June 23: Jordan’s Football Tips

Jordans_FootballTips

IT was one out of two for Jordan overnight on the USA v Argentina game and he’s staying in the States.

He says: “Tough games as usual in the Euros. Think it’s best to wait until we get to the knockout stages before the real football gets played. Instead I’ll be heading to Utah in the MLS where the Red Bulls travel cross country to Salt Lake City.”

Posting tips on own thread a good idea – cheers Jordan. I missed the overnight ones, but probably because I was in bed. At least I know I don’t have to wade through the main thread to look for any additional tips now…

The NFL season is still months away so this is very premature, but I think its a decent price. It has nothing to do with the fact I support the Packers, but the fact the North went down to the final game last season, and that was with a fat Eddie Lacy, Clay Matthews not playing his prefered Outside Linebacker role, and no passing game to speak of with Jordy Nelson missing the whole season. This year will be different. Eddie Lacy looking lighter, Jared Cook being signed for a big athletic Tight End who can stretch the field (something the Packers haven’t had since Jermichael Finley) and the return of Jordy Nelson. The Packers also have one of the easiest schedules on paper this year. There are other factors of course, and those will come in due time, but this price won’t get better unless the Packers get hit with the injury bug, again. Happy to make this an ante-post NAP.

Looking at the bracket I think Belgium have the easiest route to the Final if they can get there. Hungary did well to top the group but there is no way they should have scored three against the Portuguese and they’ll do well to get past the Belgians who have talent throughout. If they get past Hungary its either Wales or Northern Ireland next, and although the Welsh were undefeated in the qualifications against them, its a whole different kettle of fish now we’re in the knockout stages and I think Wales have had it easy up to now. (Apologies any Welsh natives but you’ll probably agree).

Jordan, probably be a Belgium v Croatia semi-final.
On current form I’d take Croatia.

Funny you mention that Mr F. Nearly posted Croatia for a point to also reach the Semis. Surely the best dark horse at the moment. 2/1 @ William Hill to get to the Semis 👍

Jordan, yeah I think so. I’ve gone one step further and backed them to win ew.
Portugal won’t be easy then it’s probably Poland and Belgium. Good chance.
