IT was a good night for goals with myself and Greg Browning winning with our only tips.
My Super Single was over 3.5 goals at Monaco v Man City while Greg's nap was over 2.5 goals at St Mirren v Dundee United. The double on the app also won at evens and overnight Jordan's btts tip at Dallas landed.
That gives us something to play with for Thursday's Europa League second legs. Again goals could be the way to go and remember every team bar APOEL Nicosia scored last week.
Man United drew 1-1 on a poor pitch in Rostov and should get the job done at Old Trafford. Jose Mourinho can call on Zlatan Ibrahimovic who is 23-10 at 888sport to break the deadlock. Rostov looked second best in Russia and are without Timofei Kalachev, Vladimir Granat and Aleksandru Gatcan.
I'm tempted by Zlatan first scorer and while United should win they are no bigger than 1-4. Even United -1 is just 7-10 so finding value is tough.
Best games for goals look to be Borussia Monchengladbach v Schalke and Roma v Lyon. The Germans drew 1-1 in the first leg and Gladbach have netted exactly three in their last three homes games against Schalke.
Lyon beat their Italian rivals 4-2 and have been on fire recently – scoring 29 in seven while Roma have conceded eight in four.
Ajax v Copenhagen could also see goals. It was 2-1 to the Danes at home so this one is finely balanced.
Elsewhere Besiktas should beat Olympiakos after looking by far the better side in last week's 1-1 draw and Anderlecht can finish the job after a 1-0 win at APOEL.
Genk v Gent went against all stats and the home side should add to their 5-2 lead but again there should be goals while Krasnodar will give it their best shot after losing 2-1 at Celta Vigo.
I'm putting up a Super Single and a goals treble from the later games but no WDWs.
Some Man United players will be leggy after facing Chelsea on Monday but not Zlatan Ibrahimovic who was banned. I'm happy to risk 1pt on him scoring first.

Tough Europa League Thursday again but I’m going for a team that is used to playing their opponent and need a big effort after a bad loss at home in the 1st leg. The all Belgian affair see’s Gent attempting to overcome Genk on the road after their 5-2 loss last week. Gent’s last loss away from home was on this ground, but they’ll take confidence in their 3-0 on the weekend and know what they have to do. Expect them to come out the blocks faster, much like Genk did last week and were 4-1 up at the half. Worth noting Gent missed a penalty and will also be missing Esiti through suspension. Kalifa Coulibaly leads Gent in the Europa League for goals and scored in the reverse leg but is on a bit of a drought and was rested in their win on the weekend. The Nigerian 19 year old Samuel Kalu was signed from Trencin in January, has scored in three of his last four, scored in the reverse leg and is excellent value to net again.

This all German affair ended 1-1 in the first leg and with all to play for here I expect to see an open game! The hosts have seen over 2.5 goal in 7 of their last 8 games against Schalke! Can see both scoring and that should lead us to goals

Gent, Ajax and Roma all have to go for it and I expect them to come flying out of the blocks.
Gent have 2 goals in them, they’ve scored 2+ goals in their last 5 games and for them to stand any chance they have to score high given the 2-5 first leg deficit.
Ajax and Copenhagen both have goals in the locker and this will be a close game, can see it ending 2-1 again, to either team.
Roma’s form hasn’t been good of late, but they come into this second leg on the back of a 3-0 win at Palermo, and know they will have to be on form from the first whistle against a strong Lyon side playing at the top of their game. They certainly have the capabilities to score 2 goals but do expect Lyon to at least nick 1 here… they’ve been scoring for fun this season.
Regarding, Borussia M’Gladbach, I expect them to do the business and find the net twice tonight. They managed a 4-2 home victory over Schalke in the Bundesliga earlier this month.

We scraped through with an underwhelming win tonight. Still a wins a win and we’re through to the next round.
Glad I avoided the game for bets though, the lads are a bit unpredictable when it comes to goals… too much reliance on Ibra (hit post tonight tbf) and not enough other attacking options.. Pogba couldn’t hit a barn door.
To be fair they didn’t need to do much and have had a lot of games.
Decent last-eight line-up but no one United should fear.
Besiktas would be a tough trip and maybe they’d like to miss Lyon and Schalke.
That’s true, and don’t get me wrong I’m happy we’ve gone through. Just think it’s a risky game not trying to kill the game off properly, I’d have had Rashford on for last 20 mins. You can see the Rostov free kick last minute, cracking free kick and an equally good save from Romero, but that could have sent the tie into ET which no one wanted.
Yeah, Besiktas away would be pretty sketchy for sure. I think Lyon are the team I’d want to avoid the most though.
