I’M not sure where Everton would be without Romelu Lukaku. The big striker has carried the Goodison men at times and will be aiming to haunt former side Chelsea in the FA Cup today.
Lukaku has netted 23 goals this season including four in his last five – although a missed penalty against West Ham last week sparked an amazing comeback that saw the 10-man Toffees lose from 2-0 up.
One of the striker’s best displays came in a 3-3 draw at Stamford Bridge when he didn’t score but ran the defence ragged.
Everton will fancy their chances today against a side feeling the pain of a Champions League exit to PSG just three days ago. But Roberto Martinez’s men have been too inconsistent to back so take Lukaku to score at 11-8 with McBookie.
This is the Londoners’ only chance to win a trophy and Guus Hiddink will have to pick his men off the floor. If Diego Costa doesn’t recover from the injury that forced him off against the French after scoring the best they can hope for is to force a replay so consider Everton draw no bet at 13-15 with 888sport.
The other two ties are tomorrow with holders Arsenal facing Watford and Man United welcoming West Ham.
Like Chelsea Louis van Gaal’s United are heading out of Europe but still have a chance of a top-four place although I believe they’ll miss out.
They trail Man City by three points and have been overhauled by the Hammers who have every chance of joining Leicester in the elite tournament next season.
Slaven Bilic is enjoying a magnificent season which would be crowned by an FA Cup win. You wouldn’t oppose his side against anyone and having won at Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool this season the Hammers look value at 16-5 with bet365.
However, they drew 0-0 at Old Trafford in December and with central defenders James Collins, Winston Reid and James Tomkins out I’d like to keep the stalemate on side and go West Ham draw no bet at 2-1 with William Hill.
Van Gaal is under pressure again after defeats to West Brom and Liverpool but you don’t know what United side will turn up these days.
Arsenal are going for seven wins in a row against a Watford side and are 8-13 at Coral. The Hornets have stopped scoring – their last goal came four games ago when they beat Leeds in the FA Cup – and the Gunners can win to nil at 17-10 with Paddy Power.
