforts – hopefully he’ll be back in August.
Here is Damian first-scorer tips for this weekend. He writes: Thank goodness for the play off between Hibs and Rangers otherwise the weekend football would all be just dead rubbers.
“However, that doesn’t mean there still isn’t some value. Hibs were woeful up front on Wednesday night and will really have to go for it from the start to get back into the game.
“Wait until the teams are announced but I fancy they will start with Farid El Alagui up front and, if so, he looks a good bet at 6-1 for the first goal. I was surprised he didn’t get a game during the week as he is their best striker and with goals needed he could be the man.
I expect Inverness Caley will rest a number of players before their Scottish Cup Final and with Celtic looking to celebrate the title with a party atmosphere I will be backing Leigh Griffiths at 17-5 to strike first.
In fact I will also be backing him at 11-4 to score two or more and 12-1 for a hat-trick. I am sure the Celtic players will want to get some revenge for that semi-final defeat and expect a big win.
Finally, Dundee United will also be out for revenge after their defeat to Dundee in the last Derby and with this possibly being his last game I will be backing Nadir Ciftci at 17-4 to get on the scoresheet first.
The striker has been offered a new contract but I suspect that is more a PR ploy and I can’t see the Turk sticking around for another year. What better way to send off than by scoring against the city rivals?
Can you find a winner this weekend?
El Alagui (Hibs) 6-1
Griffiths (Celtic) 17-5
Ciftci (Dundee Utd) 17-4
