Mar 7: Jordan’s Sports Tips & Chat

Jordans_SportsTips

ANDY MURRAY’S epic win over Kei Nishikori carried Britain to Davis Cup victory over Japan and they’ve been slashed from 16-1 to 7-2 (betfair) to retain the trophy.

Next up for the Brits is a quarter-final battle with title favourites Serbia (6-4, Betfair) in July that will see the top two players in the world batter it out as Murray tries to get the better of Novak Djokovic.

A French team packing talents such as Gilles Simon are second in the betting at 19-2 and John Isner and Co’s USA are 3-1.

Today’s sporting action is pretty sparse but the basketball rolls on with a seven-match card and there’s also a few NHL fixtures.

Post your tips and chat here and good luck if having a punt.

I’ve been looking at Zach LaVine’s stats for ages now, since being moved to the starting line up 5 games ago he’s averaged 19.4(21, 20, 21, 10 and 25) points in 38.4 minutes. His line is set at 15.5 on Paddy, might be able to find it slightly lower when the other bookies bring out their props as his average is only 13.4 for the season.

    Cycling: Paris-Nice stage 1

Yesterday’s bet lost, but I really like this one for today. Most likely to be a sprint finish.

    Match-ups:

    Bonifazio to beat Kump
    Kittel to beat Greipel
    Double @ 2.04 with 888

Bonifazio is a really fast talented youngster. He was 6th in Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne two weeks ago and has a very good lead-out train. Kump did well in the sprints at the begin of the season in Australia, but hasn’t had any good results after that. His team also brought fast guys Pibernik and Cimolai for these finishes, so they could ride for them.

Kittel is the fastest rider in the world and the man to beat today, they also brought a very good lead-out for sprint stages like this. Greipel broke a rib in the Tour of Algarve in February and none of his usual lead-out riders start in this race . I can’t see him beating Kittel.

No bet last night so no harm done.

With the Warriors losing last night in LA I would not like to be playing them tonight in the ‘Roaracle’. Cue the Orlando Magic who absolutely bombed everyone the other night at home to the Suns. Repeat performance or they step up and play their game? Either way I think the Warriors cover -6.5 on the alternative spread. Not a chance they lose two on the trot (famous last words).

The Hornets are in with a shout of a playoff place and host the Timberwolves at home who play tomorrow night at home to the Spurs. Neither game will be easy for the Wolves but they probably won’t make the playoffs so hopefully Charlotte have enough incentive to get the W at home tonight. Wolves have lost 17 of their last 20 on the road with Charlotte winning 8 of their last 10 at home, the last 4 h2h, and 8 of the last 10 at home between the two.

    Warriors -6.5
    Hornets -4.5

    4/5 @ 365 – 2.5 points

Forgot that Butler is back for the Bulls so you could add Chicago on the ML at home to the Bucks. Treble pays 27/20 @ 365 and may be worth a point.

Im on this mate, looks really good actually. Bounce back for GSW, wolves in a let down spot on the road & Bulls with Butler + confidence after their last home win vs Houston.

Cashed out my Evens treble for a small profit yesterday once Raptors started throwing away their 17point lead. Cant believe they lost at home!
Luckily its daytime in Oz during NBA & i can cash out.
Well done any winners yesterday, was a tough card!

    NBA Double

    -4 LA Clippers 5/6
    +18.5 Magic 1/2

    Double

1.2 points returns 34 points with bet 365

Clippers should deal with the Mavericks and after last night would be surprised if GSW put in a A star shift which they will need to beat the magic by 19. Magic played a poor match last time out and should motivated to put in a performance.

    Adriatic Basketball League

    Krka @ Zvezda (17:00GMT)

Zvezda entertain Krka in the Adriatic league. from last 5 games Zvezda have 4 wins from 5 and I expect them to go 5 from 6 in this, the last game of regular season which could see them leapfrog Cedevita in 2nd place.

Krka have 2 wins from their last 5, they have no chance of securing a playoff spot and therefore this game is of no significance to them.

Zvezda will look for a positive start and with the help of their great home support should dominate from the off.

    Zvezda (1st Half -8) @ 1/1 Skybet – 2pts staked.

    Good luck!

    EuroHoops Fourfold

Not a great deal I like other than Zvezda so will try a fourfold which has served me well over the season but not attempted one for a while….

    Kapfenberg Bulls (Money)
    Metalac (Money)
    Randers / Svenborg (Over 178)
    Strasbourg / Monaco (Under 154)

    Fourfold @ 26/1 Bet365 – 1pt staked.

You could also remove Metalac who are 33/10 for a 6/1 Treble.

    Good luck!

Sorry this is late but been busy

    Tennis

    WTA Indian Wells

Jarmila Wolfe v Laura Siegemund 8:30pm
    JARMILA WOLFE 12/5 NAP/NB bet365 (double stake)

After another winning week last week which was the best this year, although I have shown I profit for every every week I have tipped on tennis
This one Wolfe is that price for a reason but she has been underestimated by the bookies and she is a strong pick here at massive odds

Cheers @jordan for the football double!

    NBA player news:
    – Warriors: Draymond Green (illness) and Andre Iguodala (left hamstring) are both questionable.
    – Spurs: Gregg Popovich will miss San Antonio’s next two games.
    – Pacers: Stuckey, Miles are questionable.

    Picks for tonight:
Spurs/Pacers: This is gonna be a close battle, Spurs are already qualified for the players but I think they’ll want to keep the pressure on the Warriors for the 1st place and homefield advantage in the playoffs. Pacers need to keep winning in order to secure their playoff spot but I think Spurs will be too much for them (even without their coach).
Hornets/Timberwolves: If the Hornets’ offense shows up, they should be able to deal against a poor Timberwolves defense (ranked 28th).
Bulls/Bucks: Bulls team is back in force and will be pumped up after their win against the Rockets.
Mavericks/Clippers: Mavericks will come back to a loss at Denver (never easy to play there) and now on back-to-back I just think the Clippers will be too much for them.

    – Spurs -1.5, Hornets -4.5 (double) @ 19/20 (Unibet) – 2 pt
    – Bulls ML, Clippers ML (double) @ 19/20 (Unibet) – 1 pt

There are two props I fancy from the same game tonight but thoughts only.

New Orleans rank 29th against Centers in the league and in my opinion ‘Boogie’ Cousins is the best in the game. 39.5 Points and Rebounds @ 5/6 is a lot, but maybe not for him when you take the match up involved.

The other player from this game is Anthony Davis. The Kings rank 29th against Power Forwards, and again, some will argue that Anthony Davis could well be the best some day (not while LeBron is still playing) but he can certainly ball. 35.5 Points and Rebounds @ EVS @ PP is also a lot, but again, the match up is favourable. Boogies PR&A are 43.5 @ 5/6 @ 365

Great shout on the dunk champ Nick.

Hornets cover the 4.5 (just) so its onto the Warriors with the Bulls looking ok (for now).

Cousins smashing it, Davis not so much.

Nikola Vucevic is out for Orlando. That’s a fair bit of offense and rebounding. Draymond Green will ‘try’ to play. That dreaded try word again.

Oladipo will start for Orlando and 24.5 PR&A could be worth a go @ 5/6 @ PP. Fournier has been rotten recently.

Terms of the deal yet to be disclosed but it probably cost them a couple of picks, but they have the first overall pick so shouldn’t be too bothered. Should probably draft an offensive lineman though if they’re getting Murray as they weren’t great last season. That drops Bosa to third or fourth pick as Cleveland will likely draft a QB. Unless they pick up RGIII through free agency which starts tomorrow.

Na Green post is just a good sign for the Warriors winning mate. Prop I mentioned for that game is Oladipo but nothing officially staked by myself as I’m on the Warriors to cover the 6.5.
