SO that's Cheltenham over for another year – anyone got cash to play with on the football this weekend?
If so be prepared to tackle a tough card … and I've said that a few times this season.
Having said that Friday wasn't great. My 2pts treble scored zero out of three and Greg's nap was a loser on a night where the main players were short of goals – and even Top Oss missed out.
Again I'm not putting up aways or draws today and focusing a bit more on shorter accumulators and goals bets. For anyone interested my aways in today's Daily Record are Chelsea, Newcastle, Cambridge and Forfar (24-1, Marathonbet) and I've taken draws at Burton, Cardiff, Mansfield and Newport (151-1, Marathonbet).
The five homes should be done with one of the many bookies who return the stake for one wrong.
I've posted separate Scottish and English previews where most of my picks are reasoned and look out for the tips from the usual contributors.
Remember to check out Welovebetting for their tips and video chat.
And if you're having your first bet with 888sport you'll get treble the odds.

Evening gents. Europa was tough last night so well done to any winners. One value punt in the Austrian league where Ried are on one of the worst runs in Europe with 13 losses in their last 15 league games, and host a second placed Altach side who have only failed to score once in their last 16. Ried are hit and miss for goals but Altach have conceded in all but one of their 12 away games. Should be goals here and BTTS pays 10/11 @ 365, with Marathon offering 6/5 for Over 2.5. Ngoumo Ngamaleu has scored in four of the five games since Altach’s winter break and is 6/4 to score @ William Hill. I however am on their goal time which is a reasonable 57:00 minutes.
Austrian Bundesliga – 5:30PM
Altach Goal Before 57:00 @ 5/6 @ 365 – 3.6 points
Also like the look of Burnley’s goal time at Sunderland. The Black Cats need results but Burnley have played admirably, and despite losing six of their last seven on the road, they’ve scored in all seven at Liverpool, Swansea, Hull, Watford, Arsenal, City and Tottenham.
Burnley Goal Before 60:00 @ 5/6 @ 365 – 3.6 points
@Jordan where exactly do you look for the goal before xx minutes on the bet365 site, I’ve looked but am having no joys
found it. goals tab/ time of 1st goal
Looking ahead to tomorrow and there’s one team that have impressed me more than any other in recent weeks.
Will try and put up some reasoning if time permits on Saturday but I’m jumping on this one early.
PORTSMOUTH OVER 1.5 TGS…EVENS
???
?
AFC FYLDE VS KIDDERMINSTER HARRIERS:
Fylde love a goal or 3 but cannot defend – there has been 3 or more goals in every game they have played in since 1924 (or something ?)
Previous H2H in October finished 3-3.
OVER 2.5 MGS…4/6
???
Had one too many last night and the library seems a world away. Possibly clouded judgment but I’ll join you there Hull now that Bet365 have added more markets. They go 19/20 on BTTS and O2.5 Match Goals. A price you’ll rarely see for a Fylde game and though Kiddy have a pretty poor away record of late, Fylde have just 4 clean sheets all season against poor opposition. Fylde are even priced at 4/5 to score 2+, which is again a once in a blue moon price. There’s value there you wouldn’t usually get, so despite already having a few punts on today, I’ll have a point on the BTTS and Overs.
AFC Fylde v Kidderminster BTTS and O2.5 Match Goals @ 19/20 (Bet365)
Good luck mate.
Yep, looks sound Leroy…good luck pal!
Marseille simply did not turn up against Lille and their blank downed the Friday bet that otherwise looked comfortable. I’ve said it enough already but March is proving to be a right pain in the backside for myself. Unfortunately, I don’t have the time for a proper write-up on tomorrow’s punts – I got the research done tonight so I can be in the library bright and early. Student life, ‘eh.

Mr f do you not think Leicester will struggle against the hammer? I can see an easy Hammers win here, maybe even a -1. Mainly because the players will be fatigued from their midweek game against Sevilla. Unlike.2 seasons ago when they made the ‘great escape’ they only had league games. I think West Ham will be well up for this as theylook to cement more wins in their new stadium. So my pick would be West ham @6/4
Tiredness would be the only issue but they’ve had time to recover.
I can see a draw but Leicester could win if they play as they’ve done since Ranieri left.
Remember West Ham have been poor at their new home.
As is the case with most Premier League games it could go either way so you put down your money and take your chance.
For me I think BTTS is a good bet here. West Ham are leaky, but have goals in them.
They’ve condeded a goal in their last 5 games.
BTTS @ 1.57
Agree – it’s probably the best bet.
I see a lot of people are tipping West Ham today but I’m judging Leicester on the past 3 games and not this season as a whole.
Bankies game off due to the rain.
Off to walk the dug then a pub lunch watching Scotland v Italy.
I see Scotland being tipped to win by 30 and hope that’s the case but they took a battering last week and need to prove they can recover from that.
Good luck today to everyone with all their bets.
I think Leicester are the bet of the day at 2/1 just beat seville in the champs league they will be in the mood.
Ha ha, 8mins gone and West Ham fans leaving already.
Didn’t think it would end any other way mr f,two legs of your treble in gl
Cheers, as I say could/can be covered.
Yeah, can see a 1-1 or 2-2 here.
In the rugby I can see that happening, Scots will want to bounce back and for the most part have been excellent this 6-Nations. As long as Italy don’t adopt that dodgy tactic again.
Good luck to you Mr F, I like the look of your goal scorer and will be on the 8-1 Homes.
Good luck to everyone else on a bet today as well.
Spot on with the rugby but a strange game really. Didn’t think Scotland played well but won 29-0.
Didn’t see it as was out but done the business.
Nice to see BTTS come in before HT.
just logged back in and see extra funds in my account lolz 4 goals in last 10 mins, i have often got 2 in last 10 but never 4. well done and thanks for another winning tip hull.

Melbourne City v Newcastle Jets (A-League)
Round 23 of the A-League resumes today, with City hosting the Jets. With only a few rounds of the regular season left, City have secured their place in the finals, but will be keen to retain their hold on third position on the ladder. Muscat returns from suspension, but they have lost livewire Brandan for the rest of the season due to injury.
The Jets are still desperate for a finals place, and are only adrift by 3 points. Their form has been terrible though, and are without a win in their last 5 games. Hoffman is out through suspension, but keeper Duncan returns.
Comfortable home win on the cards.
Colo Colo v Huachipato (Chile Clausura)
Chilean giants Colo Colo host Huachipato today, in what is expected to be a dominant home win for the big club. Colo Colo have been in imperious form, with 5 solid wins in the opening 6 games. Colo Colo do have a number of absentees in their squad still, but it hasn’t stopped them dominating each game so far.
Huachipato by contrast have been pretty terrible thus far. A number of absences in their small squad hasn’t helped, and they’ve lost 4 of their last 5 games, including all 3 away games so far.
Tips:
Melbourne City -1 asian handicap @ 2.0 (3PT)
Melbourne City – score both halves @ 2.0 (2PT)
Colo Colo v Huachipato – Half with most goals – 2nd half @ 1.95 (2PT)
Colo Colo – 1 asian handicap @ 1.72 (3PT)

Notts Forest v Derby preview:
After yet another deja vue match last week for the Rams, the owner decided to cut his losses and dispense with Steve McClaren’s services. After seemingly turning us around on a sixpence from his arrival, we had a great run that took us all the way up to Christmas. However the boat was actually creaking around November. The flow of the matchplay just wasn’t there. I call it ” stuck in the mud ” football because for the last month of 2016, even though we had the majority of results go our way, our football quality was crap. It was like watching a bunch of headless chickens ping the ball off one another in the middle 1/3rd and IF we were lucky, one side might get a goal. It was the kind of football that you expect to get midweek on a frosty night away from home against a tough side – only this has been every game against everyone home and away for 4 months now.
Derby’s September to December win rate over 4 seasons is about 65%, our win rate January to May over the same seasons is just 35% !!!
Gary Rowett is currently occupying the ” short stay ” managers parking spot and is expected to stay in the job until the end of the season.
To be fair to McClaren, mistakes were made at the club long before he started his 2nd stint; we sold our most consistent midfielder Hendrick and sent Chris Martin on a season long loan with NO recall clause. Fulham don’t really want him, he’s probably going to be back at Pride Park to commence contract negotiations, but we have had issues right the way through the squad. We’ve had Thorne out injured all season – his absence has NEVER been filled by whoever has slotted in there but we have that position of holding midfielder because our central defence pairing isn’t up to it. Our team was set up for a pair of wingbacks to support the attacking front 3. With Forsyth taking a very early injury at the start of the season, we’ve been also wearing out left-backs almost weekly. At one stage we had our 4th choice filling that role. It’s not been that much better on the other side with Christie out injured for much of the season. Since around xmas, Christie and our 2nd choice left back Olsson have got back in to the side BUT they’re not up to the job.
With the rest of the team misfiring, our attack has been well down on the goals, and the midfield are barely pitching in to add to the tally.
Heads are well and truly down and I think everybody at Pride park cannot wait for the end of the season. Mathematically, we could still make the 6th spot but it is less likely to happen than Leicester winning the premiership this season !!
We now face our 2nd most important match of the season ( for the fans ). An away trip down the A52 to Forest. With just 1 win in 12, the Rams are toothless. Our season is gone and all we have left is pride. This season, we have not done the league double on anyone. All the players who need to put in a good performance, have either not contributed or have been left out of the starting 11, either way, we have had 4 losses, 2 draws and 1 win in our last 7….. exactly the same as Forests last 7 matches.
I’m looking for value in this match, something to point everyone at and I am clueless at how this match could end up.
Last weekend away to Brighton I called a complete full house on every tip in the match, the result, the 2-3 goals, the race to 3, 5 and 7 corners and the Brighton -1 corners handicap, they all came in.
I think Forest will be up for this match, more so than the Rams, but I’d rather put a shotgun in my mouth than bet against my own team against Forest.
The only thing I am moderately confident of betting on is Forest will boss the corners in this game. I don’t see a price up yet on bet365 – that should materialise around 10 mins before the 1pm kickoff, but you should be quite safe taking around a 5/6 for Notts Forest -1 corners handicap with bet365.
With local Derby’s, the match can be a hard fought pitch battle resulting in stalemate, or it can be a one sided affair. IF Derby do not show up with some fire in their bellies for this one, the Pride Park faithful will not forgive the team until we see a large fire sale come summer. I have matches if they need a spark.
Best of luck guys, i’ll be around about midday with team news.
Derby team news:
4 changes: 4-2-3-1 but some think it’s more a 4-4-1-1, I won’t be able to tell until a ball is kicked.
Carson
Baird/Pearce/Keogh/Olsson
Johnson/Bryson
Russell/Vydra/Ince
Nugent
Both teams have new managers, and Gary Rowett at Derby is a 2 year contract. He’s a former Derby player, did well at Burton, did very well at Birmingham on a shoestring budget ( shown the door by new management ) and the team are playing for their futures.
Bryson back in for his energy level, Johnson for his physicality. Nugent up front and Bent not involved. Hughes still on the bench.
Ince is still our highest scorer on 13? And Bent on 11 ( left at home to wash the dishes ) then the rest of the squad hardly figure with 2’s and 3’s. Hardly inspiring.
Forest look like they’re going 4-3-3 and even with 9 goals, Brit Notscoringanylongga seems to be out of his honeymoon period.
I still think Forest will boss the corners in this game, price for Forest -1 h/c on corners is not up yet, but it should be come 12:50pm or so. I’d expect 5/6 price or there abouts.
Best of luck folks
There’s no market covered for the Forest -1 corners handicap. Damn.
Maybe I should just crack open a beer and enjoy the game.
Just back in – OK start for Rowett.

Important match for both sides in the A league tomorrow. Cagey then you might think. Well i dont think so.
Newcastle Jets can go into the top six with a 3 goal win and are likely to go for it.
Melbourne need to try to hold onto third to get into the ACL next year.
Both Teams To Score and Over 2.5 Goals in match @ 4/5 looks like my bet of the day for tomorrow then.
Reff is a card nut by the way.
A penalty awarded and a player sent off @ 9/1 for a small stake.
50 or more booking points is 4/5.
Lets face it if theres going to be 50 at 4/5 another card at 6/4 is surely worth the gamble. ?
60 or more @6/4 it is.
Ill be checking at half time for stats n’d hunches as second half bookings are a worthwhile gamble?
Red card and a pen in the Aberdeen v Hearts game pays 12/1. double it with the same in the West Brom v Arsenal game 194/1 skybet. 2 singles and a double for me.
Am also on 50 or more booking points in the Aberdeen game 1/1 sky.
Hartlepool at 5/2 are surely a bit of value today. Desperate for points its been their home form that has kept their head above the water winning 3 and drawing 2 in their last 5.
After last night’s winner, back to the polish ekstraklasa.
Step up Jagiellonia Białystok. A fantastic team that can’t stop scoring goals. 68% of matches have seen over 2.5 goals with there last 8 away going overs. They are first in the league and play great attacking football. They play Pogoń Szczecin who are not shy in front of goal but rarely keep a clean sheet with 75% of their home games seeing btts.
I would be expecting odds of around 1.72 for overs but over 2.5 Asian goal line is 2.02. that’s over evens and a price that the bookies have wrong. Jagiellonia Białystok can cover those goals themselves but i see Pogoń Szczecin chipping in with an entertaining match.
Over 2.5 Asian goal line , 2.02.

Saturdays usually see a decent card in The Americas and tonight’s is no different – here’s an early pick and a few others well worth a look so will post later if I think they may be worth a punt…
Two games in Chile and whilst the first may be better ignored between Santiago and Antogofasta, the second could well prove a good choice and Obi has already mentioned it earlier today.
COLO-COLO VS. HUACHIPATO (21.30 KO):
Top side Colo haven’t let me down for goals so far this campaign and, without tempting fate, I can’t see them having too many problems dispatching a Huachipato side who are in poor form.
Colo have scored 3-4-2-2-2-2 team goals in their 6 opening games and will look to unleash their offensive prowess on the visitors who themselves have conceded 2-1-1-3-3-2 in their own 6 games thus far.
In the last decade, these two have undertaken 23 H2Hs with Colo scoring at least a brace or more in 16 of those games.
For those that are into such things, the Colo clean sheet looks great value at 13/8 and it’s something they have done in 4 of their 6 domestic games so far.
Team goals are the way to go but the value is abysmal – 2/5 for Over 1.5 Colo goals…no thanks – over to the h/caps instead which represent better valued options.
COLO -1 H/CAP…11/10

Ferreira v Benfica
Benfica to score in both halfs 11/10⭐️
With Porto game on the horizon Benfica can’t avoid any slip ups, also the return of Jonas was a big factor in my decision,Ferreira haven’t lost in four games but scoring goals is a concern, can’t see them troubling Benfica and Ferreira also have several injuries

Angers to Score, > 1.5 MGS Bordeaux, AC Milan Evens
Cover there AC Milan < 1.5 MGS 5/1 :)
Aside from Colo Colo’s game in Chile, another of the standout games is the Paraguayan match kickicking off at 21.00…
OLIMPIA ASUNCION VS. RUBIO NU:
Olimpia have a great record against Rubio Nu and scored 11 team goals past them in 2016’s 4 H2H’s alone…throwin the previous 2 and that’s 16 team goals in 6 games – not too shabby.
Neither team have set the world alight so far but Olimpia are easily the better outfit and I see them securing 3 points again later on with Rubio grabbing a consolation as they have in 5 of the last 6 times these two have met:
Two selections to consider:
OLIMPIA OVER 2.5 TGS…13/8
???
OLIMPIA WIN & BTTS…2/1

DUNDEE VS CELTIC TIPS
So my mate bumped into Mikael Lustig yesterday and asked him for his autograph. He told him that I always back him to score first and anytime. His response was “well he won’t be too happy with me these days” obviously referring to his lack of goals. He laughed and said he’d try his best to score against Dundee. Let’s hope he doesn’t let me down lol.
