Huggy – just goes to show we really need to get our bets on ASAP as soon as the spreads are released. Just checked and Mavs were -3.5 when odds were released, which would have been a winner. Problem is all the Pro gamblers out there already know who they are taking before the spread is released and lump on immediately so by the time we decide its already moved a couple of points.

Tuesday Tennis:
I’ve already posted Pliskova @ 9/4 to beat Halep and I’m happy with that. I will add to the mix Dolgopolov, who seems to have hit some decent form and excelled when he met today’s opponent here last year. If he’s playing well I think this is actually a pretty good matchup for Dolgo on what is a fairly high bouncing surface, as he should dominate behind his own serve and his extra athleticism, movement and defensive skills should give him an edge over Raonic when it comes to returning serve and once they get into rallies. Obviously Raonic’s serve is a different level to Dolgopolov’s, but Dolgopolov’s returning is a different level to Raonic’s. Dloglo won 90% of points when he made his first serve in their only ever meeting, and given his success last year must be confident coming into this one. (I’ve backed Milos outright at a big price so mixed emotions here!)
I’m also adding Bencic to take down JJ. Based on what I saw yesterday this looks like a good matchup for Bencic. If she plays like that again she will have no problem staying with Jelena in rallies and picking her off when the chance comes.

Last night I had 10 pts on Huggy/Jordan’s super single, 10 pts on yours and 10 pts on my own (took the Cavs at -3.5). 2 of them lost so for me it was one for the bookies :)
I had a few points on a trebble that landed (but I didn’t post it), but that just allowed me to have no loss.
Yes, I can access Cash Out now for most major sports like Soccer, NBA, Aussie Rules & NRL but only for the straight win or moneyline bets. I just called them up to confirm and it’s not yet available for Tennis (argh!).
They say they are working on rolling it out across more sports soon so I’ll just risk your tips and hope at least 2 of them take it all the way :-D

My initial thoughts for my Super Single tonight is Detroit Pistons ATS at home to Grizzlies.
They are currently +4.0 but all the money is on the Grizzlies so i’m going to wait to see where the spread is before tip off. I’m hoping I get another 2 points.
For my 2nd choice, i’m on the same boat as Huggybear and liking Clippers -9.5.
I’ll post my final bet/s and thoughts an hour or so before the 1st game starts.

Watson is an interesting one. My gut tells me this is a bridge too far for her. A bad matchup against a player in great form and Watson is coming right after one of the biggest wins of her career, which players often find hard to follow up. But, as you say, she was superb in her last match, which was an even worse matchup on paper, and because CSN has no weapon she can dominate Watson with she will be competitive if she gets close to her level from the last round. I think i’ll leave it alone but I’m going to keep an eye on it in-play and see how it’s shaping up.
Lisicki i have no interest in backing as she’s just terrible half the time! Unreliable to the extreme and whereas she could exploit a missmatch against Vinci and Lisicki with her extra firepower, she can’t do the same against Garcia who packs a punch herself. I don’t have faith she will be able to produce the goods under pressure consistently enough to win this one. Again though, one for in-play for me.
Bencic i’m obviously well behind so rooting for you there!

Ad, completely agree with some of the points you have made RE Sabine and Heather! I just feel like 9/4 is too good a price for her for me not to have a dabble. Now I know she didn’t beat any real big names but she grew in confidence in every single game @ Hobart earlier in the year and I’m hoping the confidence from beating Radwanska will allow her to really go for her shots and try and be more dominant from the baseline.
In terms of Sabine I agree, it is a game which could go either way but if she can replicate what she did in the last round I think she will prove too much. Caroline was pushed hard by Hercog and went 3 sets against Ana so I’m hoping if Sabine can come out firing she can build up a head of steam throughout the game.
Good luck with your tips today also… I really do think the Dog matches up really well with Milos with his fantastic return of serve and I fancy him to at least take a set off Milos. I’m also a big fan of Pliskova… watched the second set of her recent match against Halep and it was absolutely ridiculous with about 8 breaks on serve…. could be one to have a look out for on the inPlay!

Nadal is a legend and will win this, I’m sure, but, it is so naive to look past these odds and not take it.
Young will come out all-firing and incredibly motivated to put in a great showing against the great Nadal, especially in front of a home crowd. And given Nadal’s current lack of confidence, this is only going to work against him.
I acknowledge he won the title at Buenos Aires, but this is a hard court and only Rafa know’s his state of fitness, and IMO it is still questionable.

Dolgopolov is the equivalent to the the women on the WTA tour (barring Serena and Navarro, of course) in terms of consistency, but when he is on his game he is just sheer class, and can quite easily beat the likes of Raonic and other such ‘servebots’.
A safer way to go on this one though would be Dolgo to win the first set @ 6/4.

Not a tip as such but I really think this is the closest to call out of the last 8 ties of the Cricket World Cup. Sri Lanka are vastly experienced in big games and SA have a habit of bottling it when it really matters. That is my sole reasoning for this bet that is being backed with spare change.

Detroit have not been very good since Brandon Jennings was ruled out for the season, but I like them to cover against a tired and banged up Grizzlies side that really havn’t performed that well on the road of late.
The Pistons do generally have no trouble scoring at home, so I think they can ride with the Grizzlies in this game. Grizzlies should win, but I think the Pistons even have a shot at outright win today.

What a ludicrous set of results on from Indian Wells last night!
Sorry for a disappointing set of results on the attempted upsets.
The only joy I had was that in play over 19.5 games @ 2/1 i posted for the Sharapova Pennetta game. I also managed to get a couple of quid on Pennetta to win when she was 25/1 but that’s not much use to anyone else on here!

My two ante-post tips for ATP Indian wells are both alive and kicking, for now at least, with Nishikori and Raonic. But I’m going to have to have a wee bet on Mr Federer now as well. He is as short as 5/2 with some firms so the 5/1 on offer looks a good value bet. Djokovic aside he is the outstanding candidate for the title and in the opposite half of the draw.

My preliminary 10 point Super Single on the NBA for today (Wednesday) is the GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS -6.0 @ $1.92. I’ll do more of a write up in my morning.
I have a feeling all the money will be on the Hawks as the line when released in the states was -8.0 so i’m crossing my fingers that we’ll get another 1-2 points by the time I wake up, i’ll be very confident about it landing if I can get on say -4.0.

Bookies expecting a tight defensive game in Utah tonight with two top 10 defenses in the Jazz and Wizards. Utah hit 15 3 pointers in their blowout over the Hornets the other night, with Washington also ranking in the top 10 teams from downtown. Last three h2h in Utah have gone over this total but I don’t take much into that. The h2h in Washington only hit 177 in December but the Jazz were still finding their feet. I think this hits around the 195 mark.
