IRELAND are still clinging to hope of reaching the World Cup quarter-finals but need to avoid defeat in one of their two remaining games and bookies don’t fancy them to do it against India.

The Irish are 8-1 outsiders with Boylepsorts for the 1am Pool B clash on Monday night with India as short as 1-10 at Coral.

Ed Joyce hit a century in Ireland’s thrilling five-run win over Zimbabwe last time out and he’s 10-3 to again be their top batsman while for India it’s Virat Kohli at 11-4 with StanJames followed by Rohit Sharma at 3-1 with Paddy Power.

The Paris-Nice cycling race gets under way today and Richie Porte is favourite for overall victory at 9-4 with BetVictor while bet365 make Alexander Kristoff most likely to win stage one at 11-4.

There’s also an eight-game NBA card and four in the NHL. Good luck if you’re having a bet and let’s hear your sporting tips and thoughts.

    Whoa! OKC/Toronto Under 213 @ 10/11 **WIN** 212 haha

They all count but it’s why I hate unders but that’s twice in a row in two nights the unders have prevailed. Wasn’t the combined SS but I’ll take it. There is no ego involved in this but does anybody know when I last lost? I’m not sure? Brian??

  2. Jordan 2 years ago

Ah I think it was Wednesday looking back at fixtures. Think I tipped Boston on the + in Cleveland (rookie error). Oh well 100% on the other sports from then! We’ll be back with a combined bet tonight (hopefully).

  3. Jordan 2 years ago

Not a tip but I’m putting this up to see what it’s at tomorrow when I finish work. The time is 2:00AM. It opened at 205 3 hours ago. Hawks/Kings 207.

Also a small stake on Samuel Dumoulin @ 151.00 EW with 365

  6. OriaZ 2 years ago

Small bet on Mavericks -7.5 at home against the Lakers. (10/11) (** LOST ** by 1 point)

Also on Jordan (** WIN ** by 1 point) and Huggy’s (** LOST ** by 3 points) picks.

    An a “safer” trebble of
    – OKC/Raptors Under 225.5
    – Mavericks ML
    – Celtics +7.5

    (1.02/1) (** WIN **)

Very close night for all picks 😀

  7. thereddevils 2 years ago

My NBA bet will be Jazz +5,5 because they are in fine form.

    WIN (HC wasn’t even necessary!)

  8. Attila 2 years ago

One NBA bet for me today:

    – Memphis Grizzlies -4.0 @ $1.92 (10 points)

The Bulls are banged up with most their big names still out. The Grizzlies will be all over them today, particularly as Bulls are in a back-to-back spot & will run out of steam in the 2nd half. Bulls haven’t played well at home all season, and I don’t see that changing today. Grizzlies win by 7!

Samper Montana, who I tipped yesterday to beat Souza tomorrow, has come down from 15/8 with PP to 6/5. Hope anyone interested got on early.

Thats the weight of your money AD making the price drop!

Hah, highly doubtful. I’m sticking to bigger odds but lower stakes. Less stressful and harder to be struck down by disaster!

Team to score most 6’s – Ireland

    11/4 stanjames

    3 points

  15. Harry 2 years ago

Paul I’m hoping the Irish get lucky at least once more as I’ve got them to qualify! So your root bet is still impossible to cover, you’ll have to hope he gets a big score v Afghanistan

  16. Ad 2 years ago

Going to hope post Davis cup duty proves hard for someone else

Fabiano De Paula to beat Alejandro Gonzalez @ 3/1

Always a danger it could end up a real damp squib of a pick, but I’m happy to risk it.

Cheers Mr orange it’s good to know. I tried looking for it earlier to jog my memory but couldn’t find it!

  20. Harry 2 years ago

    Found it!

    Cricket World Cup

England to be eliminated in group stage

    9/2 Skybet

4 teams from England’s pool will qualify for the quarter finals. Australia and New Zealand are guaranteed to go through, and Sri Lanka should qualify comfortably in 3rd place. The 4th spot should be a straight fight between England and Bangladesh, the other 2 test nations. England are favourites ahead of Bangladesh to qualify but I don’t see too much of a gulf in class at the moment, and Bangladesh can give anyone a scare with the in form Shakib.

The other reason for going with Bangladesh is because their game tonight with Australia could be potentially rained off due to a storm. If it does get rained off then both teams draw and get one point each, which would give them a huge advantage over England who got thrashed by the aussies. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this price drop if Bangladesh do get a point against Australia.

Harry, my man! What an end to a stressful day at work! Completely forgot about it overnight and have just popped on and seen it. Brilliant mate. Cheers England 😀

  22. Jordan 2 years ago

Huggy sorry mate I haven’t got time today to go confer today as I’m off out early for the big game but I fancy Charlotte/Washington over 189.5 @ 10/11 @ Various, same stakes as last night. Good luck if you follow.

May the best team prevail Ad, Harry, Huggy and Honda.

    Am on Jordan’s pick.
    Waiting on Huggy’s pick still.

    Little NBA 4-fold for me:

    – Hawks ML
    – Hornets/Wizzards over 177.5 pts
    – Heat +7.5
    – Golden State +4.5

    @ 1.15/1

  25. Harry 2 years ago

Jordan it was a pretty comfortable win in the end. Can’t believe Afghanistan are 7/1 to beat us too. May the best team prevail tonight, I’m not confident we will though

  26. paul 2 years ago

Harry eng top batsman cud be any of 5 yet. Theyv played ok in patches but brutal in large swathes.

    Ireland to get most 6s?

    WOW thatd be funny.

Think we cud be humiliated by these guys like sa

THouGh india might prefer we qualify than pakistan

Ill put 4 quid on the 6s for the crack

AussIes have looked best to me

  27. V P 2 years ago

Going to say now you’ve lost your money on that one

  28. V P 2 years ago

Paul if anyone they’d qualify instead of West Indies but don’t think it will happen

  29. Harry 2 years ago

We’ll see. India don’t score many sixes and Ireland have a few big hitters. I’m not saying I think Ireland will win because their attack won’t stand a chance but India batsmen are stroke players rather than sloggers. The India attack isn’t the best in my opinion and Ireland will be giving 100% effort whereas India have already qualified So it looks like a good price

  30. Harry 2 years ago

Paul, aussies and Indians have both looked best to me with the bat and new Zealand have looked best with the ball. I backed NZ pre tournament so I’m happy to stick with them!

Again I’d say to have any chance you’d need them to bat first. But I’m still backing India to dominate completely hopefully

  36. V P 2 years ago

And our attack has been performing very well so far one of the best along with New Zealand so far

  37. paul 2 years ago

    WIzards match I mean 10/11

    NBA Picks

    GSW -5
    Bulls +5.5
    Hornets -1.5

  39. Harry 2 years ago

I’m not sure, I think if India bat first they’d be comfortable knocking fours and reach 350 with ease. Then if Ireland have to chase and properly go for it they’ll be aggressive and start slogging it. The total boundaries mark is at 61.5 which I’d definitely take if India batted first as they’re capable of 400+ tonight

  40. V P 2 years ago

    I wouldn’t mind that

  41. Harry 2 years ago

This game is already looking good for boundaries

  42. paul 2 years ago

Ireland look like getting 300 easily

Surely its time to replace eng at top table with us

  43. Harry 2 years ago

Paul that might be a little rash but definitely Zimbabwe!

Bulls haven’t played well at home all season, and I don’t see that changing today. Grizzlies win by 7!

***WON*** – Grizzlies won by 10 in the end. So that’s a nice 9.2 points profit for me today :-)

  45. Harry 2 years ago

    Sri Lanka v Scotland

    Total boundaries – over 52.5

    5/6 williamhill

    3 points

This game tonight is being played at the bellerive oval in hobart which is known as a batsmens paradise.
The only other match in this world cup to have been played here was Ireland v Zimbabwe, in which there were over 650 runs, 55 fours and 16 sixes.
Sri Lanka’s last two games have seen 82 and 64 total boundaries respectively. Scotland managed a record 318 runs in their last outing against Bangladesh, in which there were a total 74 boundaries.

The only fear would be if Scotland opted to bat first and malinga utilised the early movement on the wicket to his advantage before it becomes flat and ideal for the batsmen. If the openers can hold out the early movement, Coetzer in particular, then this should be safe.
