IT'S a tough weekend for punters and one where a lot of second guessing will be done. Team news will be vital especially for teams who have already sealed play-off spots – as most of them will rest players.

I got it wrong with Leicester on Wednesday because I expected Nigel Pearson to play a weakened team ahead of the Saturday lunchtime meeting with Newcastle. Luckily my Chelsea -1 tip still came in and I'm sure with hindsight Pearson would have left some of his main men on the sidelines.

Leicester couldn't make it five wins in a row but looked for spells and if they play like they did in the first half can beat a Newcastle side that's suffered seven defeats on the bounce.

The Foxes are on the shortlist and these teams are picked from my first look at the weekend coupon taking into account form, stats, league position but not team news. All picks are around evens or above

Fans of any side who believes their favourites will be weakened (or hungover) can comment here and help us defeat a tricky card.

Super Single shortlist

LEICESTER v Newcastle (12.45pm)

Blackpool v HUDDERSFILED

CHARLTON v Bournemouth

LEEDS v Rotherham

Wimbledon v CHELTENHAM

Dundee Utd v ABERDEEN

HEARTS v Rangers

LIVINGSTON v QoS

Stirling v STENHOUSEMUIR

Looking at the list provided Mr F I would go with Leicester. Desperate for a win and in good form against an hapless Newcastle side.

You surprise me with the Chalton to beat Bournemouth prediction, Bournemouth are looking a good side and will be hoping Watford slip up! Can only see Bournemouth winning this one!

Bert, depends how much partying they’ve been doing!

Leeds for me MrF. After the last few weeks Rotherham have had I don’t think they’ll care what happens. Obviously they’ll be relieved but they must be physically and mentally exhausted.

I also think bournemouth win is on the cards. They will be fighting til the end and hoping watford slip up. Tough weekend to win money. Im expecting a few upsets

Agree fancy Bournemouth to win but the two that jump out at me are Leicester to win at home to a very poor Newcastle side who if the season had another fewweeks to go would probably go down and Livingston, fighting to stay up and in decent form against qos who will surely rest players for their play off match. Team news will be vital in yhthis one tho.

I think Livingston is the pick if the bunch still need to win and QoS having nothing to play for and may rest players before play off.

I think you should consider adding Falkirk not to lose (or double chance) at 21/20. Hibs are under enormous pressure and have been proven incapable of beating the bairns all season.

Livingston 13/8 Bet365 or to score over 1.5 team goals, pretty sure QOS are resting players for following week and price will drop.

My super single for the weekend will be £22 . 50 on Swansea to beat stoke at 5/4 to take the winnings to £50.64 this is my 2nd bet after Hartlepool beat Exerter at 5/4 to take £10 to£22.50

Newcastle cant lose forever, don’t you have a second thought they may bounce back.I expect the top teams to win in championhip

I agree with Kingsley. All bad runs will come to an end. Already 7 defeats, it’s just a matter of time now that they may get some luck that will get them a win or at least a draw.

    West Ham

Hibs have not beaten Falkirk all season fair enough but I still think they are the better side and will avoid having to play an extra play off game.

  15. Renwick 9 years ago

    Huddersfield will beat Blackpool

Hmm Mr.F you missed out Villa to beat Everton! As a Villa fan we’ve been in form since Sherwood took over. Quality players, Bentekes on fire and we should have got a result against City.
Everton are back in form now but are flaccid away from home and dont have much to play for for.

    Villa win is 2.75
    Villa 0.0 (DNB) is 1.9
    Villa either half is 1.8
    (BET365)

Let me know what everyone thinks.

WlRudd, both to score would be my pick at Villa. Everton back on form as you say.

Sunderland v Southampton BTTS at 15/13 looks tasty. Sunderland need to be picking points up and they’ve got to see this as an opportunity to get something.
