EVERY Saturday William Hill's Owen Scott and McBookie's Paul Petrie do battle in the junior football challenge and their back after a festive break.
The dynamic duo will be putting up trebles every weekend and Owen leads the way with winnings of £206.48 to Paul's £95.54. Last week Owen was unlucky with two out of three correct and will hope to go one better this weekend.
For those who don't know anything about junior football the level of the top clubs is equivalent or in some cases better than Scottish League 2 outfits and we can gauge that easier now with the champions of the three regions – North, East and West – qualifying to play in the William Hill Scottish Cup along with the Junior Cup winners.
The term “junior” has nothing to do with players' ages and it often confuses people outside Scotland. Some of the top clubs such as Auchinleck, Hurlford, Pollok, Bo'ness and Linlithgow pay bigger wages than most League 1 and League 2 teams and therefore attract players who could be plying their trade at a higher level.
McBookie list all games online and take bets on every junior match while William Hill only take bets in shops. Here is this weekend's tips from Paul and Owen.

Owen writes: It was two right for me last week at decent prices but I need a treble and hopefully it will be this weekend.

Scottish Junior Cup semi-finalists Beith and Pollok lock horns at Bellsdale and I'm on the Ayrshire men to win with home advantage. Beith are 7-5.

Add Beith's Garnock Valley rivals Kilbirnie at 6-5 at home to Glenafton. Both sides are looking to rediscover form of just over a month ago.

Complete the treble with Blantyre Vics at Yoker. There isn't much between the teams but I reckon Vics at 7-5 will edge it.

Paul writes: First up I am backing Arbroath Vics to beat Brechin Vics in the Angus derby at 8-15. The two teams drew 2-2 at the end of 2015 but Arbroath have made some changes to their management team and are finally hitting some form. There was a big gamble on them last week to beat Kinnoull and I am hopeful they will produce another three points.

In the West Region I am on Renfrew to beat Rossvale at 11-8. This is a massive game and will go a long way to deciding the destination of the title. Rossvale are the title favourites but there is nothing between the two teams so I am happy taking the chance on the away side at the bigger price.

Finally, I am going back to the East Region and backing Bo’ness to beat Hill of Beath at 8-13. They had a fantastic result over Bonnyrigg last week and although they are still outsiders for the championship they are back in the running. They will kick themselves if they drop points after that excellent result and I am confident they will raise their game to pick up the win.
