May 21: Scottish Football Betting Preview

ONLY Hearts can stop Celtic from being crowned Invincibles on Sunday – and it’s possibly the best fixture the treble chasers could have been handed.

Brendan Rodgers’s side have been unstoppable from day one and my only fear for those who backed the Hoops to go unbeaten at prices such as 33-1 was the manager resting players.

The odds on a repeat achievement next season are half that – 16-1 with McBookie.

Rodgers has rotated but still got results and the performances have been the same with every player who fills in producing the goods.

Hearts on the other hand have been rubbish under Ian Cathro. Only Inverness have taken fewer points since he arrived and the Jambos have point from 15 post-split.

Even with next weekend’s Scottish Cup Final on their mind Celtic should be backed to win big to celebrate a title party.

Celtic are no bigger than 2-9 with McBookie and I like 188BET‘S 24-23 -2AH which means you get your money back if the home side win by two. This was put up as a Super Single on Friday night.

Those looking at bigger scorelines should consider Celtic -2 at 6-4 with Coral or -3 at 10-3 with McBookie.

It’s 11-1 on aggregate to Celtic in three meetings this season while Rodgers’s side have netted 17 in their previous four.

Picking scorers might have to wait until line-ups are revealed but I’m taking a chance on Patrick Roberts who is playing his last game at Parkhead before returning to Man City after the Cup Final. He is 7-1 with McBookie to score first.

Hearts are a best 16-1 with Marathonbet but I doubt even owner Ann Budge would risk backing them.

The other two games are totally meaningless. Partick Thistle didn’t lay a glove on Celtic on Thursday but could beat Aberdeen if Derek McInnes rotates his squad ahead of the Cup Final. Jags are 18-5 at betfair and 27-11 at 888sport draw no bet but I want to see line-ups before having a punt.

St Johnstone’s post-split record in recent seasons is superb – three defeats in 19 – and they should push Rangers all the way.

Saints could win at 11-5 with betfair but I’m taking draw no bet at 13-10 with McBookie.

Think there’s some value on Celtic anytime scorers tomorrow. Fancy them to put a few past a poor Hearts. In my opinion, Betfred have priced McGregor wrongly at 5/1 anytime. I think he has 4 in his last 5. That seems a great bet to me. Also like look of Roberts 5/2 anytime and Boyata 8/1.

Have also dutched correct scores of 5-0, 6-0 and 7-0. Priced at 22/1, 45/1 and 100/1 respectively at Winner.

Main bet is Celtic -3 10/3 Betvictor.

Best of luck to everyone with all bets tomorrow.
