TODAY'S the day – and let's hope Euro 2016 is betting friendly throughout the tournament.
I'll post a preview and recommended bets every day – and will try to do so for every match but that will depend on time as I've Daily Record columns to write every day and of course I'll be busy on the sports desk – even though Scotland weren't invited to the big party.
First up it's France v Romania and my match preview will be posted later. It's no secret I'm on the French to win their opener and the tournament but whether it will be convincing against a stuffy Romanian side I don't know.
In Copa America in the early hours of Saturday morning it's Argentina v Panama and Chile v Bolivia and you have to fancy the two favourites.
My early-morning
Super Single was a loser thanks to Uruguay flopping again but at least Mexico won with Javier Hernandez scoring first as predicted. Having looked at team news I'm doing a double on Argentina -1 and Chile.
Lionel Messi is expected to return for an Argentine side that beat Chile 2-1 without him and I expect holders Chile to keep their defence alive against a Bolivia side that's lost five in a row and 10 of their last 11.
I've been pretty hot on France to win and lift the trophy so I've decided to do a Super Single on Olivier Giroud to score at any time.

Finally…after what seems such a long build up, we’ve reached the first day of Euro 2016. France are my ante post tip to win Euro 2016 and I think they’ll get the tournament off to a good start for themselves with a win vs. Romania in Paris tonight.
I don’t think it will be as easy as the odds might suggest though…Romania conceded the least amount of goals above any other team during qualification, with only 2 goals going into their own net in 10 games – great achievement. Tatarusanu played in the majority of those matches and France have to be patient to notch into his net tonight, assuming he starts. You’ve got to have some kind of respect for Romania – they didn’t lose a single game during their qualification to this tournament and they won’t back down easily.
The above being said however – France are a complete different class to all Romania’s opponents during qualification and they will need to step up tonight. France boast one of the best attacks in the tournament with Griezmann, Giroud and co at Deschamps disposal. I can see a nervy start to this game tonight with a lot of pressure on France. They should see the lion share of possession, shots etc but will take a little time to break Romania down, and therefore I’m going with the second half to see most goals. 3 from the last 4 European Championship openers has seen this come in.

I’m like a kid on Christmas Day today…absolutely love football, any football but you can’t beat a proper Tournament ?
I’ve been looking at this bloody opening game for 2 days solid and I just can’t get anything goal-wise that I really fancy or trust.
Yes, it should be France’s for the taking and I think they’re a great outfit but as many have already said, Romania are stingy as hell with the lowest goals conceded of any team in qualifying.
Couple that with the potentially suspect French defence and I just can’t have faith in the prices out there.
I’m a massive fan of ‘Overs’ and team goal markets and as much as I want there to be goals and back them, I’m just sensing it might not happen especially when you look at the stats for goals in opening Euro games…
If goals aren’t on the menu, things we CAN guarantee are passion, from both sidea, resolute defending from Romania and fast-paced attacking threats from the hugely talented French midfield and offensive players.
All that considered, I think the value may lie in the card markets.
Romania don’t do airy fairy football and sometimes there’s only one way to stop a talented footballer.

Think people are forgetting just how bad England are in tournaments,
They don’t play as a team because their egos are too big, the players because they earn so much makes them that way but other European players seem to have the right attitude, it happens in every tournament and this squad is far weaker than than previous squads
Rooney never turns up for England when it matters, Vardy is good enough but not great, Kane has always been overrated probably because he had big boots to fill after Bale,
Midfielders Henderson, Dier, Wilshere, Milner, Barkley, Sterling, Lallana & Alli
Not one single top class player
Defence and Goalkeepers are even worse
Best England player by far is Stones
Not one player would get into the French or German team and probably not even Spain
A lot of the blame over the years has to go onto the Managers because I can’t think of another international team that continually plays players out of position
I will be supporting England along with the other home nations but I won’t be backing them
A lot of international teams start slow and build up but the problem England have is they play my weakest team in the group first in Russia,
Wales and Slovakia would probably be happy with a draw as I see those two as the groups best teams

By far the best bet of Euro 2016 in my opinion as I fancy over 140 goals to come in
Gave a write up a few months ago about the groups in Euro 2016
Not going into it again but it highlighted the teams in certain groups to avoid for winning the tournament,
They alway say you need to beat the best to win a tournament, which is true but it’s a lot easier if you are handed an easier passage like France
It highlighted groups E & F who have the hardest route to the final because even if you win the group you then play a runner up in the last 16 round then you are likely to play a group winner in the quarterfinals
This is teams like Italy, Belgium, Sweden, Rep of Ireland, Portugal, Austria
Then look at a team like France who if they win a pretty average group will then play a 3rd place team in the last 16
Then a group runner up in the quarterfinals
It’s a massive advantage.
Anyway onto a tip
I have spent months looking for the best bets and one that really sticks out is the Tournament goals
2012 – 76 goals
2008 – 77 goals
2004 – 77 goals
This works out at 2.45 & 2.48 goals per game
2.45 goals over the now 51 games is a total of 125 goals
2.48 goals over 51 games is a total of 126.5 goals
I have seen bet365 are offering 10/11 that there is over 125 goals which is bang on the line for the last three tournaments
Except there is two major differences this tournament
(1) four third place teams will be in the first knockout stage which means four weaker teams
(2) there will be something to play for in every group game, even the weaker teams know going into this tournament that even with two defeats in their first two games, they still have a chance to qualify in 3rd place with a win in their last game
I can see much more open games in the group stage because the smaller nations, the nations that wouldn’t normally qualify for the knockout stage will go into this tournament knowing that just one win could see them as a 3rd place qualifier
I think the bookies have overlooked these two major differences and they should be punished
