Mar 6: Jordan’s Football Tips

JORDAN’S favourite league – the MLS – kicks off tonight and he’s picked out a scorer tip.

He’s aslo advising a goals bet from La Liga:

Athletic Bilbao over 1.5 Team Goals (53-50, 888sport) – 5 points

Jordan says: Members will know the MLS was very kind to me last season, but without going too mad being the first game of the season, I’m going to chance a bet from the off.

New York Red Bulls sold their best defender to Chelsea in January and will now welcome Toronto FC, and more in particular, Sebastian Giovinco who scored 22 goals in his first MLS season. I do like the look of BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals (EVS @ 365) but for the price of the golden boot winner, I think it could be an early MLS gift.

USA MLS – 6:30PM

Sebastian Giovinco (Toronto FC) Anytime (49-20, 888sport) – 1 point

Other scorers to take note of who are too good for this league.

David Villa (NYCFC) @ 8/5 @ 888 – Chicago are one of the youngest sides in the league this season and let captain and veteran centre back Jeff Larentowicz go to LA Galaxy. NYCFC could score twice and I think that is overpriced @ 17/10 @ William Hill.

Cyle Larin (Orlando City) @ 8/5 @ 888 – The number one overall pick in the MLS draft last year had a great rookie season scoring 17 goals in 27 games. RSL didn’t travel well last season and have already played this week, bowing out of the CONCACAF Champions League. Kaka also chipped in with 9 goals in 28 games and could hold value @ 21/10.

Last seasons champions Portland Timbers host my team Columbus Crew in a repeat of the final. Another one that we could see BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals (13/10 @ 365) with all three games last season seeing this market. Being drawn towards their own scoring sensation Kei Kamara who scored 22 goals in the regular season and has scored in his last two games against Portland. Like Giovinco, another possible gift @ 2/1 @ 365 for him to score again.

As I said I’m only on Giovinco and the other bets are guidelines. Nothing to certify these but I will admit I do know my MLS. Its only maybe competitive match fitness that could scupper these.

Nice write up Jordan … quite fancy Urruti to score for Dallas 6/4 … seems like since signing from Timbers he gets on well with fellow Argentinian Diaz – both those scored braces in pre-season and should link well with Castillo.
Shame no Drogba watch until he sorts his knee out …

    Lol 😌
    All apologies Jordan sir!
Was obviously wrong thread for one and I was out celebrating so I was a touch drunk when I came home.
I was looking for a quick basketball bet before bed
    “Al get my coat!” 😌

@recoba doesn’t bother me mate. Wouldn’t have seen it until the morning anyway haha

After seeing the line ups I’m a bit miffed as to why BTTS in the United game is odds against and drifting. Smalling back in the line up, but we have 2 clean sheets in our last 12 away games in all competitions. One was against Shrewsbury in the FA Cup who barely got the ball out of their half, and the other was our snatch and grab win at Anfield when De Geas goal was battered. The Baggies have conceded in 8 of their last 11 at home, and 4 of the last 5 h2hs at The Hawthorns have seen BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals.

    West Brom/Manchester United BTTS @ 11/10 @ William Hill – 1 point

For an interest (and a mad one at that) I’m throwing together all selections for today including MLS thoughts into a acca for 0.1 point (£1).

    West Brom/United BTTS
Athletic Bilbao Over 1.5 Team Goals
NYRB/Toronto FC BTTS & Over 2.5 Match Goals
    NYCFC Over 1.5 Team Goals
Orlando City Over 1.5 Team Goals
Portland Timbers/Columbus Crew BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals
Robbie Keane (LA Galaxy) Anytime – Sunday morning

    100.98/1 @ William Hill – BANKER 😉

Apologies. Take Robbie Keane out and it pays 100.98/1. Did put him in at the start but the Galaxy have looked sloppy in both their CONCACAF games. Maybe not as sloppy as DC but I wouldn’t like for all those to land then Keane not score. Not that it will probably happen anyway! With him in it pays 197.86/1

Jordan, when you post your points/profit totals, is that just for your football bets?

@jordan nice and easy on the Bilbao goals! Cheers!

@superjim if i’m not mistaken, he posts his totals per thread. So he has a total for football and one for “other sports”.

Great that Bilbao came in so early. I let Bayern run yesterday instead of covering. So close to being a great day – hopefully the MLS will get off to a winning start

Cheers gents. Goals being banged in left, right and center in the MLS openers. Good signs. Bit gutted I didn’t officially tip the NYCFC goals as I really fancied them. Can’t complain with the main bet and Giovinco coming in.

Cheers Mr F. Great league for goals but one piece of advice. Never back an outright winner! Should be a good one kicking off on Sky Sports now.
