ENGLAND have cleared the decks after their disastrous Cricket World Cup campaign and head into the ODI series against New Zealand today with a new-look squad short on experience.

The Kiwis caught the eye with impressive World Cup performances, finishing runners-up to Australia, and are 2-5 favourites at Skybet to win the five-match series while England are 5-2 at Betfred and Totesport.

Today’s opener takes place at Edgbaston and the hosts are 6-4 underdogs at Paddy Power, with the Black Caps 8-13 at Betfred.

On the tennis circuit the grass-court season is under way with the Mercedes Cup in Stuttgart and there’s a packed day of matches including Viktor Troicki versus Borna Coric while the WTA action comes from Nottingham and Holland.

There’s also cycling and Stateside sport among today’s highlights so post your tips and chat here and good luck with your bets.

    * Golden State Warriors ML @ 20/21

i think the Warriors will take this one , should be a different game in Cleveland , the Warriors versatility will benefit them the deeper it gets into the series , you’re not gonna see any Change from the Cavs they will play the same way throughout (supposes there not much they can do when delly is your starting guard and Lebron wants to score every bucket himself). Steve Kerr knows his sh*t he will come up with something And curry being cold from the field I doubt that will happen 3 games in a row

    I know what your thinking

As bad as Romanian handball though I don’t think so ( Sorry Hunter 😉 ) haha

Although home advantadge is massive in the skirts game the storm are good team and were brilliant in there opener, the shock did cause an upset to win the first game to beat the Chicago Sky but a 6.5 start seems generous to me for the storm

  10. Iddy 1 year ago

ELLIS – Rafa on paper looks to have a very tough draw. He could well end up winning it but 11/4 might be a bit low really. Think his route is Rosol/ Tomic/ Monfils and Cilic. All of them are comfortable on grass and could hit him off the court. Personally odds are a bit low I think.

  11. Felix 1 year ago

Joe, guessing because it’s Germany and Zverev is a bit of a talent.

Joe – it’s Alez Zverevs older brother. He is 500 as he has been injured for a while. He is an ok player. Think he was top100 before injury. Thiem should win though. I am on him and an Istomin double. Good luck.

Iddy, thanks. That’s good enough for me!

  16. Hunter 1 year ago

Although I was in good profit yesterday (attributed mainly to my NBA Special) it felt like a loss with Sassari slumping to Milano in the second half. On reflection, given previous games, the HT spreads would have been the safer option at similar odds! Anyway, hindsight is a wonderful thing and after cutting up my Armani jeans like some jilted woman I’m now feeling positive again and ready to tackle the Euro bball minefield that is the play-offs.

  20. Juan 1 year ago

I’ve spent the morning looking for some value in th ODI today but not had much luck. It’s a lot harder to study when all the stats and everything are in world cup format! No time for a major write up like usual but I’m having new Zealand to win and after a little bit of trawling I reckon the boundaries line from williamhill is set wrong again (as per usual) but this time I think it’s too high at 56. As it’s the first ODI of the series it’s going to be harder to judge than the rest, but with Captain Morgan coming out saying he knows England have slipped way behind the top teams etc combined with the young inexperienced squad selection, I can’t see past a NZ win here today.

    England v New Zealand – 1st ODI

    New Zealand to Win

    6pts 6/10 boylesports

    Under 56.5 total boundaries

    2pts 5/6 williamhill

  28. Harry 1 year ago

NZ to win & hit the most 6’s also looks a good bet at 5/4 with williamhill but as it’s the first of the series I’m happy with what I’m on. Will be better prepared to smash the bookies come the next ODI with more knowledge and prep. Good luck all!

Hunter what u think of the Madrid game first half half total it’s 80 .5 both teams are not shy of the bucket?

  39. Harry 1 year ago

Night owl good luck mate. Looks nailed on now. You know with McCullum he’ll either score less than 5 or more than 50. I hope he comes out flying and gets some momentum on their side for both of our sakes!

  40. Hunter 1 year ago

You read my mind picksix but where did you get 80.5? I’ve already placed a bet at 81.5 @ 9/10.

Both teams are very attack minded and if I remember correctly the previous game was around 90.

  41. Hunter 1 year ago

Was just looking at Efes before deciding to post the Madrid game! The more I look at the Efes spread, the more I’m inclined to leave it!

Valencia won’t stop Madrid scoring, my only concern would be Madrid will want to sure up their defence after their performance in the first half a few days back. All in all though, this total is too low!

Was tempted by the 1st half spread for Valencia but think Madrid have a point to prove here so too risky!

  42. mlac 1 year ago

hunter do you think madrid will cover the spread?

  43. Hunter 1 year ago

Personally wouldn’t touch the spread bud. They’re more than capable of covering the spread but Valencia are no mugs and proved that in the previous game. I’d be surprised if they repeated the feat but the -7.5 is not one I’d back with too much confidence. Possibly inplay wouldn’t be a bad option as I expect Valencia to start well and Madrid to come back strong.

  44. Picksix 1 year ago

Was either ladbrokes or skybet mate I’m gueessing the line has changed as I have put it just before I posted this and they are both 81.5 now

  45. Picksix 1 year ago

    I have 81.5 @ 17/20

  46. Jordan 1 year ago

Faith restored in the Warriors (slightly) Cavs were -1 favourites after game 2 but now +1.5 underdogs. Must be the fact it went to OT with Currys awful performance. Like I said, not again.

  47. Jordan 1 year ago

Wow, just seen captains post! Somebody is getting sacked @ Ladbrokes. Now 1/4 haha

  48. Jordan 1 year ago

For me you just have to look at some of the key stats in game 2 to figure out that the Warriors SHOULD win this tonight.

Cleveland: Fast break points: 6. Points in the paint: 26.

Warriors: Fast break points: 17. Points in the paint: 32.

Curry has a good game and the Cavs are screwed. Waiting on 365 for a few props.

  49. Hunter 1 year ago

Picksix, You know what like, 1 point can make all the difference but happy with 81.5. Will be surprised it this doesn’t reach or go very close!

  91. aj 1 year ago

LeBron to record a double double is 1/3 odds are short but considering a large stake based on his recent points. Any thoughts guys?

  92. Picksix 1 year ago

AJ I don’t know how much you’re putting on it but you’re probably better off betting the rebound and assist as singles instead as there both under 10 anyway ( of course the points will not be a problem)

    1/3 = £300 stake – £ 100 profit max

    Reccomended way
    Over 8.5 assists 5/6 = £150 stake – £125 profit
    Over 9.5 boards 5/6 = £150 stake – £125 profit

that would be the more profitable way to do it

  93. Picksix 1 year ago

Hunter I know terrible luck that was mate don’t think I’ve seen Madrid score 13 in a q before

And did u catch the final total ? It made me laugh lol

  94. aj 1 year ago

Picksix I see what you mean. Wasn’t going daft with stakes – I have a similar system to most guys on here where I have a max daily amount of points. I was thinking of using them all on the double double just because tomorrow is a small card. Tempted to be more ambitious and just use a few points on LeBron going over 35.5, but can he keep carrying the Cavs game after game.

  95. Ellis 1 year ago

Jordan, Huggy etc thoughts on tonight’s points total in the NbA?

  96. Picksix 1 year ago

Those stakes were just easier to use for the example mate , of course the only problem doing it that way is if one cops and the other doesn’t then you’re in with a little loss ,

Picksix Curry has been on holiday mode these games thinking all he has to do is show up, needs to watch LeBron put the work in and you will win
