JUNE hasn't started well but that's partly down to the fixtures and maybe I should have just shut up shop until the Champions League Final.
I was one goal short on the main Super Single as Djurgaarden and Norrkoping fought out a 1-1 draw while Serena Williams losing the first beat the Top Treble. I've already picked a Daily Double that will clear the early losses so fingers crossed.
On Friday there are some international friendlies, including Scotland v Qatar, and it's well known I hate them from a betting point of view. The Scots should win a low-key affair at Easter Road but in reality their full focus is on next Saturday's vital Euro qualifier away to the Republic of Ireland.
Gordon Strachan will use as many fringe men as possible and it should be a chance of the likes of Charlie Adam and Leigh Griffiths to catch his eye. Adam's back in the squad after a superb end to the season with Stoke while Griffiths couldn't stop scoring for Celtic after, by his own admission, giving up on Irn-Bru!
Scotland are 8-15 at Betway to win and while I know little about Qatar I'm tempted. Under 2.5 goals is likely at 21-20 with bet365 and if they start consider Adam to score at 7-2 with Betfred and Griffiths to score first at 5-1 at Betfred.
I put up a double I liked last night and have had some time to hunt down a Super Single. The double is Dundalk to beat Bohemians in the League of Ireland and both teams to score at Tromso v Molde in Norway. Dundalk are unstoppable at the moment and are unbeaten in their last nine meeting with Bohemians going back to 2012.
It's first v second but Dundalk will move nine points clear of their rivals with a game in hand and while it's early that's a gap unlikely to be bridged. Boss Stephen Kenny has a full squad to choose from and will want to get as many points on board as possible before his men go into European action.
Dundalk won the first meeting of the sides 3-0 this season and while they should cover the minus one handicap for the double I'm on them just to win at a 4-11 with 888sport. Minus one you can have evens with Paddy Power and that's a possible Super Single.
Tromso sit second bottom in Norway but have netted 15 goals in 11 games and could score against Molde who are rightly 5-6 favourites at BetVictor to win.
There have been 27 goals in Tromso's last six matches and 26 in Molde's previous six with all of those going over 2.5 goals. Take overs as opposed to both to score.
I was favouring Dundalk -1 as the Super Single but the Racing Post's excellent Irish section on a Friday is headlining Bohemiamns +1.25. To be honest I'd be surprised if it came in but they should know more about Irish football than me so it won't be the Super Single.
Instead I've decided to focus on a friendly only because there is firm team news from Guus Hiddink as Holland face USA in a friendly ahead of next week's Euro qualifier against Latvia. Hiddink hasn't enjoyed the best of times with the Dutch and three wins in eight is something he has to improve on. He needs a morale boost and knows it.
For this friendly he has named his strongest available squad and has confirmed the likes of Jeffrey Bruma, Bruno Martins Indi, Memphis Depay, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Robin van Persie will start.
Arjen Robben, Wesley Sneijder and Ron Vlaar are among those injured but it should be a strong Dutch team. USA on the other hand are without the likes of Landon Donovan, Jozy Altidore, Clint Dempsey and Jermaine Jones.
As long as Holland have the right attitude in Amsterdam – and that's sometimes the problem – they should cover the -1 handicap but I'll go slightly safer with Holland -1 AH at 13-15 with BetVictor.
Depay will be feeling good after his move to Man United and we know all about the goal threat he provides from midfield. I'll be on him at 13-2 with bet365 to score first.

It’s out on Tuesdays and worthbthe £2.20 as saves loads of time plus get write ups and tips too. On the corners I only use soccerway and think that’s spot on, never looked at flashscore before so didn’t realise. How different are they & on how many games?? If it’s just 1 corner on some games it might be adding corners that weren’t taking at end of games, corners awarded but ref blows ft whistle before corner taken

I was looking at goals int he Galway game too but Cork’s away form just doesn’t fit. As you mentioned their away games have been pretty low on goals. They have actually drifted in the betting now too. Also, a few Oriel Park regulars I spoke to thought Galway were as good a team as anyone they have seen this season. Their manager, Tommy Dunne, is bemoaning their last two performances but he was the last Cork manager so he will have his players up for this one for sure.
I can’t take Dundalk at their price. Bohs have kept pace with the best of the rest drawing with Cork and Rovers. The only teams to beat them were Dundalk, Pats and er… Galway (twice). SO on that basis if Pats, Rovers, or Cork came calling would you back Dundalk @ 1.36? I still think they’ll win but it’s too short for me (to answer any questions, no I don’t think Bohs are as good as the other three, but they are performing well).

Gills rob , I want this to succeed as you do , but + 18 is not way off , I don’t think your understanding me , on Sunday you guys gave 4 bets I backed them all for £500 each by then end of the day the bets were -1 but I wasn’t down £500 I was down £675 which as I’m trying to explain the longer you try to get to the goal of plus 12 the further away and the extra losses accumulate and there is no edge ,,,
If for example we needed 60 betting days to get to +12. There would be tiny if any profits as all the winning bets paying under evens would of accumulated and would of been wiped out by the losing ones !

Thanks WC, if you’re on soccerway it’s worth going to the date picker and having a look at the results from the end of the last season, around 31st may in this league. I’ve found a lot of teams had high scoring final home games to the season regardless of form, which I don’t think the bookies have considered too much as the prices seem the same as usual. Kapfenberger for example last season, hadn’t scored more than 1 goal In 10 home games in a row before their last home game of the season, which they won 6-4.

Valuewise i found that if you pick 3 games with a strong favourite/goals expected in each…the treble pays around evens and was pretty successful.

Lads, a word of caution on the cork game, galway have their first choice back four since the first game of the season due to injuries/suspensions. Plus cork tend to play it safe away from home and try to bag a clean sheet, they’ve only scored 2 away once this season at drogheda. If cork get an early goal they will shut down, if galway score early it might just rain goals. Fitba is spot on, I’m a regular at galway home games and they put it up to anyone. They have a very young team so decision making/experience has lost them points but they are getting more consistent.

The +/- is very important to Rob and I as it the way we calculate the % winners. We need to know this as it drives what Asian lines we play. At the end of the month we review the % wins for each line and drop any under 60% and include any we didn’t play that performed over 60% ( rolling 3 months
The integrity of this data is key, so adding a -1 here and there is not an option we can consider.
As for stake, we have been very clear a number of times, you need to adjust your stake when your bank doubles, not based on +12. I believe Pete T has also pointed this out a number of times, but I think it is here you are getting confused.
Only move your stake when you double your bank, if you are using that particular staking strategy (one of three we suggested)
To get to double your bank could take a week, a month, 3 months, and could also only happy when you are +12, +18, +24. This is all dependent of odds.
What we offer is a way to stop losing money and increase you bank, no promises tho, although I have said it is slow and boring.
I’m not sure when you starting following but we have been posting this system for about 3 weeks now.
I use the strategy of dividing my stake by 12 every Monday morning, and for the last 3 weeks I’m happy to confirm
Week 1, finished as + and increased my stake

I’ve read a few comments on this thread (and the Asian Corners thread).
Rob and Simon’s system does have risks – mainly that you could lose 12 bets in a row (but then any system has that risk). What we do have, however, is a sensible staking system that works on the following basis:
1) It has an approximate win rate of 65% (I think it’s actually closer to 70% but lets be a bit conservative here!).
2) Odds on the asian line vary between 1.7 and 2.0 generally. Let’s say the average winning odds are 1.8 (again, a little conservative).
In terms of (1) as we get more data we will converge onto a pretty good figure of what the strike rate is. 65% is really good though, anything more is excellent.
So taking the approach that we want to turn a 12 point bank into a 24 point bank based on the figures we should be able to calculate the estimated number of bets to make a 12 point profit by saying:
For every 100 bets (not including voids on the asian line), 65 will win, 35 will lose.
65 winners (1pt bet at average odds of 1.8) returns a profit of 52 points
35 losers (1pt bets) returns a loss of 35 points
So for every 100 bets placed, on average we will return 17 points profit. 12 points will take approximately (12/17) x 100 bets = 71 bets to hit the 12 point profit.
Of course the figures above are based on conservative figures – if the strike rate is better of the average winning odds are better then we get the 12pt profit faster.
As Simon keeps saying it’s slow and steady betting but, for the long term, very profitable if you raise your stakes as your bank grows.

So after a small loss on Thursday we moved onto one bet on Friday. Friday marks Day 10 and we had just the one bet from Simon and Rob. Once again, each bet had a 1pt stake which I valued at £10 (total bank was 12pts, ie £120).
