cricketworldcuptrophy

THE co-hosts are both in action at the Cricket World Cup action on Saturday and Australia have a tougher test than New Zealand.

The Kiwis, top of Pool A, face Afghanistan in Napier at 10pm UK time and look set to continue their terrific form. They're huge odds-on favourites for another win and captain marvel Brendon McCullum is 9-4 at Stanjames to be his team's top batsmen.

Then at 3.30am it's the Aussies against Sri Lanka, who dumped England in their last outing. Michael Clarke's men are 1-3 at Ladbrokes for victory with the Sri Lankans available at 11-4 at Bet365.

In the Davis Cup tennis Britain have all but wrapped up victory over the USA thanks to an Andy Murray canter and James Ward's scintillating comeback from two sets down against John Isner on Friday.

On Saturday it's doubles action with the Brits looking to tie up their triumph a day early and other ties ranging from Belgium v Switzerland to Kazakhstan against Italy.

There's also the likes of UK Open darts, boxing, golf and rugby on a packed day of sport so post your tips and chat here and good luck with your bets.

Won quite a bit on the first day of the UK open darts, thought I’d post up my bet for day 2. Odds of around 3/1 for the following 5 fold:

    James Wade
    Jan Dekker
    Kim Huybrechts
    Ian White
    Phil Taylor

    Cycling: Strade Bianche 2015

Great one day race on gravel roads with short climbs in Tuscany and a spectacular steep finish in Siena.

I will be on below match-ups, winner in capitals:

    KENNAUGH v Montaguti
    VAN AVERMAET v Vanmarcke
    Double @ 2.83 with WH

Kennaugh and Montaguti never did this race before, but after the great racing in Andalucia I have to go for Kennaugh. Montaguti is his teams 3rd man in tomorrow’s race and I think he will have to help the other 2 favourites.

Van Avermaet already had some good results in this race with a 5th and a 6th place. For Vanmarcke it’s his first Strade, but I can’t see him beat Van Avermaet on these sort of climbs.

Kennaugh is not riding today, grrrr

The SS has been chosen and as I’ve gone to post it it’s gone up another .5 point.

    Atlanta Hawks/Cleveland Cavaliers over 203.5 total points @ 10/11 @ Various **LOSE**

    Over 202.5 @ PP @ 10/11 **WIN**

Can you believe it? Me and Huggy talking between us with the .5 point going up cost that to lose. Well, not really because I’m not over 6ft an don’t play basketball, not sure on Huggy. Anyone in their right mind would have taken the 202.5 so hope you did. We both fancied the Pacers -6 and Huggy posted so options were there. Terribly unlucky. James was sh*t! 9 Turnovers. Not worth an MVP vote!

    • Brian 9 years ago

Shopped around for the overs and took the 202.5 on PP.
Thank god Jordan as I got beat by 0.5 point earlier on the week as you know and it hurts lol.

Missed your Pacers -6 post Huggy as Im in a different time zone and offline about 6 or 7pm UK time.

      Good work lads !

    • Jordan 9 years ago

Brian, always might be worth setting an alarm for 11PM UK time just for a ten minute browse on here, but well done for shopping mate, me and Huggy both got the 202.5 but the Cavs missed some key shots late on so I do apologise for those that took the extra point. Will give Huggy my thoughts tomorrow mate.

    Darts UK open

It is an open draw so anybody can draw anybody. MVG seems to have an elbow or muscle injury but prevailed. Gary Anderson threw the game away against Mervyn King, missing 13 match darts! Defending Champion Adrian Lewis drew Barneveld and lost.

Taylor as won this tournament 5 times and his premier league form is good coming into this. An easy win last night and a decent draw for this morning should see him through to the last 16. He as over took MVG in the betting and looks a worthy favourite.

It is worth taking a couple of big priced Each way selection in this open draw tournament. James Wade is another former UK open champion. I said on Thursday he had beaten Taylor the last two times they met and he had a healthy lead on Thursday in Exeter but lost. He looks like a runner at 14/1 888sport.

Robert Thornton 33/1 (888sport) who was left out the premier league will be looking to get back in it. He too won this tournament beating Phil Taylor in the final. He took out Simon Whitlock yesterday and looks a cracking price.

Kim Huybrechts also looks big having beaten RVB on Thursday and averaged over a 100. The week previous he averaged 107 in a loss to Dave Chisnall. He is pounding the treble 20 bed and as took out 170 checkouts in each of the last two days, he could go far at 28/1 Betvictor.

The likes of Chisnall, Barney, Bunting, Wright are all still going strong but a real outsider is Jelle Klassen. He faces Andrew Gilding who beat Kevin Painter 9-0 last night, however Klassen who is a former premier league player and gave Gary Anderson his biggest scare in the world championships. He as been playing well on the floor tournaments getting to the quarters finals of the European Championships, and a final on the floor as well as another five last 16 appearances. If he gets the luck of the draw he could be a live outsider at 50/1 Skybet.

    UK Open

    TAYLOR TO WIN 9/4

UK Open 4 to follow Each Way 1,2

    WADE 14/1
    THORNTON 33/1
    HUYBRECHTS 25/1
    KLASSEN 50/1

Good luck if your having a bet

    • Brian 9 years ago

      Best of 17 games Archie

So youd need him to win 9-3 or better to cover the spread of 5.5

Someone correct me if thats wrong advise

  7. thereddevils 9 years ago

    I had over 203,5 Jordan. I’m really wondering why i didn’t choose 202,5…
Radwanska was a big fail so tennis went the wrong way as well, good that Pacers did the job but still a bad night!
    Tennis : Wozniacki -6,5 games? odds : 1.71

  8. PumaDrifter 9 years ago

Berriere to defeat Guez ? What about bryan/bryan ?

  9. Ad 9 years ago

    Yes Puma.

Barrere to best Guez @ 11/8

As long as he’s odds against this week in taking him. He is looking really good but he bookies keep looking at his ranking and underestimating him.

  10. tomtie 9 years ago

Brian spot on mate best if 17 legs i.e first to 9. So 9-3 or under needed.

  11. Attila 9 years ago

Huggy/Jordan, I was on +201.0 as I got on it about 12 hours before it was posted by Jordan (gr8 minds think alike eh!). But that 3 pointer on the final buzzer from 76′s killed my Jazz -6.5 bet…lost by .5 points…same heartbreaking when that happens!
For today, I’m on Pacers -8.5 and just that one bet…keep fading the Knicks until they stopped getting smashed!

A night of close shaves all round. Main thing is both SS’s pull through (sort of). Attila good stuff mate. Reddevils so unlucky on the half point mate but at least the Pacers cut the losses for you. Just eyeing up the spreads/totals now.

  14. thereddevils 9 years ago

Congrats Orange, Van Avermaet 2nd and Vanmarcke 4th. What a race that was!

Wozniacki -6,5 games was a win, but I went safe with 2-0…

  15. Ad 9 years ago

Barrere is the man! Can’t believe the level of his tennis this week. If he keeps this up it will be another 2-0 win and I’ll be backing him to take down Paire if the odds are good enough. How he’s ranked four hundred and something I don’t know. Very glad I stumbled across his first round match!

  16. Ad 9 years ago

Cash out time on Barrere at 4-1 up in third.

  17. Ad 9 years ago

Cash out wasn’t necessary in the end, but better safe than sorry. Barrere wins it 6-1 in the third. Onto the final!

  18. PumaDrifter 9 years ago

Ad we should all send that barerre guy a beer after he lifts the trophy tommorow ! He is a an unknown beast ! :D

    • Ad 9 years ago

  23. Ray 9 years ago

    Darts tonight

    Wright most 180s 13/8
Hit 10 in the 3rd round against beaton, new darts combined with throwing quicker seems to have improved his maximum hitting

Mvg huybrechts over 13.5 legs 8/13
Huybrechts playing well combined with mvg not on top form leads to me thinking this will most definately go over 13.5 legs. First to 9 so anything better than 9-4 either way will do.

    Bunting win 1/3
Played well earlier against chisnall, even when chisnall hit his purple patch bunting continued to score and finish well. 1/3 is a good price to put in any acca.

Treble 4.65/1 GL if you follow

  24. Ad 9 years ago

I’m going to have to back kokkinakis to beat Vesely seeing as it’s odds against. Vesely hasn’t done much in his recent matches, which includes a 3-0 defeat to Tomic in the first rubber, whereas Kokkinakis is in good form and must be full of confidence after his dramatic and impressive win over Rosol.

    Kokkinakis @ 6/5

  25. Ad 9 years ago

Barrere is 7/2 on betfair exchange so I’m going to take that. One more miracle please Gregoire!

    Barrere d Paire @ 7/2

The 2-0 win is @ 10/1 and I’m too greedy not to go for it as well!

Evening boys, found a hot spot in one of the local bars. Huggy has kindly posted the picks for today so thought I’d pop on and say good luck to all. Cavs total now 211 so hopefully a few other people have the same ideas and that isn’t mine and Huggy’s stake driving the total down :D

  37. Kyle B 9 years ago

Just been in touch with William Hill regarding the total boundaries bet, thought it would include extras as well e.g 4 wides but they said it is just the boundaries that come off the bat.

Thanks for the tip Harry gonna do a bit research and look at some stats first before I follow :)

  38. Harry 9 years ago

OriaZ I agree mate, was very shocked to get home this morning and see they had lost. Seems they completely collapsed which I didn’t see happening! I think this price would have been worth signing up to 888sport for as it’s only 0.56/1 elsewhere and should be worth going big on

  39. Harry 9 years ago

good luck kyle, you’ve got enough time to check it out anyway. I’d have done a write up with all the stats if I wasn’t so tired but off the top of my head I think I found the only other game on that ground was s.a v West Indies which went over. And aussies and Sri Lanka have both been scoring and leaking quite a few boundaries. Plus both teams batters are well in form so it could be a high scorer

  40. Kyle B 9 years ago

Yeah you are right there were 58 boundaries in South Africa game mainly due to De Villiers going on a rampage and Soth Africa getting 400+. Do u think ill have time to see who wins the toss first or will William Hill suspend betting?

  41. Harry 9 years ago

I’m not sure mate, it would be risky As I’ve not tried it. I personally think both teams are capable of batting for a good while though. Sri Lanka haven’t given away too many wickets lately and batters look to have found their feet. Both teams scored and conceded quite a few against England too. If you’re unsure you could put half stake on now then see if you can put the other half on after the toss

  42. Kyle B 9 years ago

Yeah I am goin to follow your bet with half stake. I personally would rather have Australia to bat first because of there consistently high scores for Sri Lanka to chase down, bigger chance of more runs meaning more boundaries scored.

  43. Jordan 9 years ago

Suns for for 16 in the 2nd quarter :D. I’ll see what cover is like at HT and post gents but we’re looking good for three in a row.

  44. Jordan 9 years ago
