VAUTOUR (Johnb) and Call the Cops (Voice of Value) helped me enjoy another profitable day at Cheltenham – and thankfully I also put up two winners on the football after a blank Wednesday.
My goals single came up at 13-14 with over 2.5 goals at Villarreal v Sevilla and my Daily Double came in at 2-1 with Wolfsburg and Napoli both winning 3-1 after trailing 1-0.
Unfortunately the Super Single was a loser but if I’d been able to I’d have advised a cover on Besiktas when they led 1-0.
As usual – and more especially so since losing almost two days at Cheltenham – my full focus is on my weekend Daily Record column so not a lot of time to consider Friday’s games.
The one match I’ve studied in detail is Aberdeen v Motherwell and bet365’s 2-9 on a home win must be the shortest the Pittodrie men have been for a top-flight fixture – although Betfred go a biggest 3-10.
Aberdeen’s only defeat in 17 league games was to Celtic last week and their last 14 wins have all been to nil. I’d be tempted to back that again at 1-1 with Paddy Power but Motherwell have improved over the last two matches since signing the experienced Scott McDonald and he netted against Kilmarnock last weekend.
The Dons will be refreshed after a sunshine break to the Canaries so a possibility is to back under 2.5 goals at 11-8 with McBookie and BetVictor.
This has come up five in a row at Pittodrie – 1-0, 0-1, 0-1, 0-0 and 1-1 – and both meetings this season have been under 2.5.
Motherwell are a best 14-1 with McBookie while the draw is 5-1 with the Scots firm.
Dons’ top scorer Adam Rooney is 7-2 at McBookie and Coral to score first while McDonald is 18-1 at Stan James and 6-1 at Paddy Power to net at any time.
Elsewhere tonight I’ll be on Bayer Leverkusen to see off a Stuttgart side who haven’t won any of their last six. Bayer are 1-2 at McBookie and William Hill.
Valencia are in good form in La Liga with four wins and a draw at Atletico Madrid in their last five. Take the home men at 2-5 with McBookie and bet365.
Best bet for goals is over 2.5 at Vitesse v AZ at 4-7 with Paddy Power. It’s a bit short for my goals single but I might put it up if I don’t see anything better.
For now it’s in a daily double with Valencia and hopefully I’ll add tips later if I get time. Remember there are loads of lower-league games to consider so put up any thoughts here.
