MAR 15: TENNIS AND OTHER SPORTS TIPS

tennisballgeneric

ANDY MURRAY made light work of Vasek Pospisil at the Indian Wells Masters on Saturday but US Open champ Marin Cilic was sent packing on his comeback from injury by Juan Monaco.

On Sunday it’s second favourite for the title Roger Federer – 4-1 at Sportingbet – in action and he’s expected to brush aside Paddy Power’s 20-1 outsider Diego Schwartzman.

The likes of Rafa Nadal, Stan Wawrinka and Milos Raonic also play their second-round matches while in the women’s singles Heather Watson faces a tough task to reach round four.

The British No.1 is 5-1 at bet365 to make it past Agnieszka Radwanska, who is 1-6 at Coral.

In the Six Nations rugby it’s Italy v France today and there’s also the final stage of the Paris-Nice cycling.

Good luck with your bets and post your sporting tips and thoughts here.

Went to do your treble last night Jordan
Got suckered into a price boost of –

      Jazz
      Wizards
      Pacers

And of course it was beat.

Lesson learned, they’re price boosted for a reason !!!!

Brian I took the Pacers out for the Jazz because I was wary of the Celtics fast pace. Stick to my price boosts instead mate haha, just kidding, unlucky dude. Get on the Raptors I think that spread will be closer to 4 by tip off.

Jordan, this was my bet: Pacers to win, Jazz to win, 76ers +14,5
    Odds were @1.98 at Unibet.
Pacers were trailing from the start, at the end it was close but too bad…

I placed a bet on Spurs to win today, as a United fan. The odds are good and I want to jinx it 😛

    • Brian 2 years ago

Everything considered they are over priced
I got them at 7/2 which i think is complete madness

@Jordan, forgot to say thanks for your trebble, only just saw it was a winner.

@Shotty, was on both your singles NBA & NRL. Good call, thanks.

    ———–

Posted this early yesterday, the line got up a bit later to -10.5 (and would still have been a winner):

Wizards -7.5 points at home against the Kings.

    ** WON **

    Two singles for me tonight.

NBA — Sac Kings over 49.5 first half team points 10/11 @Skybet

NRL — Rabbitohs vs Roosters over 36.5 total points 5/6 @Skybet

    **Both Winners!**

OriaZ glad to see you was on it mate!

  13. Attila 2 years ago

Hey Guys, been busy the last days so havnt posted. Good to see Jordan posting his winners still. I was on Nets -5.5 as an Evens single which Won, apologies I didn’t have time to post.

    TODAYS NBA SUPER SINGLE:

    – Cleveland Cavaliers -10.0 @ $1.92 (10 points)

Not much to be said, Cavs are I my opinion the #1 team in the NBA right now, whereas the Magic, have not been very magical at all, especially at home where they’ve struggled all season. Cavs will rack up the points its just a matter of when they will take their foot off the gas…but I don’t think they’ll let their lead drop below 10 points. Giodluvk of you follow!

    • Attila 2 years ago

My 2nd NBA single for today is:

      – Phoenix Suns -12.5 @ $1.92

Knicks were blown away by 30+ yesterday, and the Suns are capable of repeating that with their explosive offence. Knicks are so bad on the road I feel this will be an easy ATS win for Phoenix.

  14. re-invented 2 years ago

Jordan, as I said last time ufc is a place for underdog betting 😉 saying that though I did stay well clear last night as I didn’t know which way the main card fights were going. Had a feeling petis would struggle but wow!!! He got mauled. I had overeem and Nelson to go the distance and that was it simply because I knew overeem would pick his shots and not try and war it with sledgehammer fist Nelson haha

    • Jordan 2 years ago

Re-invented if it was a place for underdog betting then Pearson, Overeem and Hendricks wouldn’t have won. Was a great win for Dos Anjos, thoroughly deserved. Yeah the reem/big country fight was a no caller. Could have easily knocked each other out which Roy nearly did in the 3rd but a good fight all the same! Was literally pocket change on that double,m I’m not stupid, I know how quick these fights can turn.

  15. dan 2 years ago

Jeremy chardy to smash donald young 2-0 in sets 9/4 bet365

    • Ad 2 years ago

Any reasoning behind that tip dan?

      • JamesB81 2 years ago

My reverse reasoning for selecting Young is his form this season and that he has been playing mostly in North America with last weekend in Glasgow (only one match) and this didn’t seem to bother him in the first round whilst others had severe Davis Cup hangovers.

He definately seems to have made a step-up from the very erractic young man we knew previously.

Chardy hit his glass ceiling a while ago and seems to drift through the season making a good living but not really that ambitious or good enough to be that bothered about kicking-on.

His serve whilst good won’t be a weapon that Young that get a measure of. In fact the once I’ve seen Young close to losing it this year was against our friend Mr Karlovic when second serve aces were denying Young a chance to break him…..but then Ivo’s serve is something else altogether.

This is Chardy’s first tournament in the Americas this year.

  18. jackaz 2 years ago

Nice one Jordan, won me quite abit this week

  19. JamesB81 2 years ago

Perhaps the ICC will consider dropping England to ‘associate’ level status and Ireland could take their place.

After the last two disasterous winters in Australia I think they may look to avoid down under for the forseeable.

Is India to beat Bangladesh at 1/6 (bet365) worth a ‘lump’ ?

  20. Ad 2 years ago

I’ve noticed a distinct correlation between the amount of beer I’ve been drinking and the quality of my bets…..the past two days have been pretty poor, but that’s the way it goes with upsets sometimes. I think the fact I’ve hardly been able to watch any tennis at all recently is actually the biggest thing that’s gone against me! That changes today, and I’ll be tuning in to as many matches as possible this afternoon/evening with an eye to getting some big winners up for the next day or two.

My lone tip for this evening so far is

    KYRGIOS D DIMITROV @ 2/1

a pick based primarily on Dimitrov’s struggles recently and Kyrgios’ tendency to rise to the big occasion.

    I will also be on

    PLISKOVA D MUGURUZA @ 13/10

as it’s a nice looking price for a match I make her slight favourite for.

And I’m adding a daily double of

    SUAREZ NAVARRO D PAVLYUCHENKOVA
    DOLGOPOLOV D GIRALDO

    which pays 1/1

Good luck. And like I said, I’ll be back with some better stuff soon!

  21. Jordan 2 years ago

Cheers Attila but careful on those Suns mate. They aren’t no Golden State!

  22. dan 2 years ago

Donald young got a hot head nd chardy higher ranking

  23. dan 2 years ago

Its just what im on so dont go lumping just incase

  24. Ad 2 years ago

I certainly wont be lumping on Chardy, have no fear of that! Chardy is a less reliable player than Young right now I would say, but it’s a tough match to call. 2-0 Chardy is the least likely result in my opinion, but it could go either way.

    • JamesB81 2 years ago

See above for my reasoning re. Young tip.

  25. De Niro 2 years ago

I fancy Chardy to win for the upset if you can call it that,

Young is the form man but does he want and believe he can mix it with the big boys – Nadal will be lying in wait for the winner – I believe Young will bow out v Chardy and avoid a Nadal schooling.
I believe its a fairly even match up and hope the mental side gives Chardy the edge.

    Just my theory,

Also think Jack Sock to beat Mueller is a good thing despite Muellers serve and form and Sock injury woes and his poor indian wells record. If hes fit he wins this IMHO.
Can see Sock winning in straight but 6/4 with boylesports needs punishing 😉

Jack Sock 6/4 to beat Mueller Boylesports
    J Chardy Ev’s to beat D Young

    • JamesB81 2 years ago

      Robert

I’d say quite the opposite and that Young will be champing at the bit to have a go against a much more vulnerable Nadal and that I’d put a fiver on Young to beat Rafa as thins stand.

Nor would I say that the Chardy ‘mental toughness’ is made of granite, more a blue cheese.

      • De Niro 2 years ago

James ”blue cheese” love it – great stuff – I did mean Young not wanting to face Nadal and happy to bow out hence he’s already lost in his head unless Chardy also wants to lose – lol, good to see different opinions esp Ads as always – lets see tonight :-)

    • Ad 2 years ago

I think it’s easy to make a case for both men so it’s a no bet for me. If Chardy was 6/4 I might go for it but it’s not really worth trying to split them at 1/1.

Sock I agree can beat Muller. Hard to know how easy he will find getting a read on that serve and getting into a rhythm against it after so long out though. Could be a long one.

      Good luck.

      • JamesB81 2 years ago

Muller can be a real spanner in the betting works at times and has become a player I don’t like betting against. Will leave this one alone.

The little Tiwanese, Yen-Hsun Lu is another ‘spanner’ who at least used to do pretty much the opposite to what you’d expect. Winning & losing unexpectedly.

  26. huggybear 2 years ago

why is it everytime i post a single it goes down , yet when i dont ( wizards -10.5 last night ) it wins….

attila i agree with jordan , suns -12.5 isn`t a gimmee , but good luck mate

  27. huggybear 2 years ago

tonight i`m on clippers -4 , rockets have a poor record in los angeles , also the stats favour the under in this match-up , thinking i might go against jordan`s ss here and take portland , raptors are poor of late and portland`s form is the opposite , they also hold the advantage in the recent h2h 5 and 1 in toronto .

i`m taking clippers -4 main bet and small bet in a double with ptb on the ml

    GOOD LUCK WATEVER YOU CHOOSE

  28. re-invented 2 years ago

Jordan don’t be so touchy haha, what I’m saying is just like Phil Davis when he out wrestled texiera if you knew about fighting that was quite an obvious win for phil davis and I got that aT 5/2, benson henderson got put as an underdog fighting fitch purely due to size advantage once again when you look at styles and hendersons experience it was easy at 7/5, obviously frank mir to take out a silva who had looked terrible since being caught with peds! I’m not saying put every underdog on now that’s stupid!! I was merely suggesting that if you was ever involved in fighting you would know how certain styles favour one opponent more that the other. And the overeem Nelson fight was widely tipped to go over 1.5 because Nelson has a concrete jaw and for overeem to win he would have to pick his shots instead of going head to head. Not like I needed to explain though

  29. Jordan 2 years ago

I’m not being so touchy mate? Hate how people say that from reading messages on a screen. Just funny how I think the last time you posted on this thread was in fact that last time. Wouldn’t have said that if the double won would you mate? I know about fighting, and Esparza was a stab in the dark as if this Polish bird was so good she should have been on TUF, Pettis and Dos Anjos was pure 50/50 of match ups, both can grapple and strike just as good as each other but the size and reach of Pettis plus the fact he was the champion swayed me towards him. Didn’t say anything about the Nelson/Ree, fight but ok. I had fight to go the distance? Does that make me as good as you mate? Haha

  30. Jordan 2 years ago

Huggy, you forget Portlands Matthews is out for the season. Toronto’s depth is perhaps the best in the NBA, at home. Started off as a pick em and jumped to -1.5 in an hour. Knicks also +11 so we’re not the only ones who think that spread is too high.

  31. re-invented 2 years ago

I’m not competing with you Jordan, and actually I post on the football spread more because ufc isn’t everyday as you know. I wasn’t on your double simply because I didn’t trust either of them fights, but the polish bird as you say is a 6 time muay thai kickboxing world champion and she was 6/1. What I said wasn’t me having a dig at your double mate at all I was just saying from my experience betting on any mma events 9 times out of 10 they put the champion as favourite purely because of the champion status. But when you know about different styles and disciplines underdog betting can be a good way to go.

    • Jordan 2 years ago

Mate I doubt anyone was because I posted it when Esparza was entering the Octagon.

      • Jordan 2 years ago

Huggy that Wizards SS looked a hell of a way off at HT, thought my treble was down and out haha

  32. Jordan 2 years ago

Also think your Clippers bet is a good one but didn’t have the figures out last night when I posted Toronto. Griffin could may well be featuring tonight too so that will probably jump up if so.

  33. Attila 2 years ago

Jordan/Huggy – cheers guys. Yeah I lnow Phoenix has had its troubles since they traded Isaiah Thomas away, but they are finding their feet again lately. Knicks will be so demoralised after yesterday’s blowout loss, I can see the Suns winning this by about 15 to be honest…it’s not my main bet tho, just half stakes on this one :-)

tomtie she was probably 6/1 for the finish. I in fact tipped Henderson to win so not sure why he brought that one up either. Its good to say all this stuff when the event is over but never before hand.

I think its an outrage she wasn’t on TUF because of her English when they put subtitles on for anybody from the UK!! Really grinds me! They speak our language ffs!

  39. tomtie 2 years ago

Jordan by all accounts she wasnt too fussed about going on tuf. She had the fight lined up with the brazillian lass she fought in her last fight and was told the winner of that fight would get the first title shot. The decision was made about the language thing by the tv people was completely out of the ufcs hands

Yeah thatch sorry, and yeah it was for the finish your right jordan. And why carry it on haha. I brought it up afterwards because of what I said last time because I thought your obviously into the ufc so maybe on upcoming cards we could put our heads together and pull out a few underdogs, you said you didn’t take it personally but you obviously have

    • Jordan 2 years ago

Take what personally mate? Haven’t taken anything personally just hate hindsight with an absolute passion. You obviously know your stuff so post it before hand instead of afterwards mate. Two heads better than one. I knew I had made the mistake of taking Esparza when I was watching Bruce Buffer doing the announcements. She already looked beaten. Couldn’t do much then.

No your completely right mate I knew it would be a war for pettis but I did think he would probably take that one obviously not haha, just so you know though I wasn’t trying to fault you on your picks at all! I had 300 on silva against weidman in both fights you know as well as I do what happened there haha, since then I’ve been trying to find the underdogs. Next card it is let’s see what we can do. Sorry if I came across as an ass it wasn’t intended that way, lastly I’m also a United fan so we have no need to bicker

    • Jordan 2 years ago

No mate not to worry, again just hate hindsight. I’m up for that. Post your thoughts a couple days before the next big card. Not interested in next weeks if I’m honest. Rockhold/Machida card should be a better one.

Radwanska was 1/10 and lost 2-0. Tennis really is ridiculous Ad huh!

  60. JamesB81 2 years ago

Ernie you have to very careful with the tennis as odds-on favourites fall all the time. Unless you know something about it then it’s best to steer clear.

I find tennis in-play can be profitable when you know the players, their habit’s, the stats and their habitual reactions to X or Y. However again you have to be very careful, concentrated and disciplined or you’ll get burnt.

  61. Ad 2 years ago

Radwanska looked out of sorts, Watson looked great. Definitely thought Aga would win that one if im being honest. Bad matchup for Watson. Too short a price to back Aga though. had her in a few accumulators that were blown first by her then by Safarova seconds later. Women’s tennis….

Shorty, i’d like to apologise in advance as i’m on your SA Spurs half time points bets and my luck has been awful these past few days.
One of the most stupiest things happened today in basketball when i betted on a team total – Osaka were 8 points don with 15 seconds to go and they still deliberatly fouled and thus i lost the bet by 1 point…what the heck did they think or expect would happen?!? Your down by 8 points with only 15 seconds left on the clock ffs!

  69. Harry 2 years ago

    Sri Lanka v South Africa

player to score a century – YES

    4/5 Bet365

    5pts

This match will be played at Sydney Cricket Ground. There have been 2 proper competitive games at this ground so far this tournament and one dead rubber (England v Afghanistan) And we’ve seen records broken and some big scoring innings from the 2 proper games.

The first game here was south Africa v West indies. South Africa scored 408 runs, with De Villiers hitting a record breaking 162 off 66 balls. The second game here was Australia v Sri Lanka. Australia managed 376 runs and Sri Lanka hit 312. Glenn maxwell hit 102 while sangakkara hit 104 In reply. Both teams have played once here and scored a century and I see this being another high scoring match and feel De Villiers has another great opportunity against an attack that hasn’t been too sharp.

In their other games Sri Lanka have been very strong with the bat, they’ve scored 2 centuries against Scotland, 2 against England, 2 against Bangladesh, and 1 against Afghanistan, whilst also conceding 1 against a weak England side. South Africa too have been pretty high scoring, they hit 2 centuries against Zimbabwe, 2 against Ireland, 1 against West indies and conceded 1 against India. De Villiers also has made knocks of 77 and 99. I’ll also be keeping a lookout for total boundaries markets becoming available over the next few days.

  70. Alex 2 years ago

Harry can you tell me why Sri Lanka are so big to win against S.A?

  71. Shotty 2 years ago

Alty Adam now that is some bad luck! Im confident with this though hopefully your luck will turn around starting tonight haha

  72. Harry 2 years ago

Alex I have no idea mate, I can only think it’s down to their bowling attack not having been too great so far. They conceded 240 to Bangladesh, 309 to England, 215 to Scotland, 232 to Afghanistan, 331 to new Zealand, and 376 to Australia. And if there’s one team you can’t afford to not take wickets against, it’s south Africa, as they can score big and very quickly all throughout their tip and middle order. South Africa generally score quicker than Sri Lanka and have a more explosive style and we saw that as they hit 408 on this ground. But I think it’s a very valuable price considering how good Sri Lanka have been with the bat, as well as their world cup experience and tactical knowhow.

  73. Alex 2 years ago

Harry that would probably be the reason then ha ha They are both handy with the bat and are the two teams with the most runs in the tournament 1878 SA & 1788 SL. I like the idea of boundaries so will wait and see what that throws up. The other 3 look relatively straight forward and could perhaps go in a treble that plays just over evens.

  74. Jordan 2 years ago

Don’t say that mate my treble is about to lose haha

Yeah I’ve got all my boundaries stats sorted so just waiting to see what the totals are. If you look about 10 posts up you’ll see I’ve tipped that treble haha 1.07/1 and I’ve gone very big on it too, as it’s my only main cricket tip for the next week

  78. Alex 2 years ago

Harry just seen your treble above for some reason I thought that had won as you had winner next to it! Just realised it was the bookie, classic!!

  79. PumaDrifter 2 years ago

Unlucky indeed ! 3x 6games in sets and lost. Pfffff

  80. Jordan 2 years ago

    Nope. Phone down. Nobody home.

    Speculative Treble

    LA Clippers ML
    Spurs -4.5
    Pelicans ML

    16/10 @ 365 **LOSE**

  81. PumaDrifter 2 years ago

Jordan and co. Any safe nba treble or double for easy money ? Something simple that should land ..

  82. Jordan 2 years ago

Haha well Puma as you can see my speculative treble lost, one game in play and the next is to play don’t really want to chase losses but my SS is the Raptors and huggy has gone against me tonight. Battle within the ranks!

  83. PumaDrifter 2 years ago

Iight thanks for being honest. I just wanted to grab some money back from todays super sunday 😀 but then i rather just pass and look forward – monday.

  84. Jordan 2 years ago

Right, I’ve literally done this off the top of my head in a minute.

    Spurs/Wolves over 199.5
    Hawks -1.5
    Suns -3.5

13/10 @ 365. Chasing losses tonight boys so be wary. Could go tits up if the SS loses too. Huggy will have to do some serious butt kissing if he wants the combined SS to continue hahaha

    • huggybear 2 years ago

mate didn’t see clippers losing home to them tonight , hopefully our game stays close for a bit of interest for us . joint pick tomorrow

      • Jordan 2 years ago

Paul could have taken it to OT but he fluffed the lay up! Yeah cool mate I’ll take a look at the spreads totals and give you my thoughts.

  85. PumaDrifter 2 years ago

Jordan why not…im on it. Hoping i can cover some losses.

  86. Ad 2 years ago

Pliskova does the business against muguruza at least. A nice CSN win now is all I ask for

  87. winnerallright 2 years ago

Hey jordan. big win for Utd today. happy days! Hey if you had 50 quid to bet on who wins NBA title right now, whats ur thoughts…. Im thinking 50 win on Curry and his Warriors but i would appreciate ur thoughts

  88. huggybear 2 years ago

my money would be on the cavs , but its a hard call

  89. Attila 2 years ago

Why did I put Wawrinka in 6 fold Tennis Acca paying about $5. Other 5 legs won but he just got beat when he was a $1.10 favourite…Stupid decision to put such a short price in!

  90. Jordan 2 years ago

Big win WA mate but it’ll mean nothing if we don’t hold Liverpool to a point or less next Sunday! I’m a Swan tomorrow 😀 Well I put a stake on the Warriors @ 9/2 a few weeks back but it’s really anybodies game still. Spurs could still well be in with a chance and like Huggy says the Cavs could go all the way too.

  91. winnerallright 2 years ago

Cheers huggy and jordan for thoughts. yeah its an exciting nba season so far. Playoffs will be unreal. il wait till playoffs before i decide! Fairplay with yeer nba tipping too. its a great strike rate in fairness. Jordan il be roaring on the swansea boys 2moro.. il be a nervous wreck next sun!

  92. Harry 2 years ago

Jordan what’s your ss for tonight? I missed it

    • Jordan 2 years ago

Already stared Harry mate but the Raptors to win. Currently losing 47-44 (one shot game) close to HT so may worth getting on at HT if not too far down but don’t have to jump on mate. Huggy has gone against me tonight but we’ll be back with a combined one tomorrow.

  100. Shotty 2 years ago

Thanks jordan, haha that is true mate i wouldn’t class myself as a tipster either! To be honest im new to NBA but im loving it and find that im doing better than on the footy! Just keeping it nice and simple with singles and its good to see the profit rising

  101. Shotty 2 years ago

Going to stick one more bet up for the nba and that is the Atlanta Hawks over 101.5 team TOTAL points against the lakers, back to normal stakes for this one, pays 10/11 @SkyBet
