MAR 3: SUPER SINGLE SHORTLIST

genericfootball

LAST Tuesday bookies were hammered for £50 million with bet365 alone admitting to lose of £9m on the night.

All the favourites in the Champions League and England won except for three teams – and one of them were Wigan. There was one draw on the night and it was a caranage for firms for the second time in two months.

Punters will be hoping for a repeat this Tuesday but there are fewer big favourites on the card although sides such as Middlesbrough, Watford, Sheffield Utd, MK Dons, Bradford and Swindon will be well backed.

Here’s my Super Single shortlist from a first glance at the coupon and without looking at team news. However, I did notice West Brom have doubts over strikers Saido Berahino and Brown Ideye and if one or both don’t start it’s the only thing that will stop me backing them at Aston Villa.

I didn’t want to pick any Scottish teams until I’d written Tuesday’s column for the Daily Record but I’ve now added Brechin at home to Dunfermline and Clyde at home to Annan. The SS in the Record is Brechin and it usually is a Scots team if there are games – haven’t finalised the site pick yet but it could be the Glebe Park men against out-of-sorts opponents who they beat away from home last Tuesday.

Newport have been crossed out after some valid comments from a fan of the Welsh club – and they were never going to be first choice anyway.

Let’s here you early thoughts for Tuesday and post any team or stats that could prove vital. All these picks are priced evens or above.

Super Single shortlist

Aston Villa v WEST BROM

Southampton v C PALACE not to lose

HULL v Sunderland

Bolton v READING

Bournemouth v WOLVES or WOLVES dnb

BRENTFORD v Huddersfield

Brighton v DERBY dnb

NORTHAMPTON v Portsmouth

BRECHIN v Dunfermline

CLYDE v Annan

What about Middlesbrough -1 or ht/ft both priced better than evens currently?

      DOUBLE chance double

      BOLTON v reading 4-9
      ELGIN V east fife 4-9
      pays just over evens

Ok it’s a double, just meets ss criteria price wise though

Looking through the fixtures last night I have to say the two that stood out were Wolves and Palace. Unbelievable odds really.

I mean would you back Bournemouth at 8/11 in their current form against a Wolves team who have scored 9 and conceded 0 in their last three? I wouldn’t, but at the same time Bournemouth know time is running out and a home defeat to Wolves tomorrow will put serious pressure on them. The game at Molineux was one where Wolves took a 1-0 lead and would have won had it not been for one of the worst performances of refereeing I’ve seen down there. Wolves ended up with nine men on the pitch and lost 2-1.

Palace destroyed West Ham the weekend and with Southampton on a wobble Palace look very good odds. Team news will be vital but Pardew will fancy his chances going back to St Mary’s and will get the troops fired up. He also has something to prove as his Newcastle team got hit for 4 earlier on in the season.

Looking for some help popped into bookies after work to put a footie bet on the machine and it said there wer a pile of games in the Netherlands playing at 5.30pm can’t remember the name of the league but on my bet slip all the teams begin with ‘Jong’ such as Jong Heracles v Jong nac Breda… Can’t find the games on my usual livescore web site… Any idea where I can find the scores please any 1…

  4. Ramey 2 years ago

Can watch live scores on bet365 del

  5. MiniDuffman 2 years ago

I like the look of Brechin at (6/5). Just beat Dunfemline 1-0 away from home and Dunfermline’s away record against the top 4 this season is Won 1 Lost 5.

  6. Dale 2 years ago

Cheers Ramey thanks mate…. Just realised that Jong means reserves by the look of it lol

What’s the thoughts on Bristol City

  8. Stephen Head 2 years ago

I think top scorer James Hanson is still out for Bradford.
Their is also the matter of their pitch, which has been in bad shape recently. Even though Crawley will be fighting for their relegation lives, Bradford should still have the class to win.

  9. Stephen Head 2 years ago

    DALE!
Go to flash scores.co.uk and scroll down the leagues on the left, highlight Netherland,s and every Dutch league will pop up mate, just go through all the leagues until you find them.
I think Jong Hercules and Jong Brada are in Division 3, Jong i think mean,s young and I am no dutchman.

Im going to have a small punt on CRAWLEY TOWN @ 5/1 to beat BRADFORD. BRADFORD may have one eye on the wend’s F.A.CUP tie and CRAWLEY have had a couple of decent results beating SWINDON and drawing with SHEFF UTD. BRADFORD have also lost their last 2.
So worth a small punt for me

Mr F I was going to post to you today saying I fancy Palace DC as the SS. Not obviously a great SS price but mine will be for them to score which I quoted @ 4/5 @ BV yesterday.

  14. Get it in the Air 2 years ago

Hartlepool 12/5- away to dag & red is a good chance for them to get some much needed points. Mixture of gut feeling and price is making me back this.

Port vale 6/4- won there last 3 fixtures and are playing an Oldham side who have lost there last 3. I backed preston to beat Oldham on Saturday and I’m willing to oppose them again.

Forest to beat charlton 7/5- forest are the championships form side since dougie freedmans appointment and are scoring plenty. Charlton have been doing okay recently but I can’t see them stopping forest here

  15. Shaun 2 years ago

Can you lot stop tipping us 😉 whenever you lot tip Palace to win or not to lose we get done! Tip against us I.e West Ham and we won! :p

  16. rookie26 2 years ago

Charlton, wolves and dag and red..

    Treble 33/1

Small stakes with wolves and charlton in good form is a very realistic outcome.

  17. Jordan 2 years ago

Sorry Shaun I’ve got a thing for Palace at the moment haha. Come on though for you to score @ 4/5!? I ripped Victors arm off with that yesterday. Best @ 31/40 now.

  18. Hank 2 years ago

Bolton consistently solid at home in league losing 1 in their last 11.

Reading consistently inconsistent in the league home and away and have won only 2 in their last 14 away.

Why are Reading in contention for SS?

    • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
      Mr Fixit 2 years ago

Hank, Reading are there because of their recent away record – beating the likes Derby and Ipswich. Again they won’t be the Super Single though.

  19. rookie26 2 years ago

Get in the air.. We seem to have opposites. I guess we shall see tomorrow! 😉

  20. llanwen 2 years ago

Newport at home!!!! Is this a joke? im a newport fan. Don’t bother. Like all home games there is a chance. But we are a bad team at the moment. Few shots on goal, strike force poor. We are punching above our weight.

In addition the pitch is heavy, it’s windy tomorrow and we don’t play well against teams lower down the leagues.

    You’ve been warned!!

      Mr Fixit 2 years ago

Ilanwen, it’s a shortlist as I say from a first glance at the coupon – I can assure you Newport will not be the Super Single. It’s good to hear your thoughts – that’s exactly what we need.

  21. mrkrabs 2 years ago

Wallsall are in contention of ss at 15/8 @ bet365 they arnt playing too badly ATM and face bottom of the table Yeovil and add 8/5 Wycombe who have the best away record in league two away at lower placed tranmere at 8/5 with bet365 and you have a couple of pearls on your hands

    Walsall
    Wycombe

    6.47/1 @ bet365

  22. Lawrence Waters 2 years ago

Barnsley Crawley and swindon all to win. 24/1 any thoughts.
Swindon need to beat Gillingham to keep up pressure fir automatic promotion.
Crawley face Bradford. Bradford will be looking to the fa cup at the weekend whilst Crawley need to win to distance themselves away from relegation.
Barnsley play coventry. Coventry in poor form and find themselves in relegation battle and Barnsley just finding abit of momentum to take them away from relegation.
Good odds I think but small stakes maybe a fiver maximum any thoughts

  23. mrkrabs 2 years ago

I’ve gone for a slightly ambitious but fairly sencical fourfold

    -middlesborough-

    -bristolcity-

    -wallsall-

    -Wycombe-

£11.95 returns £329 @bet365 what do you think people

  24. ARCHIE 2 years ago

any one fancy forest I have bet on them last 2 games ,them to win and btts, also done the 3-4 goals in game forest win . they came up trumps with both bets against bournmouth, won 3-4 goals again at weekend . doing the same two bets again tomorrow.

  25. double carpet 2 years ago

    Jordan
i think your PALACE to score bet is a cracker and am on heavily with boylesports @ 4/5. 8/11 now.

      Mr Fixit 2 years ago

double carpet, one thing to note is Murray and Jedinak are both banned after weekend reds.

      • Jordan 2 years ago

Jedinak has until 6PM tomorrow to appeal Mr F so may play. Can you believe 3 of their 6 strikers are out with hamstring injuries? It’ll be Gayle or Ameobi who are both goalscorers on their day. As long as Bolasie plays I won’t be phased.

  26. Get it in the Air 2 years ago

    Rookie26, it’ll be a draw now haha

  27. rookie26 2 years ago

I hope not! One of us needs to beat the bookies!

  28. Robman 2 years ago

Wher can I find palace to score on bet365?

    • Punting For Fun 2 years ago

Can’t see that yet on bet365 robman best u can get just now is palace 0.5 gls betvictor 4/5

    • aj 2 years ago

Robman – On bet365 the market is listed differently. You are looking for ‘Southampton – no clean sheet’. It should be listed on the match coupon under the goals tab.

    • Alan 2 years ago

On bet365 they have it down as clean sheet. Go to goals tab, then scroll down to clean sheet, then obviously back the opposition as ‘NO’ clean sheet.

  29. rookie26 2 years ago

And from a neutral point of view, Newport look good value at evens .. Have been lifted from top of the league away win at Burton, playing a bang average Mansfield team that hasn’t won away from home since before Xmas

  30. Jordan 2 years ago

DC some people might say why not take BTTS, but Saints have hit a bit of a drout recently and BTTS is essentially a double, so for the price of the Palace goal and the form they’re in I think it’s a more than reasonable single me for me. Robman PFF is correct. Palace to score, Palace over 0.5 a team goal, or Southampton clean sheet NO, all the same bet mate.

  31. Robman 2 years ago

    Thanks lads appreciate it

  32. rookie26 2 years ago

Palace to score is a big shout 8/11 coral

  33. Jordan 2 years ago

4/5 @ BV again rookie. It’s been fluctuating all day.

  34. Skippy 2 years ago

Middlesbrough over 2.5 team goals 7/4 think we will get back to scoring tomoz nite.

And gnna get on man city over 2.5 team goals at Hme to Leicester on Wednesday at 10/11 don’t think tht price will last

  35. Jhole 2 years ago

Going on form Wolves look great to win and the odds are fantastic. This will be my SS for Tuesday.

  36. rookie26 2 years ago

Palace scored in 9/11 games in 2015. Great spot from you Jordan

  37. darran 2 years ago

Bristol city or derby for me lads

  38. craigyboy 2 years ago

All I can think is maybe the bookies expect Southampton to get back to form here.
    -Southampton v Crystal Palace
    BTTS
    11/10
    Various
    3 pts

I’ll also be on for 2 pts each on the following:

West Brom (unbeaten in their last 5) to win at Villa (1 win in their last 5) 21/10,
    (Boylesports)

Wolves (4 wins in our last 5) to win at Bournemouth (0 wins in their last 5) 4/1,
    (Bet 365)

Crystal Palace (5 wins out of their last 5) to win at Southampton (0 wins in their last 5) 5/1.
    (Bet 365)

As long as West Brom win at Villa Park – guaranteed refund.

If one of the other two win you’d be looking at a minimum of a 2pt profit.

If two of the three or if they all produce the goods your looking at some serious profit.

Now all the teams are away I understand that but those prices are absolutely huge.

0.5 pts on the 90/1 treble as well.
    (Bet 365)

GL if any of you follow.

  39. PumaDrifter 2 years ago

Craigyboy, small stakes big win…this is how u beat bookies. Im on it.

  40. KIPPER 2 years ago

Really good odds on this one,

-Stains vs Hemel over 2.5 goals-

Previous Hemel away games consist of

    4-0
    1-1
    2-2
    1-6
    2-2
    2-2

    Get it at 1.85/1
