THERE’S a full card in the Scottish Championship on a busy night of football north of the border and that’s where I start.
Bookies could pay out on Rangers to win the title now after they moved 11 points clear of Hibs.
That’s more to do with Hibs losing two in a row to Morton and Dumbarton but without leading scorer Martyn Waghorn Rangers are getting the job done with 1-0 victories.
Hibs are in danger of not finishing second and Falkirk could leapfrog them tonight if they win at St Mirren.
Alan Stubbs takes his shellshocked side to Queen of the South and I’m taking a chance on the Dumfries men not to lose at 6-5 with Paddy Power. They are a massive 9-2 with McBookie and William Hill and while Hibs will be doing their best to end a mini-slump they have a weekend Scottish Cup quarter-final to look forward to.
Below Falkirk there is a battle for fourth spot and Queens are four points behind Raith. They pushed Rangers all they way in their last home match before losing to Kenny Miller’s stunner.
I’ve been tipping unders in Gers games – their last six in the Championship have been under 2.5 and tonight it pays 11-10 with McBookie.
Raith have improved since signing Aidan Connolly, Harry Panayiotu and Ryan Hardie but Hardie is unavailable as he’s on loan from Gers.
Ibrox Mark Warburton is hinting at a couple of changes with Dundee visiting Ibrox in the Cup last eight on Saturday.
St Mirren v Falkirk is a vital game for both sides and again it could go under with the Buddies’ last four finishing 1-0 or 0-1. Under 2.5 goals pays 19-20 at Ladbrokes.
Dumbarton should build on their Hibs shock by beating almost doomed Alloa at home with Ladbrokes going a biggest 3-5.
In League One best bets could be Ayr at home to Cowdenbeath while promotion-chasing Clyde look a solid bet at home to basement boys East Stirling in League Two.
Tonight’s two Premiership games – Hearts v Inverness and Killie v Ross County look tough to call. I wouldn’t mind being on a both teams to score double at 23-10 with McBookie.
Bets to Consider
Hearts v ICT both to score
QoS not to lose
Rangers v Raith under 2.5 goals
St Mirren v Falkirk under 2.5 goals
