May 22: Mr Fixit’s Top Tips

MRF_TopTips_Genting
CUP FINALS day didn’t quite go as expected with PSG the only favourites to win in the big games.

My Super Single was let down by Juventus who were rubbish against Milan in normal time and the only other bet I posted included Juve and Rangers.

I’m away golfing for a few days with Ace and few others so there will be no tips from until Friday. Ace will also be absent this week and Scott Allot is away too so admin are up against it.

They’ll put daily top tips, racing and sports threads and will do their best with Greg’s and Jordan’s but you’d be advised to keep an eye out for them in the comments section.

There are plenty of games on Sunday but not many in the leagues I follow but I’ve done a bit of research and picked out a both teams to score treble. Up at 4am so time for reasoning but the stats look good.

I wasn’t going to do a Super Single but my profit is good and as there won’t be another until Friday or Saturday I’m risking Luis Suarez to score first for Barcelona against Sevilla in the Spanish Cup Final in Madrid.

This could be a game too far for Sevilla who have only beaten the Catalans once in 18 meetings. Barca will be buoyed by clinching the league last week and are no bigger than 3-10 at Stan James.

Suarez has been in unbelievable form and is 3-1 with Paddy Power to score first.

I’ve posted a separate preview on the Kilmarnock v Falkirk Premiership play-off second leg with the Bairns leading – and remember their penchant for scoring late goals. No doubt Greg will remind us to back it.

And I haven’t forgotten about the England v Turkey friendly at the Etihad. But a game so soon after the end of the season – I think I’ll leave it out.

Remember to check out We Love Betting for their latest tips and video chat.

Hi Bully. What are your thoughts on the Djurgarden v Helsingborgs game today? I’m curious why you left this off your Scandinavian accy. Cheers.

      • Profile photo of bullseye
        bullseye 7 months ago

Hi southcoast, the reason I omitted it is because Im really not sure how it will go. Djurgarden have been poor recently with three losses in a row, the last of which was against Kalmar at home where they conceded 3 and couldn’t even net. Helsingborg have looked equally poor away from home. I was close to going for the Djugarden win but at 4/6 it was too short and would be too much of a risk. I think in-play is the way to go with this one. Good luck today mate.

HALIFAX v GRIMSBY – FA Trophy final and a second trip to Wembley for the Mariners with The Shaymen making their first ever visit.

No significant team news looking at both sides websites/Twitter feeds but Grimsby are the clear favourites according to the bookies.

Halifax have had a poor domestic season but have excelled in this Cup with a fine run so can’t be ruled out completely.

I can see both teams getting on the scoresheet and each side has their own goalscoring talisman who could be eorth a look.

    Bet 1:

    Sevilla over 4.5 team corners

    Evens (Bet365)

Sevilla are one of the few teams I rely on for corners not to be relegated this season, and they should not be ruled out of (another) cup triumph. They beat Barca in October, and fought back from 4-1 down to force extra time in their ‘super cup’ meeting at the beginning of the season. Sevilla managed to get 7 corners in both of the league meetings with Barca this season, and I expect them to show no fear today and really go for it.

    Bet 2:

Barcelona v Sevilla over 10.5 corners

    4/5 (Bet365)

Both league meetings this season went over this line, although the ‘super cup’ fixture at the beginning of the season only saw 9. But for reasons cited above, I expect this to come in.

Bet 3 over 9.5 corner treble:

    Kalmar v Hacken (Sweden, 2pm)
Mirandes v Llagostera (Spain Segunda, 4pm)
Portland Timbers v Vancouver Whitecaps (USA, 9:30pm)

Still dipping my toes into Sweden and USA, whereas Mirandes home matches average 14 corners.

    Afternoon gents

Got my girls second birthday party today so will make this brief

    Kilmarnock v Falkirk KO 3pm

No surprises here / mentioned in the first leg that Falkirk had scored a 90th minute goal in 7 of their last 10 matches

A goal after the 73 minute pays 5/6 but it’s always better waiting inplay as you’ll get almost the same price but around 70 mins

Also be on the 5 Switzerland Suoer league matches at 3pm for my early goal bet!⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️

Of course, I use to be guilty of following them a while back when I was very new to everything. However this site has changed and helped me a lot how to stake responsibly and pick the right odds with value and so on.

Another couple of cup finals today and this time from Iberia where Barcelona should take care of Sevilla I feel as the stronger side but Sevilla proved in the Super Cup they will be no pushovers. Porto have had a horrendous season by their standards but I feel they can lift the cup today having finished the season strongly while today’s opponents Braga seemed to fall away. Lastly the second leg of the Premier play off today. Its too close to call but at Rugby Park I would expect Kilmarnock to win the match- or at least not lose it. They wasted lots of chances at the Falkirk stadium before being hit by a late sucker punch and I can’t help thinking if they take just one today they might go on to score a couple more. Falkirk though have made themselves hard to beat this season so taking draw no bet.

Best of luck with your bets today

Pretty damn good card in SA this evening and might have a look at a low stake goals acca later – one I do fancy and it’s not one of the more obvious games…

DEPORTIVO ANZOÁTEGUI VS. ARAGUA (Venezuela 21.00 KO):

I’ve been following the Venezuelan more closely than I have before and Anzoategui have been reliable for a goal or two all season.

Aragua are no slouches though and have closed the gap to 3 points with a now better gd of +5 after a great run.

They are unbeaten in 7 games with 5 back to back wins and 2 draws so certainly carry a very real threat.

BTTS looks good and Anzoategui have seen 13 of their last 17 come in as opposed to Aragua’s 10/19 (4/6 most recent) although both teams last 2 have seen goals for both sides.

One final stat to consolidate the case for BTTS is a look at the most recent H2H’s – both relevant and within the last 10 weeks…1-1 and 2-2 scorelines.

    Selection: BTTS…3/4
    (4 Points)

Good luck if you have a go 👍

i was gonna ask this around 3 months ago but i have just saw it again so here goes.

Vestsjælland in Denmark 1ST DIVISION retired halfway through the season or before so all there results are a loss of 3-0 as this is awarded automatically. Looking at there squad on soccerway they have very few players. Does anyone know why they retired halfway through the season? Match fixing? Sold the club completely? Not enough players? Thanks

      • Profile photo of HullShaker

Afternoon harry – simple answer is they spend and owe more money than they generate.

Sadly common in recent years: Portsmouth, Leeds, Scarborough, Darlo, the list goes on. Chelsea were pretty damn close before Abramovich’s mega-bucks…Ken Bates bought them out for 2 quid I seem to remember

      • Profile photo of petet

@Harrybaines – just like any other business. If they can’t pay their creditors they are insolvent which leads to businesses either being bankrupted or, alternatively, reborn into new entities.

Should be a cracker over in Spain for the Copa del Ray but prices are insane.

I think we’ll see a few of the following: cards, corners and goals but value is poor for each of the individual markets.

Instead, it may pay to put a combination bet together featuring the above.

Mine’s a speculative effort but adds a bit of excitement if watching the game!

    Over 3.5 goals + Over 11.5 corners + 6.5 cards = 7.25/1

    Bet 1:

    Sevilla over 4.5 team corners

    Evens (Bet365)

    *WON*

    Bet 2:

Barcelona v Sevilla over 10.5 corners

    4/5 (Bet365)

Just a quick heads up for you guys, I am highly likely to be unable to post anything lengthy from Thursday because I have to have a double bone operation on my right shoulder – the arm I type with. They won’t know until they get in there if I then have to have soft tissue repair – scheduled for 6 weeks time ( just as my shoulder should be getting back to normality ), then I have to have an operation when that’s all healed on my hand….. Please don’t feel sorry for me, but if you do want a giggle, then take a laugh at the two f*ckwits who did it to me – they think their public liability insurance will cover them — ha ha, I’ve read the small-print on their public liability insurance, they won’t pay out a penny on deliberate acts !!!! ROLMFAO.
Don’t worry; the Wolves, I mean solicitors are ready to drop the proverbial nuclear bombs in their lives. Light the touchpaper, stand well back, crack open a can of Kronenberg and watch the fireworks.

Well it does say in the bible twice ” an eye for an eye “.

Anyway, the only match on my radar is the championship playoff final and being a Derby fan, I kinda know what both teams are about and for me, Hull are by far more vulnerable than Sheff Wed. Sheff Wed are more resolute, more bullyish.
A pattern noticed prior to each of those playoff semi’s are they are laden with cards. Every one of them. Put the pressure on Hull, they’ll foul you, go toe to toe with Shef Wed, they’ll put some rough tackles in too.
If one team gets an early goal, the other team HAS to go sh*t or bust on the opposition, that equals cards.
If it gets past halftime without a goal, both sides will have to raise their game and whoever is attacking who, the defenders will come in flying with the bad tackles.
This is a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE game for both. Some say worth £170 million if you include minimum prize money + 2 years worth of parachute payments if the victor gets relegated straight away. That ladies and gentleman makes it the single richest football game in the world !!! So no pressure !!!

Its also a Yorkshire Derby. Not really in the same league as Celtic/Rangers, Liverpool/Man U but that in itself adds another ingredient to the cocktail that should see a card fest.

I think the bookies will have their line drawn in the sand at over/under 3.5 cards. Can’t see it being lower, but even if they put the marker down at over 4.5 cards, it should deliver for around a 4/5 – 5/6 price.

My gut tells me that it will be goaless in the 1st half. IF there is a winner in 90 mins, from what I’ve seen, Sheff Wed who have slid right under the radar all season steer a sturdier ship than Hull.

If anyone is able/around can you please repost this come match day. As soon as I’m back up and running (typing ) i’ll be back as soon as I can.

Good luck with your bets, particularly the overs cards market in the playoff final.

Away side has seen bagfulls of goals in almost all their games and thats highligted by over 2.5 goals only being set at 1.50 but i also expect both to score so the 1.72 is decent value.

I wonder if Nzojmo will be contributing to the goal action in the Czech U21. I’m a bit wary. They’re anchored nine points adrift at the bottom of the league and playing the final fixture of the campaign. Plzen sit 9th (of 17). The tie at Plzen in November finished just one-nothing to Plzen. Am I right to be cautious, I wonder? BTTS is going at 1/4, over 3.5mgs at 4/7.
The other tie at 2pm sees Hradec take on Banic, another end of season fixture according to futbol24. BTTS here is 2/7 and over 3.5mgs is 8/11 (o2.5 is 2/7)
I’ve been in a dilemma. Got a result earlier with Buleen U20 BTTS but don’t wanna push my luck even though the Aussie odds were skinny. No, I’ll probably regret scrubbing around these two but for me there’s not enough meat on the bone for me to have a gnaw on the Double. But I just know I may regret this!

Stjarnan v FH – really fancying BTTS here but Iceland has been a cruel mistress so far this season and there’s a lot of risk v reward on the pricing.

BTTS & Overs is on at 6/5
(2 Points) but for value I’ll take another combo bet – the game should see two attacking but defensively strong sides so corners could well be on the agenda…

    Over 2.5 mgs + over 11.5 corners = 3.95/1
    (1 Point)

    Afternoon chaps,

Decent morning with wins on the Korean Womens game (thanks @hampy) and Aussie NPL U20’s game. Not a great deal on today I like but found a few in Sweden this evening I like…

    Gefle v AIK

Gefle have had a poor start to their Allsvenskan campaign, with only 1 win from their opening 10 games. Today they play an AIK team who’re in decent form having lost only once in their last 5. Gefle are conceding, and a fair few at the Gavlevallen have gone into the home teams net, having conceded 13 goals in 5 there so far. AIK are scoring but also conceding, especially in their 5 away games so far – having seen 10 goals scored and the same number conceded.

Their last 2 meetings have seen 2-1 and 3-1 wins for AIK – in fact, Gefle have only beaten AIK 4 times in their 22 head to heads. 4 from AIK’s last 6 games have seen a minimum of 3 goals scored, and 4 from Gefle’e last 5 have seen the same. Gefle’s last two home games have seen high scoring wins for the away sides, and I’m hoping for that trend to continue…

    IFK Goteborg v Hammarby

Interestingly – all 10 of Hammarby’s Allsvenskan games have seen both team scoring. Although they’ve only won 2 from their opening 10, they do score a fair few and are the leagues joint 7th top goalscorer’s with 18. More than today’s opponents have scored. Goteborg are very leaky and have conceded at least once in their last 8 matches…based on this I’m happy to take Hammarby to score.

Hammarby score around 77% of their goals before 75 minutes so I’m taking them to score before 70:00.

    Malmo v Falkenberg.

3rd play last here – with Malmo having won 3 of their 4 meetings and the other ending as a draw. Malmo are in good stead and scoring well…in fact, they’ve scored a minimum of 2 goals in for of their last 5 Allsvenskan matches. Falkenberg are in poor form, having lost their last 4 league matches. In those losses, they’ve also conceded at least 2 goals per game…so I’m happy to take Malmo to score 2 goals or more.

AIK to win and over 2.5 FT goals @ 7/5

    Hammarby to score before 70:00 @ 5/6

    Hammarby to score
Malmo to score 2 goals or more

    Double @ 1.87

    Good luck gentlemen.

Heads up guys – one of my favourite leagues for goals has some games kicking off today, around 4pm onwards…that’s the Swedish U21’s league. It’s been very profitable for me recently for HT/FT goals and worth another look again today.

Currently not much available pre-match, but definitely worth a look in-play (or just before) on those old faithful goal markets.

      *WIN* – GAIS U21 v Angelholms U21 over 1.5 HT goals.
      *WIN* – Helsingborg U21 v Hacken U21 over 1.5 HT goals.

Looking good for the over 3.5 goals in both games so far
