IT was one winning single and one losing one a Europa League night that threw up its usual surprises.
After a good comeback on the Super Single this week I was disappointed with Besiktas who took the lead but ended up losing at home to Bruges.
Over 2.5 goals came up in Sevilla-Villarreal to land the goals single while it was a case if one win, one draw and one loser on my attempt to land a darts treble.
On Friday there is a Lanarkshire derby in the Scottish Premiership with Motherwell entertaining Hamilton and in the English Championship there's another big gamer at the top as Wolves take on derby.
Hamilton have loved playing Well this season – smashing them 4-0 and 5-0. Those results came in the glory days of Alex Neil but successor Martin Canning has zero wins in 10 matches since replacing the man who left for Norwich.
So while anyone looking at the head to heads will lump on Accies at 7-5 with BetVictor McBookie caution must be advised.
Canning’s picked up just three draws since taking the reins and at the weekend was furious as his side blew a 2-0 lead at home to Ross County.
Well will be looking to avenge those heavy losses and their form has improved under Ian Baraclough.
They led at Aberdeen last week before gifting the Dons two goals after the break. I don’t expect a Friday night thriller and it could be a draw at 2-1 with Ladbrokes. Under 2.5 goals is likely at 4-5 with McBookie.
Scott McDonald has netted in his last two games since returning to Well and is my first-scorer pick at 13-2 with McBookie and BetVictor. To net at any time he is 9-4 (bet365).
The Championship crunch games keep coming. Wolves and Derby played on Tuesday with Wolves winning and Derby's wobbles continuing with a home defeat to Middlesbrough.
Steve McClaren's men are now winless in five and in danger of dropping out the race for automatic promotion. If there's a winner it could be Wolves but I wouldn't write off the visitors and again it could be draw with best bet being both to score at 13-15 with 888sport.
On the continent the highlights are Elche v Valencia, PSG v Lorient, Hamburg v Hertha Berlin and Braga v Academica. There were goals galore in the Jupiler games on Monday but not last Friday – but I won't have time to research them as I did last time out.
I've had a little time to look at Friday's card and for the Super Single I'm on Valencia at Elche. Valencia have won five out of six and are playing well without conceding too easily. It's more professional than dynamic from them and as a result they move dup to third ahead of Atletico Madrid who now have a Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid to engage their minds.
Elche are just two points above the drop zone after a heavy 3-0 defeat at Sevilla last week and went down 3-1 when they clashed in Valencia earlier in the season. Valencia look worth backing at 10-11 with BetVictor and William Hill.
For the goals single it's actually an over 2,5 goals double paying just over evens. We all know the chances of picking overs in the Dutch lower league are good and I put up stats last week. I've picked on-form duo NEC and Top Oss to win their away matches with more than two goals in the game.
NEC and also feature in the Top Treble. The runaway leaders are 21 points clear at the top and should win well at MVV. Add a similarly-priced Emmen at relegated RKC and take Utrecht to beat NAC Breda in the top flight for a Dutch treble.
NAC have won four of their previous five at home to Breda and in their last three homes games have thrashed AZ 6-2, drew 0-0 with Feyenoord and hammered Dordrecht 6-1. Breda lost 5-1 at home to Utrecht earlier in the season so this should come in – and also looks good for overs.
Friday's the day I have least time to do research and other teams I like include PSG but at a small price, Bristol Rovers to beat Aldershot in the Conference and Dijon at home to Valenciennes in French Ligue 2.

Jordan- I see you have covered all bases there Tactically Swansea stifled us by playing a diamond first half which meant there was no one closing down their player in the base. We did not press as high up the pitch as a result. Second half Rogers moved the players around and Swansea could not handle us. Only 4 teams have come away from Wales with maximum points so all things considered it was a superb result as anything else would have seen us struggle. Its high level football at the end of the day and yes we are the form team, however, it is one game that will have your players psyched up that’s for sure. If the Liverpool of the last 10 games turns up then I think you may struggle. United have 4 wins away from home and two of those came when you went on that run when the results did not really reflect the type of football you were playing if you catch my drift. Personally I hope both teams turn up and we have a great game to watch that is decided by genius rather than a mistake. One team may dominate and the other might simply take its chances and it’s game over. Also we have two keepers that are currently playing at the top of their game and they may have a huge part to play. Fianlly there is always the ref and in Mr Martin Atkinson we have a man that was labelled as “incompetent” at Stamford Bridge. If I am honest he was awful and got a number of decisions totally wrong that day. My main focus at the moment is how your manager will set you up to play as thus far he has focused on possession. Liverpool will hound United all over the pitch so I am not really certain how he will attempt to counter act that? Hit us on the break perhaps and go direct to your front players. What ever the result I do not think the result will determine the champions league places as there is still a lot of football to be played.

jazza, I agree 4-6 is a poor price but to say Hearts’ performance levels have dropped is crazy. Last three games – 10-0, 4-0 and 3-1.
jazza, it was 1-1 before Nade was sent off but that doesn’t mean we would not have won anyway against 11. Hearts have a massive fitness advantage over every other club due to the way Levein and Neilson have built this squad. We have scored 81 league goals this season and if you break it down into the times we have scored them you will see how we over run sides late on and like Gregs Newcastle bets the late goal is very profitable to back;

jazza, I was at Tynecastle last week and there was no drop. Dumbarton parked the bus and it took a while for the first goal. Naturally it will be tough to keep it up once it’s mathematically over but they also have records to aim at.
Correct Mr F as we will want to hit the 100 goals target. Given the money ploughed into the club by the supporters every game will be taken seriously even after winning the league and any youth players given a chance will be good enough to take it.

They have scored 22 goals between them in the last 6 games, conceding 11.
Although Grimsby are favourites (4/5), I fancy Eastleigh to score a couple at Blundell Park. They have only failed to score 2+ once in their last 5 games and this was against top team Barnet. They scored 2 at 2nd placed Bristol Rovers and beat 3rd placed Macclesfield 4-0 the week before.
The odds for over 1.5 Eastleigh goals is 11/4 – good value imo.

Wont spend big Jordan as our youth academy is thriving and that is where our future lies mate. We will bring through the players who have shown they want to be part of what is happening at Tynecastle and will also sell on any player if the price is right. We will buy anyone that Levein and Neilson see as being able to fit into what they are doing at the club but will never pay over the odds. Read this morning a figure of £300,000 being quoted to get Zeefuik permanently but if it is correct then he can leave as that is way too high.

Derby team news to follow @ 7pm, but a heads up about the last game. Martin and Thorne were expected to feature 2 games back and when there was a no show from them for that game, there was hope that they’d be available for the Middlesborough game. Sadly again, they were not.
Our goal threat up front has been woeful of late with both Martin and Bent out injured and our 3rd choice holding midfielder also out leaving a young 19 year old Jamie Hansen from the academy to make his debut 2 games back. This young lad is full of promise, he gets stuck in and his nickname is bruiser. Maybe he’s one for the future but right now our team is very much on the ropes.
I do feel that we are out of the title race but a win tonight is a tall order given our wretched run of form of late. I know we battered wolves at the ipro last year, but that game is long gone.
This 4-3-3 that McClaren has kept faith with all season worked well when we had our 2 key positions covered with quality, but now we’re struggling to contain attacks and the magnificent arsenal-esqe passing game that we’ve become so used to has all but disappeared.
Many teams in the top 6-7 have been dropping points this past 6 or 7 games and its wide open, with Middlesborough travelling to Bournmouth tomorrow is a game I couldn’t possibly precict how it will end. This is a time that Derby NEED a win, but on the other side of the coin, Wolves have picked up their game this 2nd half of the season and they’re hovering around the playoff spots. They will fancy a result against us, and for the first time in many games, Derby are the underdogs in the eyes of the bookies.
McClaren says theres no panic in the dressing room, yet I sense with 3 losses from our last 5 games, I think we should be worried. I know he’s cautious of bringing back Martin and Thorne too early and I think if I’m honest, he’ll aim to have them back in contention along with Eustace and Bent after the 2 week international break.

Alex just seen your own Lord Of The Rings length piece on the game haha, an interesting read but not sure it needed that much. I think you like many other fans who hate United forget that we’ve only lost 5 games in the league this year, and have only lost by 2 goals once (the shocker in Leicester) so I don’t think it’ll be a case of a comfortable win for either side. I think what will be a fact is a heated battle with plenty of yellows and perhaps even a red given the status of the game with what some would call a ‘6 pointer’. Agreed it won’t determine the Champions League places but it’ll play a big part towards it. Many of our results do not reflect the way we have played. We battered the Swansea goal in the second half at the Liberty and they scored on what was their first chance of the half. Van Gaal will look back to the team/squad we played when we beat you 3-0 and see how he can keep to the same as the formation in which we beat Spurs last week. Not one I could call either way, and that is not being biased, but we certainly have a 33% chance of winning ;)
Jordan- hate is a strong word mate. I can’t say that it felt great watching you win everything over the last 20 years or so but we still gave you a game during those years and came out with a few wins of our own. Certainly not forgotten how many games you’ve lost or how many you have won away from home either. It will be tight as both defences have been playing well. Not a game I would have much money on save for my fourfold that I posted for a fiver the other night.
