HAVING sorted out the Super Single losses – Wednesday's have still to be settled – I thought I'd got the Top Treble back on target.
But after both teams scored at Degerfors and in the Germany-USA friendly the third leg let me down as Gimnastic failed to net at Oviedo. It could have been covered after the USA netted but I wasn't around to advise it.
My overnight Super Singles on Brazil ended with one winner (Brazil to win to nil) and one loser (Brazil -2AH).
I didn't really enjoy betting on a game I couldn't monitor or cover due to the kick-off but in the early hours of this morning I will be watching the Copa America opener between hosts Chile and Ecuador.
Chile will be hooping to get off to a flyer as they try to win the tournament for the first time. On the outrights they are 4-1 at Ladbrokes and bet365 but if I was backing them I'd do it each way because Argentina and Brazil are on course to meet in the semis.
They are a best 8-15 with BetVictor and others to beat Ecuador and I'm chancing them -1 AH at 39-40 with BetVictor and bet365. To score first Sanchez is my pick at 15-4 with BetVictor.
There are some more friendlies on Thursday including Spain v Costa Rica and a Spanish play-off first leg between Real Zaragoza and Girona.
The women's World Cup resumes and the big game is Germany v Norway. Germany of course beat a weak Ivory Coast side 10-0 in their opener and are new outright favourites with the USA failing to impress in their 3-1 victory over Australia.
I watched the Germany tie and while their finishing was superb their defending was slack at times. Ivory Coast had a perfectly good goal disallowed and missed three or four clearcut chances.
With Norway beating Thailand 4-0 it leads me to believe both to score at 5-4 with Coral is a good bet and a possible Super Single. The sides met twice at Euro 2013 with a 1-0 apiece but this one should be more open with both certain to qualify but wanting to claim top spot.
England finish their Euro Under-21 finals preparations against Belarus at Barnsley and are no bigger than 1-6 with Ladbrokes. It's no surprise when you consider attacking players such as Harry Kane, Saido Berahino, Danny Ings and Jesse Lingard are in the squad.
It should be a big win for Gareth Southgate's men before heading to the Czech Republic and Kane to score first at 3-1 with bet365 will be a popular bet if he starts. Kane to net at any time at 4-7 with Ladbrokes and Betfred and that is extremely short for this market.
Dominating some coupons are the Concacaf and Asian World Cup qualifiers but I'll be golfing in the morning so have no time to research these although there are many short-priced favourites such as Qatar at Maldives, Oman at India and Syria at Afghanistan.
I've started studying Copa America but you could do worse than check out the excellent previews on all three groups and team-by-team guide on We Love Betting, with guest input from Tim Vickery.
For the Top Treble I'm going with Chile to win, England U-21s -1 and I'm putting my faith in both to score at Germany-Norway women even though this is the one that worries me just because of the stats but not on the evidence of the opening games.

Just having a look at some of the markets for Chile’ opener tonight, and while I think the Sanchez Wincast isn’t a bad bet, you may want to look at Sanchez to score from outside the box @ 11/2 @ Skybet. I’ve tried looking for him to score a free kick but can’t see it about so this surely is the next best option. I’ll have a point on this for interest.
