IT was a tough day as expected unless you were on goals at Bath or Johnb's 33-1 nap.
Northampton beat my Super Single by being held at Mansfield and my trebles were nowhere – and it was sod's law that Northern Ireland beat Slovenia later as I said I'd post it as a Super Single if Northampton won.
Three injury-time goals at Bath brought up a 9-2 over 2.5 goals treble for Greg and it must be the first time that's happened for anyone.
As everyone knows I'm not a big fan of international friendlies and there are a raft to look at including England v Holland, Germany v Italy and Scotland v Denmark.
I'll post a separate preview covering in the main the England and Scotland games with both possible winners. Daniel Sturridge is a confirmed starter for England and is 9-2 at bet365 and Ladbrokes to score first. James Milner will captain the side, Jamie Vardy and Theo Walcott will provide width and Fraser Forster be in goals after Jack Butland's broken ankle ruled him out the Euros.
The Dutch are rebuilding after failing to qualify and Danny Blind will field a young and inexperienced side including the likes of Ajax star kids Rich Bazoer and Jetro Willems while Luk de Jong will be up top in the absence of Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
Elsewhere France should beat Russia as long as they go with a strong side and Sweden, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic facing the Czech Republic, can beat a side made to look ordinary by Scotland last week.
There are Asian World Cup qualifiers and African Nations Cup qualifiers as well as Colombia v Ecuador in South America qualifying and in English League One Coventry entertain Colchester.
For a Top Treble I'm going with England and France, who have won seven of their last eight, and finishing with Uruguay in their late kick-off at home to Peru. Uruguay have won their home ties 3-0 against Colombia and Chile and with Luis Suarez back and among the goals against Brazil they should take care of lowly Peru.
Suarez to score is 10-11 with William Hill and that's one Super Single as I look to finish the month on a good note. The last time the sides met three years ago the Barcelona star netted twice in a 2-1 away win and he'll be looking to impress home fans after serving his biting ban.
The second is England to score 2+ and with a frontline of Sturridge, Walcott and Vardy they should carve open a Dutch defence that conceded three at home to France last week.
In other games I'd consider Italy not to lose in Germany, Republic of Ireland to beat Slovakia, Sweden to see off Czech Rep and Portugal to beat Belgium if Cristiano Ronaldo starts for the home side.
Like Wales without Gareth Bale, Portugal are rudderless minus Ronaldo who could be rested ahead of El Clasico this weekend. A combination of injuries and the Brussels terror attacks have left Belgium without the likes of Christian Benteke, Kevin de Bruyne, Eden Hazard, Vincent Kompany, Divock Origi, Jan Vertonghen, Yannick Ferreira Carrasco, Dries Mertens and Mousa Dembele and boss Marc Wilmots admits he's down to the bare bones.

Won’t lie. I’ve not done much digging here, but I can’t see how Ethiopia have earned so much respect from the bookmakers in three days after their 7-1 drubbing by Algeria on Friday. Other than home advantage, they would have had to have done the same amount of travelling as the Algerians. Ok, they might not be as dominant on the road, but they will still be capable of goals and to score twice @ 8/15 look a bargain imo. Over 2.5 @ 7/4 could be well worth a point with Algeria -1 @ 10/11 @ William Hill. May get better elsewhere.
I’m torn on what to double it up with as I’m trying to stay away from the friendlies, and I don’t think there will be as many ‘cricket scores’ as there were in Asia compared to the other day. Colchester to score is really tempting, as is Ecuador to score in Colombia at a price I’m quite surprised with. BTTS in Colombias’ game is also tempting, but money on NO suggests that other punters don’t think so. You’ll be surprised how often I see NO being taken and it comes in.
H2H suggests NO also, with Ecuador having last scored in Colombia in 2008, and BTTS last landing in this fixture in a friendly in 2007, but these group of players are much better than years before, Ecuador especially and their group position shows it. They did beat Argentina 2-0 in Argentina, so why can’t they score against Colombia who conceded twice to Bolivia last week in Bolivia? Altitude? Perhaps, but Ecuador have the talent to give the Colombians a game.
Small stakes only as they aren’t the most confident, but I like the chances.
