Mar 16: Mr Fixit’s Top Tips

MRF_TopTips

AFTER a good day one for punters at Cheltenham I was determined not to give much back to bookies.

In the end it was a minute loss after a 6-4 Super Single winner but a Top Treble loss and BTTS defeat. My Cheltenham Top Tip won at evens thanks to Vroum Vroum Mag so I may now retire from the racing.

Hull (again) and Peterhead beat the treble while there weren’t many goals in the main games although non-league was better and Greg was unlucky with his over 2.5 goals treble that came up one goal short.

The two Champions League games were a non-event and let’s hope for better tonight. Like Man City tournament favourites Barcelona lead by two goals from the first leg away to Arsenal so don’t a result.

Unlike City they have true world-class superstars and will want to put on a show. They should see off the Gunners again but are no bigger than 1-4 with the likes of bet365. I’ll have another think about this in the morning to see if I can find a value bet.

Bayern Munich and Juventus fought out a 2-2 cracker in Turin so let’s hope for more of the same. Bayern though should be too strong and are 1-2 at Coral.

In Scotland Hibs travel to Inverness for a Scottish Cup semi-final replay and League Cup winners Ross County head for St Johnstone in the Premiership and I’ve posted a separate preview. The only game in England is Accrington v Wycombe in League Two.

I’ve had a look at a few things this morning and decided to go away from the main leagues and back Copenhagen to score 2+ at home to Randers for the Super Single.

They have won nine of their last 10 at home and Randers have netted just once in five visits to the capital club – losing 3-0 and 4-0 on their most recent visits.

My only other bet is a Daily Double with reasoning on the Scottish Preview post. In the Champions League I expect Barcelona to beat Arsenal by at least one but of course they don’t need to bust a gut.

Juve are reportedly going to park the bus as PSV did at Atletico so while I expect Bayern to go through it could be another close contest.

Remember to check We Love Betting for their latest tips and video chat.

oozie, I should have covered. If you ever back a side and they’re leading 3-0 at HT – look at the cover options.

I usually do look at the cover options Mr F, depending on how much I’ve bet.
At least it came in, another 5 minutes and it would have been 3-3. lol
Big Denny went off with what looked like a hamstring problem near the end, just in case you were thinking of tipping him to score against Alloa this Saturday.

oozie, cheers for Johnstone info – I’ll check team news on Friday.
I usually cover too but the way Queens have been playing away I didn’t think it was required.

    ACCRINGTON STANLEY VS. WYCOMBE WANDERERS:

Could be an interesting one this, Accy having a decent season and Wycombe pushing for play-off contention.

Both teams have hit the skids recently with Accy winning only 1 in 5 and Wycombe not winning away (or scoring) in 3.

Accy still have Josh Windass and others out whilst keeper Lynch is again missing for Wycombe

Bizarrely, Wycome have seen 1-0 scorelines (both for and against) in 9 of their last 15 games.

Their last 6 have ALL been 1-0 scorelines to the home team involved!

Accy have scored: 2-1-2-3-1-4-1-3 home team goals in their last 8 at the SF Stadium

Whilst the home team have been great to follow on the overs market this one could be tighter.

    Over 1.5 Accrington team goals…5/4 (2 points)

    Correct score 1-0…11-2 (0.5 points)

    Good luck.

Not a nice card today/tonight and I’m venturing into the abyss, but on a team that isn’t shy of seeing goals in their league. Zenit II are back from their winter break and were handed a 3-2 defeat at home. 21 of their 25 games (11 of 12 away) have seen Over 2.5 Match Goals. This is quite tough to judge as going by stats only you’d think Zenit can score, having done so in 13 of their last 15 on the road, but Yenisey have only conceded once in their last 7 on home soil. As much as I like Over 2.5 Match Goals, I think the home side can score twice having done so in the reverse fixture.

Only available bookies pre match are Stan James or Marathon, and there’s quite a difference in price between the two for this market. I imagine the game will come in play take a look and if you like it then join the party.

    Russian Division 1 – 12:00PM

    Yenisey Over 1.5 Team Goals @ 4/5 @ Stan James – 2.5 points (4/6 @ Marathon Bet)

Jordan why did athletico struggle so badly to score last night?
Surely the second best team in spain should be despatching dutch teams?
Something ive observed this season is top teams struggling to actually win games as opposed to drawing frequently. (See man city or arsenal v norwich)
Ive been following football for years and this season has been plain weird. Premier league is a good example of this. Anyone can get a result on the day apart from Villa.
I remember in the early 00s United, Liverpool and Arsenal would pretty much win every week.
Any idea why football has gone this way?

Noticed it too dom77, and its across all leagues, and mostly in international matches, take the world cup, no team was heavily beaten, apart from Brazil, we had Argentina struggling to break down Iran, Germany surviving against Algeria and Ghana…there is a change happening in football slowly,
have a feeling this Euro will be a clear example of this, some unfancied team will win it, probably Iceland

      • Profile photo of Jordan
        Jordan 9 months ago

Spain were hammered by Holland in the groups if I’m not mistaken.

Not being funny though. Its a silly question. Its a Champions League playoff game. They qualified. They don’t care who has a bet on them to win.

You use Norwich/City as a reference. Norwich struggling for dear life at the bottom of the league, City dropping points against plenty of teams. You just have to look at the table to understand its more competitive this season.

        THIS IS FOOTBALL.

        • Profile photo of dom77
          dom77 9 months ago

Jordan I bet on them to qualify.
It’s not a silly question really. I was just curious as to why this season is so different to previous seasons in the premier league. I thought you may have some insight.

          • Profile photo of Jordan

What makes you think I have an answer for a team not scoring in normal time mate? Its football. Its always competitive. Its not as easy winning bets in football as most think. Damn sight harder than American sports that’s for sure.

    Czech cup 16.00

    Sigma Olomouc v Victoria plzen

Plzen are one of the form sides in Czech Republic having won their last 6 games which included beating sigma 4-2 in the 1st leg at the begging of the month, they also beat sigma 1-0 in the league last month and sigma are now on a losing run of 5 games. Being a cup game you never know the mindset of the team in front but I think plzen would want to keep their good run of form going and the fact that they have only failed to score 5 times from 36 competitive games this season 3 of those were in champions league & Europa league there is a good chance they will score tonight and one goal might be enough to win it.
Plzen are 11/20 to win the game

    Danish cup 16.00

    Copenhagen v Randers fc

Copenhagen are in fine form aswell in Denmark one defeat in 17 games for the league leaders, they have a good h2h record against Randers winning 3 of the last 4 and the last to visits from Randers have seen 3-0 and 4-0 victories for Copenhagen. Randers have only won once away from home in their last seven games and that came against lower division side Helsingoer, once again it is a cup match but if Copenhagen go about their business in the correct manner I expect a home win.
    Copenhagen are 13/20 to win

    Suggested bet

    Victoria plzen to win
    Copenhagen to win
    Double @ 1.55/1 *NAP*

    • Profile photo of markus
      markus 9 months ago

Just to add to this: Randers FC currently has major issues with the squad. Jonas Borring’s wife cheated on him with the, now, former captain (Keller), which caused team mates to publically say they don’t want to play on the same team as Keller. He was also not in the latest match against Brøndby. Borring has stated he won’t play for Randers while Keller is still in the squad. It’s all over danish media.

      Hi Jordan

i have always followed your predictions, and i have benefited a lot… you called Athletico under 3.5 indirectly yesterday, and i made money off it. Today you called over 2.5 for the Russian game indirectly and i still made money off it.

Walenchi, I’m glad you see it that way. Unfortunately I decided to go in the home side. If I’d have gone with match goals over the last two bets, they’d both be winners, but obviously there’s added risk even with both teams playing in your favour. At least somebody is profiting.

    Copenhagen v Randers – 16:00

    Bet 1 Copenhagen -1 Handicap 7/4 – 4 points (NB)

    Bet 2 Copenhagen -1 AH 57/50 – 6 points (NAP)

Copenhagen are in cracking form at the moment having beaten Aab (4th) 6-2 in their last home match. Randers (7th) haven’t conceded a lot of goals recently but equally in their last 6 away games they’ve only scored on two occasions (3 goals all together), they’ve failed to win any of those games, losing 5/6.
Copenhagen have already beaten Randers 3-0 and 4-0 at home this season and I can see a similar scoreline this afternoon.

Mr F my posts haven’t been getting through today for some reason, I’ve sent admin an e-mail about it so hopefully they can sort the issue.

    Colombia Cup 8:00 PM

Valledupar FC vs Deportivo Pasto – Deportivo Pasto win 11/8 **NAP**

Deportivo Pasto have three wins from three in the mini league format of the tournament whilst Valledupar FC have one win with two defeats and they possess the worst goal difference of the group. Only last week they played each other in the first match and it resulted in a resounding 4-1 Victory where Deportivo Pasto also finished on 60% ball possession with the more goal attempts of the two. They head into this match in better form than their lower league counterparts boasting three wins and a draw from five with Valledupar losing three (against poorer quality opposition) and winning two from five. Based on how events transpired in the first encounter along with current form it seems quite likely the away side will pick up the win tonight.

    Ryman Premier Division:

Leatherhead vs Bognor Regis – over 2.5 MG’s
Leiston vs Harrow Borough – over 2.5 MG’s

      Bullseye,

just looked into that Valledupar game.

Apparently Deportivo Pasto have left out a few of their main players at home. While Valledupar have changed coaches(and won their league game), who has stated that he wants to take the competition seriously. Also, if you notice, in this Group in the Cup, every home game resulted in a home win.

Without a stream, it’s hard to assess these teams though.

      Good luck with the bet.

MrF & Co I have just noticed John Mcginn (Hibernian) is priced at 4/1 to score anytime tonight against (Inverness) with William Hill.

I bring this up because McGinn has recently been called up to the Scotland national team and IMO this will increase the youngsters confidence.

Any input would be great guys as I am thinking of betting 3 figure sum on it.

Over to Venezuela for a Night Owl…

    CARACAS VS. PETARE (11.30 KO)

Petare are on a dismal run – only 4 wins in their last 25 games is testament to that. They have picked up points from scrappy draws here and there and yes, they won 1-0 last time out but that was to a very poor Llaneros de Guanare side who sit bottom.

Caracas haven’t lost in 9 (a few draws mixed in though) and are a solid team at home.

Stats don’t look amazing for goals but I can see 3 here – Over 2.5 match goals…43/40.

Just a comment. Not a bet just wanted to see if people had any views – both score in Barcelona tonight ? They have scored two or more at home for 21 games !!!! But have conceded in nearly half of those added to the fact head to heads at the nou camp Arsenal have scored on each occasion makes me think it has a shot. 5/6 now and before I press the trigger I’ll put it out there probably won’t get much response but would be interested to hear thoughts ? Personally I’ll wait for line ups before I decide but it’s on my radar as a fairly big punt.

@goalwisher Had a look at this myself. Only thing holding me back is Gunners’ ability to close the deal in front of the target, at the moment. The game against Watford was a great example. So many chances and so little to show for it. Having said that, I can see them netting tonight, if not only for the fact that they really should be able to. Going by stats, they usually score against Barça, and if not tonight, when?

      I’m on BTTS as well.

Also on ICT toi and bet of the days gotta be Arsenal corners, always a risk going against Barca but knowing they need to go for it should hopefully see them get 4+ corners.

    Arsenal to get 4+ EVENS

    ICT to win 21/10

    Both at Bet365

Going to have a dabble on Muller ATGS 11/10 … in good form (as usual), netted in the away leg and scored a couple against Breman last time out

Going with Alves tonight and taking Arsenal O3.5 corners at evens B365 and also on Lewandowski ATGS plus a small wager on FGS.
Thought about BTTS in both matches (betfair enhanced to 5/1) but despite their record, Arsenal are too inconsistent to be sure of so leaving that one….. May see how the game pans out and put an inplay on if odds look good later on

Barca gifting Arsenal chances but not taking them. Should be level if not in front. Arsenal can score if they sort their lives out.

Hit the bar again. Goal short in the Accrington game away from a just under 14/1 shot. Gambling is doing my head in ffs 😫😫😫🔫🔫

It was a close one after all between Accrington and Wycombe – the 11/2 1-0 scoreline looked good for 64 minutes but Wycombe managed their 1st away goal in 4 to kybosh that. No 2nd goal for Accy saw to the other 2 point bet.

    BETS PLACED = 6
    WINS/LOSSES = 3:3
    PROFIT/LOSS = +4.73 points

    Well done all winners.

Mentioned the Lewandowski/Messi goal double earlier a a Coral special at 11/4 so a sweetener there. Not posted as a ‘staked’ bet so certainly not included in figures.

Unlucky tonight Mr.F, was a nice burst of energy from Stokes for Hibs.
    Good job to all winners.

Bayern had me worried as I had a quick glance of my phone in work and it was 0-2 after 60mins. Fortunately they showed their caliber and got the 2 goals I needed.
Bognor did the job in the other double by putting 3 past leatherhead, Accrington kept their side of the bargain and put one away against Wycombe making it 18 home games on the trot that they have scored atleast 1.

    March: +19.41pts

My Copa Liberatores Over 2.5 double fell one goal out of 6 short last night and it’s worth another re-run…

Old friends The Strongest take on River Plate – we all know the altitude advantages Strongest have up in La Paz but RP are a quality footballing side and will battle all the way…Over 2.5 goals at 11/10 appeals (2 points)

Much can be said for Trujinallos’ game with visitors Sao Paulo…the Brasilians are a much stronger side…no significant altitude advantage here though…Over 2.5 goals at 11/10 (2 points)

    Over 2.5 double pays 3.41/1 (1 point)

    Good luck!
