AFTER both my singles won on Friday it was two losers on Saturday. Morton sunk the Super Single and Wolfsburg drew a rare blank as they downed the goals single.
Overall my main tips were poor but four aways out of four saved the day and I was pleased to see plenty of people were on. It’s one of my most popular bets in the Daily Record and the only reason I put it up. The aways were Sheff Wed, Norwich, Leeds and Burton and paid 29-1.
I was at a Clydebank FC fundraising dinner on Saturday night so while I’ve researched the tips I haven’t had a chance to do the usual write-up.
Sides I considered for the Top Treble included Liverpool at home to Blackburn in the FA Cup, Roma at Chievo and Napoli at home to Inter in Serie A and Bayer Leverkusen at Paderborn. Celtic should win at Dundee United but they are of course without cup-tied pair Stuart Armstrong and Gary Mackay-Steven and have some other injury concerns.
For the Super Single sides I looked at include Ajax -1 v Excelsior, Eintracht Frankfurt at Cologne, Torino at Udinese and Real Sociedad at home to Espanyol.
In the end I’ve decided to go with Hibs who should beat Berwick by several goals on current form. Hibs have goals in their side and have won five of their last seven by at least two so if they play to their usual standard should win by a few against League Two opponents who have lost their last three in the division.
Hibs -2 pays 13-10 at Paddy Power but I’m playing a little safer with Hibs -2 Asian Handicap at 4-5 with 888sport.
