IT was a decent day but it could have been a spectacular one if Belgium had won and Falkirk hadn't lost.

Those results cost me a bundle of points but I was pleased with a 6-1 Scottish both to score treble.

Hibs' last-gasp winner at Falkirk done me for a 15-1 aways treble with Bolton and Stirling not to lose and beat the Falkirk draw no beat Super Single.

I was taking a chance on the Bairns at a big price so it was only the manner of defeat that was disappointing while later on Belgium's flop at home to Greece was much more surprising.

Luckily the 5pts fivefold that needed Belgium to win was done with acca insurance so the stake is returned.

Greg's best call was backing Stirling to win at 14-5 but it was a blank day for Desmond on a reduced card.

Sunday is focused on nine more World Cup qualifiers including Scotland v Slovenia, England v Lithuania and I've posted a separate preview of those games.

Other matches include Northern Ireland v Norway and I expect the Irish to edge it although Lars Lagerback's appointment as boss should lift the Norwegians.

Germany travel to Azerbaijan after six clean sheets in a row and they should notch another against the minnows. For a Super Single I'm taking Germany and England to win to nil.

There are two games in England – Scunthorpe v Bradford in League One and Doncaster v Plymouth in League Two.

Scunny v Bradford is a tight one in League Two and the home men have blown automatic promotion hopes with five defeats in six. Bradford are unbeaten in seven and both sides look destined for the play-offs. I don't think Bradford will lose but it could be a draw.

So for a Top Treble take Bradford not to lose and add Northern Ireland not to lose and Slovenia to score at Hampden. Scotland struggle to keep clean sheets and have conceded recently to sides such as Canada, Lithuania, Malta and even Gibraltar. Slovenia are not prolific but can take advantage of defensive woes.

That's my bets for the day although having looked at a few first games for first scorers I'm doing a fun 50p Lucky 15 (no points) on Robert Lewandowski (Poland), Christian Eriksen (Denmark), Thomas Muller (Germany) and Gareth McAuley (Nth Ireland). The fourfold pays about 2200-1 and there's as much chance of it winning as Scotland qualifying for Russia.

And if you're having your first bet with 888sport you'll get treble the odds.

I have never seen a worse game from the Dutch than the one tonight. Danny Blind absolutely lost it by starting a 17 year old boy in defence. 2 mistakes, 2 goals. He should have started with Hoedt who plays for Lazio every week instead of the boy who had 2 starts for Ajax in the Dutch league this season, insane choice. I think Blind is gone at the end of next week.

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

A case of Blind leading the blind. Fancy a swap for Strachan.

Just the one bet for me

    Azerbaijan vs Germany

Sami Khedira First Goalscorer EW @ 12/1 (Bet365).

He’s available elsewhere for around 5/1 and 6/1 for first goalscorer so the 12/1 on offer is a decent bet. It also gives you 4/1 a place whereas the likes of Ladbrokes are only offering 6/4 that he scores anytime.

    Good luck everyone

  4. chris guy 7 years ago

Sorry forgot to mention Khedira has scored 2 goals in Germany’s last 4 games against Northern Ireland and San Marino.

  5. chris guy 7 years ago

Guys, I’ve been doing a bit of thinking recently. All who know me will know that I mainly bet on first and anytime goalscorers but something has caught my eye recently and I’ve won a fair bit on a different bet that has become a favourite of mine. The bet is:

    PENALTY TO BE AWARDED

If you check the amount of games that have penalties these days it’s unreal. I’ve found these to be more common in the EPL, MLS and Australian football matches. William Hill are usually the best odds for this market with most games priced at 11/4. Some are 3/1 but for the purpose of the betting strategy we will go with the shortest price at 11/4. The beauty of this bet is that either team can take the penalty and it doesn’t have to be scored. Now I’d stick to these leagues and preferably the live games. If you do progressive betting I believe you could easily come out on top. I’ve worked it out whereby you’d have to have 8 consecutive losers to go bust. Now believe it or not that’s a lot harder than it sounds. If I were to say to you pick any 8 games How hard would it be to pick 8 games without a penalty being awarded. This bet can be done to whatever stakes you can afford. Here’s an example of my staking plan:

    £40 @ 11/4 returns £150 so £110
    £40 @ 11/4 returns £150 so £70
    £40 @ 11/4 returns £150 so £30
    £60 @ 11/4 returns £225 so £45
    £80 @ 11/4 returns £300 so £40
    £120 @ 11/4 returns £450 so £70
    £160 @ 11/4 returns £600 so £60
    £220 @ 11/4 returns £825 so £65

    Total = £760

Now for this you need the balls and £760 cash. If you can afford this then go for a lower stake ie, £4, £4, £4, £6, £8, £12, £16, £22. Total you will need is £76. You only bet one match at a time.

Guys like Danny having been doing well on penalties awarded in big games reently.

  6. obi wan cannoli 7 years ago

Dismal day for me yesterday, on the back of a good one. Here’s hoping my luck returns today.

    Wellington Phoenix v Newcastle Jets:
This match is one between two teams who retain a slight hope of gaining a top 6 position, unlikely as that is based on current form. The Wanderers are considerably way out in front of both teams, but mathmatically it is still possible. Nothing short of 3 points for either side will do however, so you can guarantee both will go for it. Defensively both sides have been poor, and Phoenix games in particular have featured lots of games, with every one of their last 7 games seeing 3 or more goals. A major issue for the Phoenix today will be the sheer number of absentees primarily due to international duties, with keeper Moss, Krishna, McGlinchey, Durante, Rufer, Smeltz and Doyle all out. So a host of reserve and youth players will feature here.

Jets have hardly been great themselves, with their defense in particular being really bad. Hoffman returns for them today, but they’ve lost Cowburn to international duty. If there weren’t so many absentees, I’d be all over goals, and the Phoenix in particular.

But a hungry Jets side, against a massively depleted Phoenix, and I do think we’ll see the likes of Nabbout and Hoole come to the fore and punish them at some point.

    Perth Glory v Sydney FC:
Melbourne Victory’s loss yesterday handed the Premier’s Plate to Sydney FC, prior to this match, who have little to play for. Perth however still have everything to do, as they are gunning for a top 4 position heading into the finals. For the hosts, defender Williams is on international duty, otherwise they more or less have a full squad. Perth’s biggest issue is their defense, but their attack is usually strong.

Sydney may well be in party mode to an extent, although their attack this season has been second to none. A major standout this season has been Danny Vukovic as keeper, who has saved countless goals. Vukovic is on international duty today, as is Grant.

The absence of Vukovic for Sydney, and Williams for Perth, leaves both defenses massively exposed, and I expect to see an open game with a load of goals.

    Tips:
    Andrew Nabbout (atgs) @ 2.62 (2PT)
    Newcastle Jets – score before 46min @ 1.83 (2PT)
    Glory – score before 48min @ 1.83 (2PT)
    Glory v Sydney – over 3 goals @ 1.68 (3PT)
    Glory v Sydney – over 4 goals @ 2.85 (1PT)
    Glory v Sydney – over 5 goals @ 5.75 (0.5PT)

I’m going to have a go on the Italian Serie B games coming up at 2PM

Over the past few weeks I’ve noticed a larger than normal proportion of games sees BTTS – many 1-1 draws to be exact. This is not a high-scoring league at all, but often sees 2 goals in a game.

    As an experiment, going to do the following;

    4-fold BTTS acca
    Latina v Pro Vercelli
    SPAL v Frosinone
    Carpi v Perugia
    Salernitana v Ascoli

    13.61
    £2.50 returns £34.61

    7-fold BTTS acca

    Latina v Pro Vercelli
    Virtus Entella v Cesena
    Selernitana v Ascoli
    Ternana v Avellino
    Vicenza v Brescia
    SPAL v Frosinone
    Carpi v Perugia

    £1 returns £90.93
    £1 x 2 (doing same acca twice)
IF the acca is doing well I will cash one acca out for profit if it gets to around £20 return+)

    7-fold Over 1.5 goals acca

    Carpi v Perugia
    Latina v Pro Vercelli
    SPAL v Frosinone
    Salernitana v Ascoli
    Ternana v Avellino
    Vicenza v Brescia
    Virtus Entella v Cesena

    £2.50 returns £25

Totally agree with your selections total Mr F!

    Total I’m on:

    Germany to win to nil

Think England and Germany will field strong teams and dominate the match. Don’t see either keeper having much to do. Slovenia I fancy to score and 1/2 is a cracking price. When you look at our record who we’ve conceded against, it’s grim reading so I fancy the chances of an away goal tonight. Good luck all!

Hi there mate I had a bet on the same match but have not been paid out (I did rt7) the game did disappear from bet365 inplay screen for me shortly after the second half started. I had a message from bet365 saying the bet was void as the fixture was listed incorrectly. Can you check your settled bets to confirm they paid out for you. If they have I’ll have to give em a ring and kick off I think. Cheers

    • dezzie79 7 years ago

@kirantotti365 I asked for further clarification because i wasn’t happy with the message they sent me. Apparently because they had listed the game as Kenya vs Congo and not Kenya vs democratic republic of Congo they voided all bets on the game.

    • kirantotti365 7 years ago

@dezzie79 they have return same amount that i had place on the match. As they have voided all bets of that game after half time.

Afternoon all, its your main man Max here with a NAP and NB as promised. I not got time for full write up as you can understand security as been ramped up here at the home of football.

We have a host of players missing and Smalling is injured and Cahill is suspended so we have a young centre half pairing but that doesn’t faze us as we do what we do best in qualifiers and that’s win. Having won 3-0 and 4-0 against todays opposition I expect a similar score today.

My NB is Lallana to score and win. No point backing anytime to score when you can get extra juice by backing us to win. It pays 7/4 Paddy Power. My NAP as proved popular with my followers and it is Defoe to score anytime at evens Coral.

The other home nations well I can see Ireland scoring o1.5g against a bang average Norway team at 19/10 Betstars. As the Scotland well they sunk to new depths conceding against Canada’s B team, Yes Canada :-) I am taking Slovenia to score at 6/11 Bwin.

Defoe to score 1/1 (NAP 20PTS)
    Lallana score/win 7/4 (NB 10PTS)
    Ireland to score O1.5g 19/10 (2PTS)

Scotland team looking good, Griffiths Tierney in thank feck. Asked ma wee boy what he thought tge score would be and I’d stick a bet on for him, 6-1 Griff 1st gl haha 50p on it at 250/1. I stuck a couple of quid on 3-1 at 20/1 too

  41. andrzejstarba 7 years ago

    No jovetic playing tonight.

Poland playing Lewandowski supported by grosicki Zieliński Andrzej Błaszczykowski. Quite attacking.

  42. ray_ez 7 years ago

3 quid from me tonight. Backing Snodgrass.

Snodgrass to score, over 2.5 goals, 10+ match corners and Brown & Ritchie to be carded @ 66/1 . RAB

Snodgrass from outside the penalty area
    @ 10/1  .Best bet

Appologies for negative bet but snodgrass to score and Scotland to win is only 5/1 so instead i’ve gone on.

Snodgrass to score and Slovenia to win @ 20/1. On the off chance that by some miracle we get beat ?

      Lost. Subbed with 15 left.

The Scotland defence is absolute nightmare and Slovenia can score a couple. Also fancy Valter Birsa to score.

Slovenia over 1.5 team goals 12/5
    Birsa anytime 9/2

    Both Bet365

There’s a good few games that tempt on tonight’s SA card and I’ve narrowed my shortlist down to one that oozes potential value…

RIVER PLATE VS. BELGRANO (22.30 KO):

Prices just look way too big here when the full picture is taken into consideration – I can see a decent River Plate outfit going for it against 2nd bottom Belgrano and it could well be an open game with a few goals chucked in for good measure.

5 of the last 6 H2H’s have seen a minimum of 3 goals and with RP netting 6 times in their last 2 outings, I just can’t see it being a dull game as the home side look to close the gap and use their game in hand to leapfrog from a Copa Sud America place to a Copa Libertadores spot.

    Three selections to consider:

    RIVER PLATE OVER 1.5 TGS…5/6
    ????

    OVER 2.5 MGS…11/10
    ???

    OVER 3.5 MGS…11/4
    ?

    Good luck!

    Poland (-1) @ 11/10
    Montenegro 0 v 1 Poland
    Scotland @ 11/8
    Scotland 0 v 0 Slovenia
    Double(s) @ 3.99/1

Double lost. Single on Scotland wins. The main thing is. We got what we deserved tonight. ?

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

Just back from the pub. Much better from Scotland and fully deserved win but Slovenia played like we did against Canada. They were awful.

Just the 1 FHG in Mexico but 2 in the second half bring in the money ?

Going by stats Scotland seem big at 7/5

Anybody watching?? Are they as dominant as the stats suggest?

    • dc john boy 7 years ago

      Hope u backed it nate?

    • nate pesh 7 years ago

      Nah I didn’t wasn’t confident enough

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

Sorry I didn’t reply. Was watching with a pint in both hands.
Scotland were dominant first half but lost their way a bit when Griffiths went off.
However, if there was going to be a winner only Scotland looked like getting it.

As much as it pains me to say it A Scotland are shite! In days gone by we would be hopeful of pulling a rabbit out of the hat, but I fear for us today, the quality just isn’t there.

    Slovenia to win – 10 points @ 23/10 ?

    ***LOST*** ???

  59. andrzejstarba 7 years ago

    Posted earlier

    Poland V Montenegro.

Jovetic is out as is a central defender and Montenegro have some other injured players.

Poland have a full house to chose from with only Krychowiak not playing .

I think Poland are good value to win. This will put 4 points between us and second place and Poland will be going for it.

Prices have dropped a bit but Poland still 1.80 for the win. I managed to get on few days back on 1.95.

    Good luck all today.

Also going for a double your money on the 5pm matches.

    Germany -1
    England -1
Czech republic over 2.5 team goals
    Pays evens

    2 WINNERS. Lovely jubbly.

Poland did what they do best. When Lewandowski scores we win.
