GERMANY are proving ruthlessly efficient at reaching finals as their Confederations Cup squad followed the lead of the Under-21s by moving within one win of glory.
The excellent 4-1 victory for Joachim Low's side over Mexico landed me a 31-10 winner on Germany win btts while the Europa League qualifiers proved a happy hunting ground for Greg with a 9-2 goals winner to soften the blow of seeing his beloved St Johnstone beaten.
Mr Fixit's fivefold, posted before he jetted off on holiday, fell one short with Helsinki suffering a shock defeat in Wales to Connah's Quay but it was money back for one wrong so no harm done.
Today the final of the Under-21 Euros takes centre stage with Germany Under-21s and Spain going head to head.
Spain have been the team of the tournament so far, winning all four games and scoring 12 goals along the way. Two players – Saul Niguez and Marco Asensio have accounted for eight of those goals – not bad considering neither of them is a striker.
Niguez hit a hat-trick in the 3-1 semi-final win over Italy and looks value at 3-1 at Paddy Power to net any time in the final while Asensio is 23-10 at the same bookie.
They're far from a two-man team though – the Spanish side is packed with top-class talent and can come out on top against a German side who needed penalties to see off England in the last four despite dominating much of the match.
