CUP football's hairy at the best of times and so it proved on Thursday night. French Cup holders Guingamp faced fourth-tier amateurs Concarneau and needed a last-gasp free-kick to notch a 2-1 win.
That saved my night after I'd gone with Guingamp -1 AH for the Super Single and over 1.5 Guingamp goals for the goals single.
The goals bet is back in profit after a 5pt winner and the Super Single loss remains the same.
On Friday there is a big game in the Championship as Fulham entertain Bournemouth and that's a tough one for the visitors. In the Scottish Cup quarter-finals QoS entertain league rivals Falkirk and that's not an easy one to call.
Queens beat the Bairns 3-0 at home in the league and two meetings at Falkirk have finished 1-1. The Dumfries men have won three of the last four meetings at Palmerston and can edge this at 6-5 with McBookie although I'd be happier to take over 2.5 goals which has come up in the last three.
My Super Single in Friday's Daily Record is Levante at home to Eibar in La Liga. Eibar have lost six in a row and sit five points above third-bottom Levante who they visit tonight.
Eibar have netted just one goal in that spell and you have to fancy Levante at 6-5 with BetVictor and William Hill. Levante have won their last two home games against Granada and Malaga.
Elsewhere struggling Stuttgart welcome Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga and it's away or draw for me while Marseille need to improve their form if they want to win at Toulouse. In Portugal there is a big game between Braga and Porto.
We have the usual lower-league matches in France and Holland and I look forward to seeing tips from the regulars.
I'd picked out Willem v Twente for a goals and with raaljaca also posting it I might as well put it up now. Twente have won the last three meetings at Willem 6-2, 3-1 and 3-1 and beat then 3-2 at home earlier in the season.
Both teams have scored in five of Willem's last six and four of those have gone over 2.5 goals. Willem's game have been less productive with just two of six going over 2.5 but when it comes to facing Twente it seems strikers on both sides have Twente-Twente vision.
As I said Levante are the Super Single in today's Daily Record and going with the on a small stakes here too. On current form they should win but they're not good enough to be trusted so it's a 2pt single.

Are Cowdenbeath likely to bounce back from losing 10-0 last week and make it difficult for Rangers?? I know a lot of people have made money backing against Rangers just after Christmas but (taking nothing away from Hearts) last week showed a clear difference in class between some of the top championship sides and the ones at the bottom. The last time the sides met Rangers won 3-0 which suggests the -1 available @ 5/6 might be a good bet, let alone -2 @ 2/1.
Any other thoughts on this? I know a large portion of the site are from Scotland and may well have more knowledge than me.
aj, Rangers should win by a couple mate but no other side can match Hearts ability to tear these sides apart. I would see Hibs winning by 3 and Rangers by 2 against the likes of Cowdenbeath but only Hearts will destroy them.

Last night I fancied Juventus and Fiorentina to end my poor betting run which has seen me enter minus the last couple of days.
Was relieved to see this come in first half at a nice 11/10 price as well.

James I added Galaxy over 1.5 goals to my Mexico double for a smaller treble as they are the champions albeit without Landon Donovan. Zardes had a breakout season who is their best young talent and may be the man that replaces Keane as their top goalscorer with his legs getting older as the days go on. Chicago aren’t one of the teams to challenge for a playoff spot and only won 6 games all season. Champions at home on the opening day should be a win but I’ll sacrifice a smaller stake on the Galaxy goals. Chicago averaged 1.8 goals against them throughout 17 games on the road. Galaxy averaging 2.6 per home game.

No mate I had them in that double on a smaller stake but it didn’t matter in the end. They are playing like it’s still the end of the season. Surprised they aren’t 4-0 already. I thought tonights games would bring joy in all fairness mate but it wasn’t to be. I know mate I’ll be on the late shift when it’s a bit quieter. Thank god the MLS has started.
