POST-CHELTENHAM I was struggling to put up Friday tips as I caught up with my weekend work so apologies for that.
Friday's never going to be a great day for me because of my Daily Record deadline and it's a shame really because the card's usually pretty good. Everything I looked at went to form and at least the 11-10 Daily Double I put up came in.
That was Valencia and over 2.5 goals at Vitesse-AZ. I also suggested Aberdeen and Bayer Leverkusen and while not tipping it I pointed out Motherwell's Scott McDonald was too big at 18-1 to score first at Pittodrie.
It wasn't a tip but I hope some saw it and got on – I didn't because I'd backed the Dons but you can imagine how I felt when Skippy scored.
So we move on to Saturday and my Super Single is Ross County at Hamilton. I can’t ignore form that sees a side with four wins in a row at 11-5 against one without a victory in eight. In fact Accies have netted just three goals in that spell since Alex Neil left for Norwich.
My Top Treble focuses on two teams who should win well – Bournemouth at home to Blackpool and Hearts at home to Dumbarton – as well as Watford against a Reading side who face Bradford in a FA Cup quarter-final replay on Monday and will surely have one eye on that game.

Should see Btts in this one but Forest should outscore Leeds.

Norwich have been very impressive and should net at least twice at home to a Derby side with a decent forward line but a terrible defense.
Norwich have scored at least twice in 7/8 in league and have scored 23 times in those games.
Derby have scored at least 2 in 8/10 league but have conceded 2 in each of last 3 losing 2 winning 0,they have conceded 13 times in last 7 which is very poor for a team sitting 2nd in lg.

Extreeeeeeeemely early ante post here. We saw Leverkusen weren’t goal shy in their efforts tonight winning 4-0 at home. They now have the weekend off for a short trip across Europe to Madrid on Tuesday, where we saw Schalke go and pick up four goals and the win against title chasers Real. One away goal could essentially put Atletico out of the competition with them needing to score three if that was the case. Today Sagan Tosu play Gamba Osaka in the J-League.
Tosu are +0.25 at home which is great value. Gamba are not the same team that won everything last season and I don’t think they should be favorite here.

But its too early to rule gamba osaka out as cant base their form on the afc results as dont know whether they were interested in that. tokyo always give gamba a decent game so the draw last week wasnt such a surprise. Its the part of the season where everyones finding their feet. Its a really hard game to call so youve probably chose right there.

I agree with all you say hampy, it’s early in the season so it’s really hard to call this game. I got done by Kawasaki this morning. They had 10000 chances and wasted them all. Kobe have been super poor and scored twice …
Tosu game could be a draw for sure, so the +0.25 handicap will give us half win. The bet is purely based on value. Tosu at home shouldn’t be underdog especially this early in the season. Gamba are one of my favorite sides too but they may take a bit to properly settle in the season.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned Aston villa at all, 12 games without a win was it? And had the lowest amount of goals scored at this point in the season in history followed by 2 back to back victories against their rivals in the league and cup scoring 4 goals in total.
They will be so high in confidence and will be travelling to a poor Sunderland side who have had the drama of Adam Johnson and gus piglets antics last week.

Yes, Ross County have won their last four and yes, Hamilton have lost their last three, BUT Hamilton are much higher in the league table and are quite clearly long overdue a change of fortune.
IMO, for anybody that’s even seriously feeling it, the bet to place (IF ANY) is Ross Country Draw No Bet.

In the premier league West Brom v Stoke isn’t the most glamorous game on the card but I like both teams to score here. West Brom have scored in 8 of their last 9 home games, while Stoke have scored in 8 of their last 9 away games. Looks decent value at odds against for them both to find the net. It is 6/5 Betway. Berahino is back in form recently scoring in 4 of his last 6, he is 7/4 Various.
In the Championship Bournemouth will feature in most people’s accumulators this weekend, but it is a scorer I am taking a chance on, and it is Matt Ritchie. He as scored 11 goals this season and ended his drought with a double last time out against Fulham. When these two met earlier in the season he helped himself to a double and if Bournemouth win well he may find the net again and looks value at 2/1 Betfred.
The other bet I like is Forest scoring O1.5g. They have an outside chance of the playoffs while Leeds are safe in mid table. Forest have scored in every game since Dougie Freedman took over and covered this bet in 7 of their last 8. It is 7/5 Boyles.
In Europe I want to be with the Bundesliga top scorer Alexander Meier. He has scored 18 goals this season and 11 have come at home. He has scored a brace in his last 2 games, while Paderborn have conceded at least two goals in their last 3 games. Munich have had some big wins in the league recently and also just spanked Shakhtar 7-0

The team is 2 players changed out from the Birmingham game. Shotten in for Christie, and a Debut for 19 year old Hansen in for Mascarell.
The negatives first: I’m guessing its been too soon to have Thorne and Martin back into the fold, Thornes absence is massive and Martin in my opinion was a shoe-in for a score at anytime against the team be’s spent the first 2/3 of his career with. Hansen, I have no idea about him, I just know its an enforced change to Mascarell who got a nasty training injury, but I can only assume that McClaren thinks his under 21’s performances have warranted him a start. I hope he has a stormer.
The positives: The back 4 seems more defensive minded than most of the back 4 we have fielded this season.
The team MUST be hurting after last weeks referee ( who miraculously found 4 extra minutes of Injury time from nowhere ). I think Norwich are gonna meet their match today. I can see a much more focused and clinical in front of goal performance today, and I feel that Derby will revert back to the ” attack is the best form of defence ” tactic.
Ince can put them away, and I expect him to notch one up today, whilst ward and Russell will take on the left and right backs.
Hughes I believe is on 9 yellow cards and he needs to be tenacious, bite the bullet, and put himself right into every challenge ( I feel he’s been holding off this past half dozen games, and I think its the thought of a 2 match ban that is allowing himself to back out of tackles. ) – bite the bullet young-un , and win the midfield battle with Hendrick.
We have 3 massive games coming and of the 3x, this is probably the hardest.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned Aston villa at all, 12 games without a win was it? And had the lowest amount of goals scored at this point in the season in history followed by 2 back to back victories against their rivals in the league and cup scoring 4 goals in total.

Jordan- its the same Torres mate. He’s actually on loan from Houston Dynamo who acquired him in December from Guadalajara (as he was only at Chivas on loan) but had to loan him back as part of some MLS agreement.
Chivas have folded but will be replaced in 2017 with a new franchise.

Jordan the MLS activated a purchase clause in Torres contract to move him permantely to MLS but the condition was that they would loan him back for 6 months.
So the MLS had full ownership of him but meaning when Houston signed him as a designated player they still had to honour the original loan agreement. They signed him for 5 years though so they should get a few goals from him in that time! Haha.
Ah I see that’s a strange deal. Just hope for Houston his legs stay intact playing in Mexico haha
