GERMANY remain favourites to win the European Under-21 Championship despite starting with a laboured draw against Serbia.

They are 11-4 with 888sport and BetVictor with England and Portugal joint 5-1 favourites ahead of their meeting on Thursday night.

Germany were unimpressive even before going down to 10 men so let's hope England live up to their billing although it won't be easy.

I lost 11pts on the Super Single by putting my faith in Germany and it's a pity I didn't instead back Denmark at 29-20 after tipping them to beat hosts the Czech Republic. But hindsight is something all punters would love to have – and it's only trolls who have been blessed with that quality.

Much of the focus will be on England U-21s and while I'm tempted to back Gareth Southgate's men at a best 28-17 with 888sport it might pay to go with both to score instead at 5-6 with bet365.

England of course have Harry Kane, the Premier League's top scorer, as well as Liverpool new boy Danny Ings and even Jesse Lingaard but Saido Berahino has been ruled out through injury and that's a concern. There is strength throughout the side but the absence of Everton's John Stones for the first two matches after he suffered concussion is a blow.

Kane is 11-2 with bet365 to score first and it's difficult to resist but the Spurs man's reputation will go before him and he'll be closely watched. To score at any time Kane is 15-8 at bet365.

England beat Portugal 3-1 on a friendly at Burnley last year but their rivals have some decent players including Monaco's Bernardo Silva, Porto's Ricardo Pereira and Sporting's Carlos Mane.

The other group game sees Italy take on tournament outsiders Sweden and the Italians are 20-21 at Betfred. Sweden deserve a bit of respect after shocking a powerful France side in the play-offs.

I considered btts at Degerfors v Syrianska in the Swedish Superettan but the only previous meetings at Stora Valla haven't brought up the market so I'll leave it.

Elsewhere there's too much on the go until Peru-Venezuela in Copa America unless anyone's doing their homework on the Icelandic Cup matches.

I'm golfing in the morning so will be away all day.I have two tips on the England game – and please remember I won't be dragging you to the bookies to put them on.

It's your choice – but what were Brazil all about last night? Bookies are liking this Copa America more than men.

I don’t want to preach but as someone who used to lose time and time again I would like to say, Don’t bet every day just for the sake of it. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket and Don’t attempt to chase a loss. If only one person listens to this then this post was worth it. I’ve made steady profit in the last 2 and a half years by being patient and disciplined. I also lost year after year for 15 years prior to this. I can see so many people on here making the mistakes i made and it’s sometimes painful to witness.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Iceman dave, in a way I’m a victim of the site’s success. I had made up my mind to do very little in June after a busy season but it’s difficult to do that when so many people are on looking for tips and advice. I’ll definitely calm it down a bit at the end of next week when the schools stop – I won’t have the time for one thing. And I’m looking forward to the site changes in September when there will be less emphasis on what I do and more on the community in general.

    • beansprout100 9 years ago

I agree entirely with iceman dave .sometimes it’s not knowing what to bet…it’s knowing not to bet.I have been growing my account slowly but surely for the last six months or so,with all of the predictable ups and downs. However the last two weeks have been worse than bad and I have decided to do what I’ve done before and give it a rest for a while. That’s the only way I know to break a losing streak.Perhaps next year I’ll ignore June altogether.

j-bcfc, well done with the btts double but didn’t see your Serbia tip on here. Didn’t see much of the game but was out but they didn’t look like they were going to score once Germany went down to 10 men. Main problem was Germany 2 stars – Hoffman and Volland – didn’t turn up. Anyway it’s gone now and I move on.

If this doesn’t come in I’ll be extremely surprised. Jamaica went from playing well against Uruguay to one of the worst performances I’ve seen in a while against Paraguay. I mentioned after the game I counted on one hand the amount of times they strung more than 4 passes together. With the table tight for first place Argentina will have to go gun ho and a 2-0 for a void I will take every day of the week.

Why Jordan were you on that 11-0 game? I can’t believe I didn’t make any money off it

  13. Jordan 9 years ago

I wasn’t Capone mate I looked at it before it started but thought the -7AH was a bit too high. It went down to -3AH before the home side scored and I thought I’d see how the second half went at 3-0. Just kept backing out as I had been done by the Brazil women earlier in the day. P*ssed off, they were 11/4 to score the 11th but I thought na they’re all done. Low and behold, 11-0 haha

Kane, beraniho, ings… I sort of already feel sorry for portugals back line. Camt remember seeing an under 21 sides front line looking so impressive. Pace goals skill we got the lot. Beat portugal 3-1 last time in november 2014. Think the draw no bet at 1.90 is real value and will take kane anytime.
portugals no mugs but its hard not to expect england to do well in this

    England u21s dnb 1.90
    kane anytime 2.87
England u21s to win and btts 5.50/1

May be a few other games got eye on but may drop the goal lines and throw a small acca together instead.

    I am thiking:

    England 0.0 AH @1,875
    BTTS @1,91

    Could it really go wrong?

I fancy England winning with BTTS

England Winning and BTTS or a Draw with BTTS Would see great profit. England Win to Nil or England loose with BTTS would more or less see a Close to break-even.

A 0-0 would see me lose 1/2 bets and a Portugal win to nil would see me with the big L on the forehead, but those outcomes seems to me very unlikely.

  30. Yesevil 9 years ago

Kane to score and England to win in 90 mins is price boosted to 7/2 @skybet.

I think it’s worth a couple of points

  31. Andy 9 years ago

Happy I agree with you re England and it’s not patriotic betting because it’s England. I attended the friendly between these too at burn ley a while back and I believe seven of portugals players that night are playing. Accept it was a cold night in burnley and not the favourites of many Portugal players but England could score at will if they wanted too and that was without the formidable attacking line. England all the way but back of the mind is what happens to us at major tournaments and after a few points down at the minute may be cautious too but have taken the England win.

  32. hampy 9 years ago

Kanes desire to play for the u21s for this tournament before hes a fully fledged full international makes you think just how much this squad wants to win it. May be a good spirit within and germany obviously not in the form they have been its very winnable. Id love to see him at united alongside rooney but doubt thats going to happen.

Now out to 1.96. If anybody in their right mind even watched the Jamaica game the other night, they would not be touching them, but for some reason they are being backed. To me this is blind punters taking a chance on the poor performances from Argentina thus far. Big mistake.

  50. Jordan 9 years ago

Ultimately you can get the Zalgiris team goals @ 19/20 @ 888 for Over 2.5 but I’m taking the AH. The 2-0 correct score has been backed from 8’s to 4’s. Could be a fishy one as judging by the price changes there might have been some news floating about Lithuania at 8 this morning. A point on 2-0 @ 5/1 @ PP might not be a bad shout. Not a tip. I’m on the AH.

As I sit here with a bit of hash brown on my chin while chewing on bacon, I wonder how Lahti didnt score yesterday with more possession, more shots, more shots on target, more corner kicks. My analysis was correct, they would try and get something out of the bottom dwellers, but it wasnt to be.

Not much value today from my usual markets, but bookies cant get every scrumptious market right, right?
I stumbled across the match in the Lithuainian A Lyga between Paruojo Kruoja and VMFD Zalgiris at 4pm. Cutting into a cumberland sausage, I was pleasantly surprised at Zalgiris’goalscoring form and away form in general. 15 goals in last 5 away game and 20 in last 8. They’ve scored 43 goals overall and 20 of those are away from home. Fantastic. Must be their top striker holding the fort, the Brazilian Elivelton. Nope, he was benched last game in a shock 4-2 defeat and sits 4th on the goalscoring league, a good 8 goals behind the leader. This team is a free for fall.

In pre season, the hosts were tipped to have a stunning season, but it seems they’re not the team they were last year. 1 win in 7 home games is not the trait of a successful team. Mourinho is likely to testify. So wheres the meaty value? 1/5 for Zalgiris to win? No. read on fellows.

Zalgiris will be relishing the Europa league draw soon and nows the time to put a marker on proceedings. Their last 5 away games has seen atleast 1.5 goals in the first half, bringing up that market 3 times themselves.
Kruoja have seen 1.5 first half goals in 3 of their last 5 home games, and although they have not brought the market up themselves, Zalgiris should do the job here.

So why are the following odds so gorgeous? It appears the bookies still think Kruoja are a team of yesteryear. H2H shows low scoring games with Zalgiris winning most of them. Zalgiris sit 2 points clear at the top and after a mauling in their last game, they’ll be mad men. There should be goals.

Pakruojo Kruoja v VMFD Zalgiris – Over 1.5 first half goals 6/4 @Bet Victor

Jordan, I read about Zalgiris training on grass pitches recently, probably for the Europa league. Also, general consensus is they’ll score atleast 3 but at 19/20, it didnt really appeal for that many goals.

  57. Tommy 9 years ago

Hi All, a very quick very simple betting strategy/tip for anyone who is interested in goalscorer bets. Especially relevant today as Mr F has tipped an anytime scorer in Kane.

I have had quite a bit of success taking my “anytime scorer” picks and working in a “first Goalscorer” bet as well. I have done this pretty much all season with Ronaldo and made decent and steady profit, you will see why in a moment.
You will need to use a bit of initiative on how you would like to split the points. For example today, if I were to stick 3 points on Kane anytime. I will wait and do it in-play after the first goal has gone in. What I will do instead is put 1 point on him being first goalscorer. If he scores first at 5/1 with bet365 i’m 4 points up, pretty much what I would be up taking him anytime at 15/8 with 3 points. This effectively reduces any potential loses if he gets subbed, injured, doesn’t start for any reason, gets played out of position or if England don’t score.

If Kane does not score first, by waiting until the first England goal goes in, you can then make more of an informed decision on how to play the second part of the bet. If the first goal goes in early it does slightly disadvantage you as anytime prices will be relatively what they would be pre-game. If it goes in later in the first half, or even in the second half. The price of Kane “Anytime” should be greatly improved. Meaning I then put my remaining 2 points on him “Anytime”. Or, if the first goal goes in late I can choose not to play the second part of the bet at all and walk away with only a 1point loss.

Please don’t pick this strategy apart based on tonights example of Kane. This is the same strategy I use for all my “anytime” scorer bets. The reason I started it is because Ronaldo is often as low as 1/4 to score anytime for Madrid. By using this strategy I have greatly improved my odds as he scores first a lot, when he doesn’t I find the odds are often close to evens for the “anytime” part of the bet.

This is just a friendly note on MY strategy, that works for ME. If you don’t agree then please dis-regard the comment and move on. I wont be around to defend it as I’m working all afternoon now.
If you like it. I hope you can find a way to incorporate it and adapt it for your bets and start making steady profit from the bookies.

One last note on this. Betfred often offer enhanced odds if you your first pick scores a second or third time. Their odds for first goalscorer are often slightly lower than other bookies as a result, but if you think your pick might get 2 or 3 then your can be ££££s in. Personally I usually use 365 for the in-play part.

Good luck all if you decide to explore my technique!

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Tommy, I do something similar. I almost always back anytime scorer I tip with fewer points on first scorer.

  58. Padjo 9 years ago

He was top scorer in qualification with ten goals in 11 games.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Padjo, it’s a blow but should mean more chances for Ings and Kane should get the goals.

    I’m gonna jump on this:

    Double@ 2.35

I like them bets “the cheif” is excellent with his tips, I won a few bob on the w.c and my only strategy was to cover both 1st and anytime with most points going on the anytime as it happens that if you only cover 1 bet you will likely lose.

Ronaldo was a bet i did last season using the martingale system as he would rarely go 2/3 games without scoring, it did take a little bottle and i did take the money after every 3 or 4 games on the bounce of scoring i was finding he was evens to 2/1 for first so was worth the risk

Women’s world cup 12/1 japan and 10/1 Brazil each way as the two strongest on that side of draw to reach final. Canada , England and Norway also on that side but japan who won all games and Brazil both technically better . saw yesterday England were technically inferior and again conceded late on against better opposition they will come unstuck. Similar to senior men’s . I think some of the stuff Colombia played was excellent and England won through a bit f help from ref and two set plays ? That said they have had momentum but then so are other teams and they are 25/1 for a reason. I be weary of the continued bias commentary and the lack of criticism or acknowledgment to opposition. If England beat Norway they would then go on to play winner of hosts Canada or Switzerland then semis likely to be Brazil or japan . one thing that could b tomlook out is the goals market and btts and wins as teams now have to go for it.
American, France , and Germany are on other side of the draw. So for me that further reason to rate japan and Brazil as finalists if not winners! CCameroon and Norway would be outside gets on either side of the draw.

  67. craigyboy 9 years ago

Cameroon are a very dangerous team…theyre physical and possess a lot of pace. Id back them to score against the best. Have they got enough quality to win it? Probably not but I think they can reach the semis with a bit of luck

  75. Franko 9 years ago

    Mr F

Can i ask, if no ones allowed to critisize a tip before the game is played, and when anyone critisizes it after the game they are called a troll with “hindsight” well the million dollar question is…”

When are we allowed to critisize a poor tip?

because yesterdays was heavily critisized before the game and they were told to wait until the result, then after the result anyone that critisized it was given the hindsight patter, just confused.

    • Satoshi Honder 9 years ago

Franko, you’ve missed the point mate. People put tips up in good faith and not to screw people over.

So the billion dollr question is, why would you want to criticize a tip?

If you think people have hidden agenda’s, you’re welcome to research it yourself and come to your own conclusion, my man.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

FRanko, the short answer is why do you want to criticise any tip. Read about it, decide whether to back it or not and if it doesn’t come it’s because it’s a tip. Ask every bookie if they thought Germany would win yesterday and you’ll get one answer.

    • PeteT 9 years ago

      @Franko

You’ve already got the answer that there’s never an acceptable time to criticise a tip…however, if you don’t agree with a tip no one (I think it’s fair to say) will object if you say you don’t agree with it because <>.

For example if you know about team selection, injuries etc then and feel it influences the tip then share it. As long as you keep it objective (and respect other people’s opinions) then it tends to work both ways and is well received. The problem is some people like to criticise just because someone specific tipped it or they dont like a team.

  79. Jordan 9 years ago

Nice one Satoshi. Didn’t think the home side would be bringing in the bacon for you mind.

    • Satoshi Honder 9 years ago

Cheers Jordan, didnt count on them doing it either, but cant complain.

Zalgiris usually come out all guns blazing the second half from what I noticed, I wont put anything on it but will keep an eye on it for future reference, but yours still has a good chance mate.

  80. craigyboy 9 years ago

Nice one Satoshi! Great pick! Surprised how many chances the home side have created!

    • Satoshi Honder 9 years ago

Thanks craigyboy. I was surprised too, they’ve had their fair share of chances.

Hopefully this made up for the double I messed up for you yesterday, it would’ve been a great double too.

  81. WasClueless 9 years ago

Now need Zalgiris to pull their finger out in the second half!!

  82. jonboyrotten 9 years ago

Satoshi great tip mate i followed. Fantastic find. I got on at 11/8.

  83. Jordan 9 years ago

Don’t let stats on 365 or WillHill etc make you think teams are creating chances. Kruoja have had 2 clear chances at goal, other ‘shots’ have been long punts up field which the keeper has claimed.

Game being streamed on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4mdYQTkHJk

  84. Satoshi Honder 9 years ago

Nice one jonboyrotten, not really into first half stuff, so may leave it as a rarity.

  92. Jordan 9 years ago

Haha maybe mate but not for my bet. Should stick to my bread and butter of goals. Hopefully BTTS comes in the England game later. Main bet for tonight.

  93. Franko 9 years ago

I accept your point, but the reason the bookies had them favourites is simply because its Germany, but looking at both teams recent results, i wouldnt have fancied it atall, i thought we could debate tips and not just to critisize or trolling, but constructive critisism to help each other out. But it was your bet and your money on it i know that.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Franko, it’s not the only reason. They have two cracking players in Hoffman and Volland and both were rubbish against Serbia.

  94. Jordan 9 years ago

I can see why people criticize tips posted, especially the one like mine that is about to lose. Nobody likes losing money. But lets be honest. What use is having a moan about a losing bet after the final whistle is blown? It’s all a guessing game and we can only go by what we think is a good bet. Doesn’t deserve any hindsight feedback saying it was a bad tip. It’s 50/50, win, lose.

What I tend to see is plenty of people quick to criticize, but are nowhere to be seen when bets win.

  95. Jordan 9 years ago

I find the football thread the worst place for it too. Although johnb gets a lot of it, tipping horses is by far harder than football (imo). It’s just hindsight at the end of the day, which is no use to anyone.

  96. Jordan 9 years ago

There you have it. The tip I posted was backed down to below EVS and the final result was a draw @ 11/2 or Krouja DC @ 9/2 at best. I would have been ridiculed for posting either of those if they lost.

Well done Jordan. Sh*t tip ;)

  97. Jordan 9 years ago

Completely off of subject. But I’ve just seen Neymar and Bacca both received red cards after the final whistle last night. Neymar was already suspended for the final group game because of his yellow in the first half, so is that an even bigger ban into the playoff game, if they qualify? Interesting.

  98. Donny1266 9 years ago

Also, its a lot easier to be critical when you don’t even research someone’s tips. If you want to follow at least check form and head to heads on soccerway. I also look at a teams twitter to get info, and local news pages. Take responsibility for your losses instead of blaming someone else.

  99. WasClueless 9 years ago

Jordan – I had looked at the stats on the Zalgiris game before you put up any tip … and thought I would see a good Zalgiris win. Seeing you tip it helped me decide to go for it. Made some money on the tip Satoshi put up on FHGs. Watched most of the second half and Zalgiris had plenty of chances. So for me was another good tip mainly stuffed up by a Lithuanian keeper who decided to become De Gea for the afternoon!! I also have no idea why people criticise ANY tips … I think this site is great and thanks to all that take the time to put up tips /ideas and their thinking.

Jordan, it was a bit tame. I’m cleaned up after the golf and off or a night out. Might even run into one or two of the Ladbrokes lads who are up from London for tomorrow’s SPFL fixtures launch. Hopefully we’ll get some prizes to give away. Check in much later but good luck Harry Kane.

  102. HullShaker 9 years ago

    Evening gents,

Late one last night…said I fancied a few goals in the ladies Brasil game…LOST…there’s 90 minutes of my life I’ll never get back…

Well done Satoshi – great stuff.

Not had chance to look furter afield in any detail yet but fancy one for goals later on.

    England U21’s – two I fancy:

England win and Kane to score…7/2 Coral special (max £20)

Over 3.5 goals…at 10/3…shame Berahino’s out but should be a few goals and rare these days to see over 3/1 for that goal line…too big to ignore for me.

Good luck if you have a go.

  103. rensen 9 years ago

Confirmed Neymar will miss the next 2 games for Brazil.

  104. Skippy 9 years ago

Disappointed in this Norway game all the stats pointed to goals both teams averaging over 4 goals a game this season

  105. Richard 9 years ago

I’ve learned my lessons on these games Skippy – at least 4 times Bet 365 have listed games from the Norwegian lower leagues that screamed goals that have been 0-0 at half time. They pick and choose what matches they feature in these divisions so I reckon they must know something we don’t.

  106. Daniel 9 years ago

No offense guys, just a Notice

I don’t think I have ever seen this whole community beeing in such bad form as now.
The ratio of winners / Loosers is no happy reading.
The amount lost over all forums over last days must be quite high.

Remember guys, taking a break day or two is very well needed sometimes.

Won’t be to everyone’s taste this one but worth a look…

    ICELANDIC 4th Div – Isbjornnin v Skinandi.

Had a bit of a love affair with The Icelandic leagues and goals over last couple of seasons…they have served me very well for the most part. Looking more and more that bookies are reigning in prices so this one may not appeal to some!

Expecting goals here – not going to give reasoning but amongst other sources I use to triangulate basis for bets look at the previous here:

    http://uk.soccerway.com/matches/2015/06/18/iceland/4-deild/isbjorninn-kopavogur/skinandi/2012447/

    • Satoshi Honder 9 years ago

jbthatsme, I’d use Co.ral or bet fair mate, especially for this month as they seem to cover the lower leagues too with decent prices.

new customer offer is bet £5 on a win market and they’ll instantly give you £20.

    Great Work there Mate!

Just noticing Mr F having a hard time, John Bs Ascot start not so fancy and the corner kings form mildly said a little low right now and also regulars Iike You Jordan Mate, Harry and our guru Raal seems to be struggling keeping numbers in profit.

I am quite sure the percentage of punters online here in profit this week is quite low.

Just think more people should consider a few days off when it feels hard to find a good flow with the betting.

    One last time, no offense

    • Jordan 9 years ago

It has been slow and I think everyone is struggling Daniel but such is the case when we have little fixtures to gamble on. You might know that I’ve already posted big stakes on the Argentina handicap Saturday night, the Norwegian double on Sunday the Ljungskile goals on Monday. Other than that I probably won’t be having a bet tomorrow as its more of the worst cards I’ve seen this week.

Hullshaker any idea what happened with the vasco u20 game? Had vasco to acore 3 goals or more but paddy power suspended and removed the match at 2.1 to vasco, can’t find any trace of the game on the interweb either. Any help would be great!

Andrew, the game finished 2-1. I had them to win along with under 8 corners in the Lybia game and Venezuela HT draw FT win. Thanks to the poor decision by the ref to send a player off, it looks like my 70/1 long shot has had it. Not even a cover available! :(
